Not sure if this is going to be any good, never played an MM before.

 

How do MM fair in hardmode content? Solo capability?

 

Really no idea on the pet slotting, just going by how i would slot controller pets. Totally lost with Lich though.

Not at my computer (on phone), but here's a few things to consider.

 

Nature needs recharge, and lots of it. You want wild growth, wild bastion, and overgrowth up as often as possible. Same for Soul Extraction.

 

 Your pets will benefit from some end reduction.

 Not sure about the Achilles in Grave Knights (not sure how often it could proc)

 The Pet IOs will help tons (2 + resists, 2 + defense, and the other Superior...can't remember the name). Even if slotted in Soul Extraction, all your pets will get the benefit. 

 

 You can slot Resist Damage IOs in Enchant. It will give your pets more Resist. I usually put between 2-4 pieces of Unbreakable in it, and the Steadfast +res/Def there.

 Dark Empowerment...I've learned that if you slot the Panacea, Numina's, etc procs in it, your pets will receive the benefit of it (but not you). Helps to keep them healed up (health and end).

 

Lich....I always throw a Cloud Senses proc in him. About every power he uses has a chance to proc it. He doesn't do much damage at all, so might as well put To Hit Debuff there, and/or a 1/2 of the Pet Uniques.

 

 That's just what I can think of off the top of my head. When I can, I'll get on my pc and look a bit closer and maybe throw a build together to give you ideas. I myself was really close to rolling necro/nat, but instead decided to give Force Fields a shot.

I like how you skipped Tactics on you build.   A lot of players fail to recognize the +ToHit component of the Overgrowth buff.

 

Don't feel bad about coming up with an effective slotting for Lich.  He is tough to figure out.  Does one enhance the control aspect of the Lich or go with +DMG?   This is a question that tortured me for a couple weeks.

 

I attached a build to help you with the slotting of the henchmen of Necro/.  This slotting takes into account the enhancement of the henchmen powers as well as the set bonuses derived from the enhancements.  I weighed one against the other and came up with a good combination.   A focus was kept on +Rech and slotting the MM uniques.

I usually just build for damage on the Lich, more because I want certain set bonuses, but try a mix of both control and damage. Sacrifice endurance slotting for it:


Soulbound +dam
acc/-tohit hamio
acc/mez hamio

Intuition Radial Alpha

 

I know it looks funky without endurance but slot 2 heal/end +3 hamios in Dark Empowerment. It's enough to keep Lich and Grave Knights above 80% blue bar after attacking for 10 minutes straight. Zombies need another +33% end slotted for them to last. I made a video, it shows their slotting a few times throughout. I make adjustments on the fly to get Zombies functional, like 15 minutes in.


It's done on Beta. I have Support Hybrid slotted so I'm not sure if the passive end discount works on pets too.

Panacea proc is the only benefit the pets will get. All others have been tested. Interesting enough the status/regen resistance IO, slotted in resistance will benefit them as well.

I don't have my build handy, but I love my Necro/Nature. It feels almost unfair to mobs.

 

I slotted Lich for control though. Maybe similar to how you'd 4 slot Dark Servant. A defense bonus I think?

 

Which Necro pet should get the chance for build up proc?

Numina's, Miracle and Regenerative Tissue are active on pets when slotted in Dark Empowerment. Impervious Skin? Whaaaat?! No way... Spent all this time trying to improve pets but overlooked Imp Skin... Geez, if this works, I'll be upset... Oh geez, for goodness sakes! It does!

It makes the most impact, highest dps increase, on tier 1 Zombies. But arguably, Zombies are quickest to fall. If they're dying often, Grave Knights would be a decent alternative.

Wow! So they DO work on the pets?! Yay!!!

 I didn't even think of Imp Skin. I'm guessing that's slotted in Enchant? Wouldn't it be awesome if you slotted Steadfast:+resist/Def in Enchant AND it transferred the bonus to them?

I keep seeing your posts and they are really amazing in terms of information.

 

But can't you just POST A BUILD for once? Like if you have figured out how to solve endurcance on Necro/Nature, just post a build. I spend so much time in mids because I can just find an optimized up to date build it's driving me insane.

I play dual Necro/darks myself (I also have a Necro/ea), but I can't help but wonder how Necro/nature has an end issue? I play nature on several other toons and the 74.5% pbaoe end discount on Overgrowth should resolve it by itself. Then there's also

Life Giving Spores that gives endurance.

 

Am I missing something here?

I love it. Zombies in TV/films are depicted as undead monsters that do not fatigue. It kind of fits that Necro needs little to no endurance slotting.

I don't post my builds anymore. I'll give a general critique if someone asks for it for their build. Recommend power/slot/IO changes if they have specific goals they're aiming for. But it sounds like she's asking how to manage pet endurance on a Necro/Nature which I don't have. I run a Necro/Dark.

This is what I do myself. I think it's more rewarding to help someone understand how to make a build as opposed to just giving them one. It makes them better players.

Give a man a fish; teach a man to fish, yada yada. There are a lot of builds players have posted already. If a specific combination can't be found, just find a Necro/X build and a X/Nature build, and amalgamate them. Some synergies may be lost and some may be created. Adapt it to suit personal needs/wants and playstyle. Integrate must-haves and drop expendables. It will teach a lot about building.

While Overgrowth does provide +to hit, it doesn't protect you from confusion effects, which tactics does.

One of the worst cc's you can be hit by as a mastermind (especially a nature one) is confusion, since suddenly all your healing and buffs are benefiting the enemies, instead of your pets, and your pets will turn on you and tear you apart.

 

As for the combo itself, I have a necro/nature that's a lot of fun to play. I'm in the process of rebuilding her though, since my original build was more heavily-invested into defense rather than resistance, and I'm leaning more into resists lately, especially on builds that can self-heal. For the lich, I don't really bother slotting him for damage, since he only has two damaging abilities, and the rest are cc and debuffs. Slotting him for to-hit debuff can work really well, and I'm experimenting with proccing him out since most of his abilities have fairly long cooldowns.

I have incorporated StrikerFox's findings for endurance management but I'm still a bit short on recharge (overgrowth at 70sec) but increasing that lowers defenses resist and I'm not entirely sure how much personal resist is needed.

I'm at work at the moment so I can't post anything, but I'll try to finish tinkering with my build when I get home, and post it after I run some more tests on the beta server.

Though a lot of my builds are tightly constrained to a theme/concept, so sometimes they won't be as efficient as they could be. 🙂

I try to make them as close to theme as possible while still being as effective as they can be, but...

My necro/nature build is part of my "D&D Adventurers in Paragon" group. She's a "Circle of Spores" druid. If we could customize pets, they'd look like the mushroom guys from DE.

<edit> Hm, apparently not. The version of mids I just upgraded to doesn't seem to want to export builds. It crashes every time I try to use the "share build via forum export" option. Blah.
