I'm no meisterbuilder, but one question I have is why no Gaussian's in Spot Prey?

Good question.  I was keeping the build affordable, and that was one of the cuts.  The full build has it for sure

  I love both powers, I turned unkindness into a proc attack and call hawk was needed for the builds theme....think Raven from the Teen Titans. Here's the current build for you, a bit pricey but works for my playstyle and all. I capped s/l/r/e with agility alpha slotted and managed to hit perma dom, not  alot of wiggle room so I have to pay attention to hasten or pop my ageless to get the recharge boost.

Perfectly understandable, I generally dislike aiming for expensive builds as well lest I commit to a build only to discover I don't really care for the way it plays but have sunk half a billion into it or something,  Plus there's always new shineys down the road to distract me.

I can't open the builds because Mids has broken on me again, but with Dark Control IMO its usually a waste to soft cap. -ToHit is your secondary effect. Except for AVs you shouldn't have any issues. I aim for Defenses in the ~32.5 range.

 

Because of this IMO Defense armors are usually wasted on Dark Control builds. You don't need that extra Defense, what you need is Resistance to tank through damage that punches through. 

 

The sort-of exception case is the Ice APP, not because Ice Armor is very useful to Dark Armor builds, but because Sleet is so much better than any other APP power that it justifies that pool by itself. That said, the Psi, Fire, Mu, Leviathan, and Soul pools are all attractive Resistance armor APP sets for various reasons. Mace, not so much. If you want more Defense in this scenario, Psi pool is probably your best bet for the combo of Link Minds + Mind Over Body resist+ Psi defense in Indom Will.

Thanks everyone for your feedback on this build! I'm the one playing it and so far it's alot of fun. I did choose the top tier Mace blast for the flavor.
I am a fan of Resistance > Defense any day so that's great news. I only took Hawk because it's part of a good ranged attack chain, but thematically animal pets doesn't fit the style (which is just a scrapperish toon with dark controls). That said, Unkindness or Call Hawk if I have to pick one? Big thanks to @Cenozoic for making and posting the build for me, since I am on a mac and don't have mids!
