WhiteNightingale Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) I'm starting this thread because, alas, too many arcs that use that keyword turn out to be farms and I'd like to have a handy list of ready-to-play comedy since I play in four comedy-oriented SGs. So, who wants to start sharing arc IDs? Edited January 13 by WhiteNightingale 1 AE ARCS: Most Dangerous Game (ongoing): 16058, 16059, 16060, 4363, 15230, 22386, 23645 * The God Machine (finished): 26365 * Family Reunion (finished): 18920 * Remnants (finished): 5405, 5408, 5411, 5597 * Ball and Chain (finished): 33690 * The Scroll of the Spirit Dragon (finished): 37070 * Prime Real Estate (finished): 43979 * Lord of War (finished): 49034 * Euthanatos (ongoing): 41945, 54307, 54312, 50727
Kyksie Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) The Trilogy of Moderate Evil I wrote these on the Live server way back in '09 or so. The player is a villain who has worked their way to near the top of the Rogue Isles food chain and is now doing odd jobs for Recluse and his merry gang. Two Chicks at Once #53229 Working for Lord Recluse, you discover Longbow has launched a cunning and titillating plot to undermine the Rogue Isles. With your help, Arachnos will strike back in kind. Contains a custom group who should be only mildly challenging. Contains two archvillains, but you'll have AV allies. The ending souvenir refers to some of my friends from the Live server. Curiouser and Curiouser #53230 How can Lord Recluse's latest plot be so secret even he doesn't know about it? How do Longbow and Malta fit in, and who invited Nemesis? In missions 1, 2, and 4, an AV/EB will spawn after completing some objectives. They are not required, but give an extra clue. Has some naughty subject matter, but nothing worse than you might find on late night cable. The arc's Dark Secret is revealed in the mission souvenir. If you've played a lot of arcs, make sure you have less than 75 souvenirs or you won't receive any more. Cat: It's What's For Dinner #53231 Such a simple plan... steal the Orestes Rifle, kidnap Ms. Liberty, defeat Statesman. What could possibly go wrong? This is a parody of the LRSF. The last mission has an Easter Egg. I won't explain it. You either get it or you don't. In the first mission, you do NOT need to fight the Titan. The entrance is near it. The final mission has a choice of two possible endings! One requires you to beat a tough AV/EB, the other does not. A level of at least 40 is recommended, 50 being ideal. Contain a bit of mildly risque subject matter. Breaks the 'Ocelot Rule' in many places. No defeat alls, feel free to stealth past trash mobs to the objectives. All archvillains will scale down to EBs, bosses down to lts. Edited January 14 by Kyksie 1
Kyksie Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cimerora Arc# 43268 Answering Imperious' call for aid, you and a group of intrepid heroes traveled back in time to Cimerora, determined to thwart Romulus and the Fifth Column's plans for temporal domination. Except, the cheap secondhand time shunt you bought at Crazy Mark's House of Bargains malfunctioned, dropping you off two weeks after the invasion... into the middle of a slave pit. And, for some reason, your powers aren't working. The last three days have consisted mainly of shoveling horse manure. This won honorable mention or something in a contest a few years back. Defeat All Snakes Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) ArcID: 17374 -- The Game of Thorns Circle of Thorns Online, the hit MMO from Abraxas Entertainment, has ground entire economies to a standstill. More addictive than high-grade narcotics, more popular than Pocket D and more contagious than the common cold, the game boasts a playerbase in the billions. And some people take it very, very seriously.... The classic (I guess?) redside arc, in which you're hired to assassinate someone's MMORPG character and things spiral out of control from there. As proud as I am of GoT and as flattering as the community's feedback has been over the years (seriously, thank you everyone,) it was my first outing, and could use as much improvement as that statement implies. However, its development was also deeply, maddeningly cursed, to the point that I'm now genuinely afraid to touch it in case the whole thing somehow deletes itself, formats my SSD and creates a black hole in my apartment. Please go in with a ready tolerance for jank. Critics are raving! Arc ID: 43772 -- DETH ETERNAL Welcome to DETH ETERNAL, a lightning-fast virtual reality adventure where you are the toughest space trooper ever to suck vacuum!! ...It's Doom. It's literally Doom. ...It's literally Doom, written in the AE system by a young Praetorian refugee as a gift for someone she cares about, as a way of expressing things she perhaps finds herself otherwise unable to. DETH ETERNAL is easily enjoyed as a