I like both tanks. The main downside of Rad/SS is the rage crash for sure and the Rad/DM has slightly less damage especially if you don't hit enough mobs with Soul Drain. I prefer Rad/DM because rage crash feels pretty bad sometimes.

@Glowman

@Gobbledegook

How tanky are these?  I have a Rad/TW IO'd out that is super super tanky, but am interested in testing the Rad/SS proc build for damage.  I can tank ITF and Miss Liberty like a breeze with the one I have now but am super interested to see if this build stands up to the tankyness with all the damage.  Mostly because Momentum sucks...

@Ghimel How do you define tanky? I just tested ScarySais build on the testserver and soloed an ITF 0/8 no problem in about 45-50 minutes. Had to use an inspiration here and there but nothing special and maybe not even necessary.

I also ran a couple of radios missions and some random other ones and had no problem at +4/8. Even AVs and GMs are doable without much problems.

@Aizbaer Good to know.  Is Rage crash a problem?  I saw that you can have it double-stacked.  Is the gameplay with this tank based off of perma-Rage?  If that is the case, I guess I'm just worried that I'll be relatively squishy because of the constant Rage crash whereas on my Rad/TW, I rarely even take damage.

Not really a problem, no.

I mean, yeah, the damage is a little lower during rage crash but most of the time I didn't even notice it...

I have no problem tanking just about anything in the game. Something that I think is vastly underrated is the use of inspirations. On a +4 MLTF I'll use a purple or 2 when I tank Lord Recluse. No biggie and that tough enough mentality allows me to do a sick amount of damage. I will say with the changes to the yellow pylon on MLTF you need to go in ahead of your team to get Recluse's attention, because he's harder to hit and this build doesn't run taunt. Also, something to note, is that you have to keep an eye on your end because you use a lot (especially if running double rage) and you'll crash if you aren't paying attention.

You could always have Build1 as super Tanker and a dps Build2 for the other 99% of the content which it is more than tough enough for. Expensive though having 2 builds.

Hmmm...  I will think on these things.  @Glowman I take it your examples include incarnates?  Do you use any end modification incarnates to help?

My build experience is with incarnates, but none of them add to my end. With Radiation Therapy end is only a problem if I'm hitting all my buttons, don't have a crowd to fill with Radiation Therapy and am not paying attention. I also keep Recovery Serum in case I need it. I'm running the following:

Alpha - Musculature Core Paragon

Interface - Reactive Radial Radial Flawless Interface

Judgement - To taste.

Destiny -Rebirth Radial Ephipany

Lore - To taste.

Hybrid - Assault Radial Embodiment.

Just for the sake of it, because there are no incarnates in the build.

I also tested the build with Musc Core, Degen and Ageless. Ageless is not really needed for it to work but it's nice to have 😉

I think my last question!  You took Radial over Core for your Hybrid.  Does the doublehit proc often enough to outweigh the near constant uptime of Core (because dots)?  I was leaning toward Radial, but then I had to read about it and now I'm more confused than I was originally lol.

Honestly? I'm not sure. Haven't really paid close enough attention.

Ok, so I got my tank to 50+1, slotted out with a hybrid of the Aprocalypse build and wow, what a pleasure to play.  Definitely not as tanky as my Rad/TW (maxed res and def - probably a bit overkill), but just beats the living hell out of things.  For sure it just feels about a thousand times better than that clunky TW set - and the damage.  Wow.
