Kick Bot Build - Looking for Critique and Attack Chain Suggestions

OceanusCoH

Recommended Posts

I'm working on a new Elec/MA tanker, Kick Bot, and this is what I've come up with so far.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I've managed to cap most resists, along with melee defence.  One thing to note is that this is an android specifically designed for kicking, so I only want kicking animations.

I'm also wondering about attack chains for MA.  I've seen people suggest SK>CK>SK>CAK, and I'm really close to having enough recharge but I can't quite make it work.  I also think I've probably got my tanker purples in the wrong attacks, but that depends on the attack chain that I'm trying for.

I'm a bit of a scratched record on this, but with the Tanker proc you don't need to aim for 90% resists. It gives 6.7 and it stacks three times. Consider two stacks as average. So putting your defenses to 84% is fine too.

If you take Barrier it also adds 5% resistances and 5% defenses.

I have an old build you can take some slotting ideas from and incorporate into your choice of skills. It uses Barrier's 5%.

Isn't it a whole sliding scale thing over time that's only up 50% of the time overall?  Or are you just using 5% as an average?

It's not. It starts at an obscene number and shrinks until the last minute it only gives 5% to both defense and resistance. It lasts for 120 seconds and recharges in 120 seconds so it's a permanent 5%.

Scrolling through the full info on Mids -

5% to all resists and defense for the full 120 seconds

+2.5% resists and defense for first 60 seconds

+25% resists and defense for first 30 seconds

+57.75% resists and defense for first 10 seconds

So it'd go from 90.25 for first 10 seconds, then down to 32.5 for the next 20 seconds, then down 7.5 for the next 30 seconds, then 5% to defense and resists for the last minute.

Suggest you put a KB>KD in Crane Kick, unless you like chasing after folks.

I would take Power Sink as soon as it's available at 26. You don't want to slot the Performance Shifter proc in it. Unenhanced, Power Sink gives you 25 endurance per foe hit. A lvl 50 endmod IO will give an additional 10.6 endurance (42.4%) per foe hit, whereas the proc (if it goes off) will just give you 10 endurance one time. The endmod IO will also increase the endurance drained from your foes. It's worth adding 1 or 2 slots if you can spare them.

Waitaminute....  Kick Bot took.. BOXING?!

Lol - oops!  First thing I fixed of course.

Ulun, thanks.  It looks like a couple people mentioned that issue with Crane Kick.  I've made that swap.  I also really appreciate your ideas on Power Sink (which I didn't understand).  I went with end mods from performance enhancer, so I could get a bit of extra run speed.

Speaking of which, the reason I could do that is because I managed to get SK down to 1.67 seconds recharge.  This means that I can do SK>CK>SK>CAK.  There's a 0.15 second delay at the end, but that's tolerable.  I can also do SK>DT>CK>CAK for AoE damage.  This means that I can get rid of TK entirely.  I just hope that Infiltration is a tolerable travel power.

Sovera, I like your ideas, but I think we just have a different philosophy.  I like to use my incarnates to plug holes and I want my resists for alpha strikes.  I found your slotting ideas really helpful, and stole a couple.  I'm now actually using Tough to make up the difference.

Here's my updates.  It's pricey, but influence is no object for me.  If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.  Thanks everyone for your help.

I finished an Elec/MA a week or two ago. I’ll try to remember to weigh in when I’m home 🙂

EDIT: My attack chain is basically Storm Kick -> 2 of 3 other attacks -> Storm Kick. Storm Kick is my highest DPA attack so it’s more beneficial to repeat it more often than the others. So how this works is:

Storm Kick -> Crippling Axe Kick -> Crane Kick -> Storm Kick -> Cobra Strike -> Crippling Axe Kick -> Storm Kick -> Crane Kick -> Cobra Strike -> [Repeat]

Other than that, just my standard comment that you have a lot more bonuses and a lot fewer procs than I do. Different strokes for different folks.
