Forced to changed character name on a lvl 50

I logged into my character which i wasn't active on the character for 2 months , I get a screen saying I have been giving a Token to change my name - or take the name with number one in front of it ... I thought level  50s were protected . BUG !!!!

I don't think that any name scavenging has happened yet. The only renames that I'm aware of are for copyrighted or offensive names. If you don't think it was either, then I'd open a support ticket and see if you can get reasoning.

It would only happen if your name was deemed inappropriate for some reason.

That doesn't sound right.  The policy can't be that "OffensiveName" is bad, but "OffensiveName1" is okay.

So you’re saying you had the character, you played the character, with the name a couple months ago, and you just recently logged in and now they’re telling you to change names?

 

 Did you move between servers at some point? Someone could’ve taken the name while you were on the other server.

So, yes:

1. The name "de-reservation" policy is not yet in place. (You can tell by the lack of pitchforks, tar and/or feathers, as well as the lack of announcement of it going into effect. 🙂 )

2. This sounds like GM action on a copyrighted or offensive name. Which leads to:

2a. You should, generally, have been notified. Either way, open a ticket with support and they'll look when they get back. You can do this either thorugh the "support' button on the menu up top or through the in game menu (/petition, I think, or through help = not the help channel, the menu.)

Well, there was a time when level 50 meant the character had been around more than 3 days.

Ok , 

Turns out it was me , not 60  days off of character - but 25 days , 

I had thought I transferred toon but I didn't , So I made a new toon with that name to hold it . 

 

It's small bug .