brainless, demon-killing comic-book romp with a cliched story and corny dialogue; but the attentive may glimpse a deeper theme behind the curtain. Blueside/Vigside/Dethside. Two intense action missions, two playable cutscenes. Was a gift for someone specific (and awesome) and will misgender you as a "badass dude with a big ol' gun," something it kills me still isn't recognized as an actual gender in our backwards society. You may also take advantage of: A Windows 95 compatible sound card / A modem with at least a 9600-baud setting / A TCP/IP or SPX/IPX network. Roger Ebert had this to say: 45220 -- The Most Wonderful Crime of the YearThe Christmas arc people keep telling me to kill myself over. I promise, I'm taking your feedback very seriously. TMWCotY is an anyside holiday arc best played with AVs turned ON. I know that's counterintuitive for some, but two of the AVs in the final mission won't scale down, which despite repeated testing, I was not aware of until after the competition. And while the main companion you get can solo most of the map as an AV, he can struggle in his lowly EB form. Oh, and major spoilers: on mission 2, the glowie is in the very first room, where the contact says it is. Probably on the wall you're facing as you walk in. A lot of people understandably had trouble with that one. 83% on Metacritic! Bit entries I made specifically for other people but I still think are pretty okay, I guess: ArcID: 57205 -- THE GRIM DARKNESS THAT CAME TO PARAGON. **THE GREEN TIDE DESCENDS UPON ATLAS PARK! CLEANSE THE XENOS FILTH FROM THESE STREETS IN THE NAME OF THE HOLY THRONE OF THE 100% NON-COPYRIGHTED SPACE EMPEROR!** A gift for a 40k-loving e-friend. It's a short, stupid, one-note joke arc in which you murder entirely non-copyrighted space orcs for ten or so minutes. Designed to be completable by a low-to-mid-level beam rifle sentinel, so it's deliberately on the easy side, and best played with a high mob count, obviously. Two EBs, no AVs. Good for: Space marines, dwarven slayers, actual paranoid psychotics. Enjoy it before it inevitably gets me banned, sued, and finally murdered, probably by a Bulgarian assassin Snarky hired on the Oranbegan dark web for half a billion inf. Ave Imperator. Mic drop. The hot takes keep coming! Arc ID: 43504 -- Heart of Gold, Heart of GlassThe Goldbrickers drop a diss track on you. It's a declaration of war. This was a Black Hand Society redside arc designed for a specific character, a troubled ex-singer with a substance abuse problem, and will misgender you as female. An older arc that I still thought was different enough for a mention. It's true.Arc ID: 58359 -- Shining ScarsManticore has the great idea of doing the same thing and expecting a different result. This was a 2023 Christmas gift and story denouement for a specific character, and isn't recommended for general consumption. It's only like 75% comedy, too, making me even more of a dingus for posting it. However, the first three missions are also a Shining Stars parody, and I have a feeling some of you might appreciate that, so here it is. Will misgender you as female, ex-Arachnos, and entirely too sweet for your own good. But that's, like, your problem, man. Edited January 14 by Defeat All Snakes 1 1

ArcID: 48829 - A Simple, Uncomplicated Supply Run Somebody is calling in a favor you owe. Funny, you don't remember owing any favors. Rogue or Villain. My first work in the AE, it's only a single mission and shows it. Venture into a hospital that was recently the site of a magical catastrophe, in search of supplies for a shady underground doctor. While this does involve group-specific context, you could easily ignore the contact dialogue and reskin it as a supply/drug raid where everything will be perfectly fine and not weird at all. ArcID: 49590 - Without A Hitch With the Black Hand Society making their play into St. Martial, Boltergeist (that's me) claims he's got a great idea to help move things along. You know he's full of shit, but it could be worth a laugh. Rogue, Villain, or anybody who wants to watch a moron get his comeuppance. This is an arc where one of Etoile's worst villains tries to recruit help from a local Freakshow gang, and in the process manages to piss off almost every faction in town. If you've run with the Society, or been to the HenchCo recruitment faire there's a possibility you've played this because i've brought it out a few times for non-members and it's maybe the highlight of my arcs. The whole seed of it was wanting to make what is essentially one long chase scene, and I think it came out okay! ArcID: 50342 - Bolter's Trick Boltergeist is contacting you again, even though you clearly remember blocking his number. Says he's got a great idea to mess with some heroes, and get a little revenge in the process. Rogue, Villain, Vengeance Fans. Created for a BHS contest where each entry had to be inspired