Since I began fire farm PLing, I follow the same route.

Get double XP, street sweep to 6.

Join SG. Go to Talos.

Run 5 maps of Brigg's fire farm.

New character is now 35.

 

This morning, however, I did exactly that, and the new character just barely dinged 33.

 

Anyone have an explanation? Edit: Explanation found. My memory sucks.

I can run a test in a few for Big Mobs. A single pass there can get a character from 1 to 22.

Nope, not that I'm aware of.  I do pretty much the same as you... run Kalinda's story arc in Mercy Island, ding level five, and then run five laps of an asteroid fire farm.  Ding level 33.

It could be senility. Maybe it was always 33 and I'm not remembering correctly. Now that I'm pondering it, maybe it was 10 maps to 40 then another 10 to 50 and I rarely stopped after just 5.

Yep, that's what it is.  Another five will get you to 40.

There was no new update as I don't think the servers went down today so it would had to have been in for a few days. Odds are high it would have been spotted already.

My characters that I skip right to incarnates all have really great lvl 22 builds as I design my builds to maximize my potential exempted down to Posi level. Then they benefit from having all their slots too.

 

That said farming I never count the number of runs because I'm either watching TV or have two accounts afk farming while I play a third account or play something like Elden Ring while the farm accounts work. Just requires a modicum of alt+tabbing.
