Deathbath
Before the latest updates -- Page 7 -- my son and I were level 50+2. Now we are level 50 only. Does anybody know anything about this, please?
SeraphimKensai
Incarnate shifts outside of that from the alpha slot only work in incarnate content or non combat zones like Pocket D/Ouros. You can use combat monitoring to check your level shift as well. As far as I'm aware, nothing regarding leveling Incarnates changed. Deathbath
I was able to check my level shift this way, and it is still 2. Thanks! So the funny thing is that when my son clicks on me, it just says "50." Weird. I wonder why?

So the funny thing is that when my son clicks on me, it just says "50." Weird. I wonder why? Because you are level 50 in every way except for how you interact with enemies in incarnate content. It's not intuitive, it's very hacky and weird by most game standards, but that's CoH for you. 1 Sundered Marches: The Website | The Official Soundtrack! | The Campaign Setting! Deathbath
Thanks. But till now it said "50+1." Before the update. Now just 50. Saw this other player who's toon said "50+1" And this recently, after Page 7. Kind glitchy.
Sunsette
That's on me, sorry, I misread. Yes, it should say 50+1 when another player clicks on you. Your T3 or T4 Alpha is still slotted? 1 Sundered Marches: The Website | The Official Soundtrack! | The Campaign Setting!
Deathbath
I have Musculature Core Boost slotted, as it appears in the screenshot. Also: Both of you here in this thread have mentioned that incarnate shifts are only valid for "incarnate content." This means only certain missions, correct? How do I know which missions are "incarnate" ones? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Alpha gives it's plus 1 down to 45 (as do the passive bonuses from the other Slots) +2 level shift is only available on Incarnate Trials (see LFG list), and these: Any of the Dark Astoria arcs including the repeatables. Belladonna's "The Emperor's Sword" Number Six's "Praetoria's Last Gasp" Sister Valeria's "Glory and Dark Tidings" Alexandra Sideris' repeatable Places you can see the level shifts from Lore & Destiny are Ouro, Dark Astoria, and during the above missions. 1
DrunkFlux
Alpha only gives +1 at tiers 3 and 4, tier 1 and 2 powers only give a +1, Musculature core boost is only a tier 2, so your only getting the enhancement effect but not the +1. The Lore/Destiny also only give an "incarnate level shift" at tier 3 and 4, "Incarnate" level shifts only apply to incarnate specific content. So you still have more to progress for your alpha slot before you have the consistent +1 in the rest of the game 45-50. Once youg et up to any of the four tier 3 alpha powers you'll have the +1 and you'll keep it once you get to tier 4.
Andreah
You can also monitor your active levels shift from the Powers -> Combat Attributes panel. Right-click on the entry for Level Shift and it will show in a tiny relocatable window for you.
Deathbath
So the Combat Attributes panel shows my *current* level shift on a particular mish? Is that right?
Andreah
3 hours ago, Deathbath said: So the Combat Attributes panel shows my *current* level shift on a particular mish? Is that right? Yes. Monitor it, then jump to Ouroboros, then pick a low level Ouro-arc, then drop the arc. Then return to a regular zone. It'll take a second or so, but it will update in near real time as your level-shifts activate and deactivate.

Only in Incarnate zones do the Lore and Destiny bonuses apply, they're incarnate shifts, not level shifts. The Alpha slot does apply a level shift, but yours is tier 2 in that picture, and tier 2 does not apply a level shift.
Andreah
You may, on very rare occasions, see people with an extra level shift showing on your HUD if they have used a "Ultimate" inspiration. They're most often seen in the Magisterium trial when players desperately need that extra bit to fight Tyrant, or in other places when people need extra teleport Magnitude, like in the Mothership Raid for Fold Space / Shadow Slip / Wormhole to pull level 54 Rikti bosses into the bowl. And other places if they have money to burn.

I just did a repeatable mish in D. Astoria, and it said my shift was 2. But before that it said 0. So I am getting the hang of it!

This is absolutely correct, but I crack up at how incomprehensible a system this is. "Here's two different kinds of conditional level increases!" I'm half convinced the incarnate system is the result of a prayer to a mad but mostly benevolent elder god 2 Sundered Marches: The Website | The Official Soundtrack! | The Campaign Setting!
