Hi all!

So I've been playing with my kids on and off on Homecoming for the last couple of years and we all play with X-Box Controllers (using joy2key and some fancy macro magic like long presses, double presses etc.) which works really great.

For that I extracted the .pigg files (using piglet.exe) for the text font of the power trays to show controller buttons A / B / X / Y... instead of 1 / 2 / 3 / 4... Which is a lot easier to use.

Since the last (or one of the last) updates this is no longer working, instead it shows the new "c+1, c+2... " and "a+1, a+2" texture in the tray for normal keyboard usage. So I guess the location and/or name of the .texture files changed, but I just can't find it in the .pigg files of the latest live release. For the original modding I think I used a file in coh/assets/issue24 as a template.

In the past it was enough to put the files in this folder:

/Homecoming/data/texture_library/GUI/HUD/Tray/tray_ring_number_1.texture

/Homecoming/data/texture_library/GUI/HUD/Tray/tray_ring_number_2.texture

/Homecoming/data/texture_library/GUI/HUD/Tray/tray_ring_number_3.texture

...and so on.

 

Reading through the patch notes it's possible that the February 27 Patch has something to do with this:
"Power tray numbers default to locked, as the trays now have sensible presets for the tray numbers instead of all coming up '1'."


Can anyone please tell me how to find the new location of the files so I can fox this?

Ooh I found an option to fix this: In Options -> Windows -> Power Tray Labels instead of "Key Bindings" it needs to be "Slot Number"! So this fixes my problem ^^

Still, does anyone know where it pulls those fonts / graphics from for the "Key Bindings" Setting? I'd love to edit that to prefix it with something of my own for even better controller use. 🙂

I'd wager that it's in the assets/live pigg files somewhere (and I'd start looking in texture_library/GUI/HUD/Tray), but from the top posts it sounds like you already checked there. Other than scouring the texture_library/GUI assets, I can't think of any other place to recommend looking.
