I am new to the Defender archetype and just did a lvl 50 respect with set bonuses that cap all my defense to no less then 50 and I mean all of them, even psy and toxic. If i get on a team my defense stat almost drop by half. they are now in the low 20s and low 30s.  Ive asked in game about this with 0 help. Anyone know why this is happening? How it works?  If I respect my char again and focus less on defense (since I cant utilize it all when teaming) with that make the stats degrees even more when I join full team?  I do not solo and 99% of the time am teaming.  The teams are lvl 50+  here is a before team and after team

No I am not exempting down. the 3 tests I did was on a lvl 50+ ITF team same lvl team for PI missions and I asked a lvl 50+ friend just to invite me. the last one my def did not change until we were in the same zone as soon as he met me in Ouroboros my def changed. here is my build. I did make one mistake and didnt want to redo whole thing. I took Aim and skipped Shock

Only thing I can safely say is it has nothing to do with being the Defender Archetype.

 

Edit:  owing to a dead computer and no internet outside this phone I can't look at your build but given you weren't exemplar (or from the sound of it sidekicked) it's unlikely, very unlikely, it has anything to do with your power sets, IOs or the build itself.  If you were pulling those numbers from your Combat Attributes some screen shots of your CA before and after might illuminate things (if not your Combat Attributes where were you seeing these values)?   Teammates, if anything, generally cause numbers to rise not fall outside of some Incarnate ability buff degrading over time and even then it wouldn't cause numbers to go below your solo values.

 

What were the settings the ITF was run on?  They didn't have anything like players debuffed going on?

According to your Mids build, your highest defensive numbers are:  Energy-41.4, Smashing/Lethal-39.7, and Ranged at 37.3.  I'm baffled why your powers display in game is showing the numbers you posted.

Evasive Maneuvers only provides the defence when you are out of combat and haven't click/attacks/buffed/issued pet instructions/sneezed.

 

That large difference seems very likely to be attributable to this power.

 

You can always view the power details for specifics by opening your powers tray/tab, clicking Combat Attributes, and viewing the stat. It will have a breakdown of all effects.

Evasive Maneuvers and Stealth look like the culprit.  I have Mids set up to always treat the character as having attacked, so I can more accurately examine stalker numbers.  In mine toggling EM does nothing for you, and Stealth gives ~3%.

thanks for the help guys looks like I wasn't aware of how all the powers worked that I took.  Since some of you have looked at the build is there a way to cap or get closer to the cap then were im at without EM.

You dont. You are elec affin, which has the amazing faraday cage. Max out your general resists, because faraday cage provides resist to ALL (pretty sure thats including toxic and psi), and big numbers of that.

 

I have had far better success building elec affin for resist, because I have portable, built in hard-mez protect that I can even drop _when mezed_ because a lucky mez got in while I was in transit. Defense is great and all, but faraday cage is absolutely amazing. Stack it with a resist armor and tough, and profit. I last stacked it with charged armor I think, would have to look.

 

edit: (this is on a troller, which doesnt have as great numbers as a fender)

Traded Stealth and Mace for Leaping and Elec Mastery.  Hardcapped SLE resistance, small purple from ranged soft cap.  If you're willing to give up Hasten and global recharge, I could probably squeak in Weave.  I'll try that next.

The forum editing tools are garbage.

 

Anyway, got it.  Ruined your global recharge, got you within spitting distance of ranged soft cap.  +5 boosters to CJ and some of Weave should have it.  Alpha Musculature will add End Mod to your assorted attacks.

Here is an Heavily Armored EAfn/Elec using Rune/Hybrid/Rune/Demonic/WeddingBand.

I'm also including Myshkin's Offensive Procced and Armored /Fire, which I'm not translating to /Elec, but you should be able to do so for yourself.

And I'm including an Offensive non-proc Resist based /Fire, which I'm also not Translating to /Elec, but again, you should be able to do so for yourself.

All of these should help give you various ideas to work off of, or even translate and use directly.