by an existing Tip mission, in my case this was 'Krazy Mark's Krazy Deals.' It also serves as a pseudo-sequel to the above Without A Hitch mission, as it involves getting revenge on an antagonist from that arc. It also involves tricking a bunch of stupid heroes into the sewer, a fun and worthwhile passtime for any villain! Just try not to let things go too far, because you never know which heroes might by listening in... ArcID: 56142 - Cola Wars The Tastylife Beverage Corp wants to know who sabotaged one of their subcontracted bottling facilities, and they're willing to pay to have this situation resolved. Should be easy, since you're the ones who did it. Rogue, Villain, Ice Cold Beverage Enjoyers. This was actually made as a follow up to a mission arc by another BHS member, Cryptocurrent. That arc is 55907 - The Gang Saves Crey Cola. You are called in to the scene of a brutal crime in order to find and punish the perpetrators, but the twist is that those perpetrators were you. So just go destroy the evidence, deal with any witnesses, and frame some other bunch of morons for it, then get paid! ArcID: 58488 - The Phantom Menace (what? i thought itd be funny and im bad at names) Being a criminal is pretty easy. Being a successful criminal is a little harder. And being a Super criminal? Not everybody's cut out for it, and some people need a little help getting there. Sounds like a whole lot of Not Your Problem, yeah? But then a job offer on your CRIME app catches your eye... Rogue, Villain, Friends of Hardworking Underdog Criminals. A mysterious employer contacts you through S.C.U.M.B.A.G., the premiere app connecting villains and those hoping to hire them, looking for help; he wants to become a big bad super crook, but he just needs a few things to help him get there. What's wrong with a little bit of competition? It's not like things could end in any way that is not immediately expected! You won't get the full effect of this one if you don't know my in game character, Boltergeist, but I did try to design it so it stands perfectly fine on it's own. ArcID: 50685 - Let's Rob A Casino! A guy who claims to know another guy, who says they're the buddy of a girl who thinks she worked with you once has a pitch for a quick little heist. One of the smaller, unaffiliated pop-up casinos in St. Martial. Could be worth a few minutes of your time, and some easy cash. Fun for all ages and alignments! This is it, my crowning glory, the one i'll never top. While it may only be a single mission, while it may be stupid, not really challenging, and once again only pays off fully if you're familiar with Boltergeist, it's still my favorite. Go rob a casino run by a bunch of stupid gross snakes. Or pretend that you're shutting it down because it's illegal if you're a dumb hero or whatever, i'm not your boss. well, that's it. bye. 1

WhiteNightingale Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 (edited) My turn! The "A-Counting 101 Trilogy" (56284, 56746, 57558): Someone in your silly villain team wants to become a count? (or royalty). Here's a silly way how. Bela Lugosi is Dumb (55039): The Center wants a horror flick like in the days of yore, and has put Maestro in charge of directing it... and Maestro has made it YOUR problem. Bela Lugosi is Dumb II (55116): Blue-side sequel, so heroes react to the consequences of part I. How and Sweaty (55478, 55829): It's a VERY hot summer, and your villain base needs new AC. Heroic Brick vs. The Muscle Wizard (58201): Your super team's super strong member has received a challenge from the Muscle Wizard. Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice (54671): The disgruntled lieutenant of a non-descript supernatural army needs help of your villain team in dismantling a magical girl alliance. Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice (54738): Blue-side sequel to Sugar-Spice and Everything nice for heroes to react to the consequences. Nightmare Eaters (57654): Yet another sequel to Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice, but Halloween-seasonal. Attack of the Invisible Kittens (54000): Exactly what it says on the tin. A War on Christmas (53423): Hate Christmas? Let's go burn Paragon's Christmas Tree farm down to the ground! The Soul Train (57817): In case your villains ever need to collect souls, here's the dumbest way to go around it. Medical Despair (60160): Increase your villain streetcred by helping a mad scientist collapse Paragon's health system. The Hissing Link (58598): Have you ever tried to turn the whole world into cats? Knock yourself out. Splitting Headache (54110): Does your villain or mage have a killer headache modern medicine can't cure? Try a pain shaman! Dead Man's Party (56833): An off-season zombie horde is on the way to Paragon, a different kind of horde. Terror of the HaMEWdon: Save the world from an invasion of walking catnip plants.
