So, we have power pools focused around making you or others less noticeable, (concealment), and more noticeable, (presence, except for pacify).  I think it'd be great if we had a power pool that centered around misdirecting or otherwise misleading your enemies.  To that end, I present "Misdirection":

1. Distraction - A simple power that has your character throw a rock or some other object at a targeted location.  This power, (possibly via a pseudopet), generates a short lived taunt effect that lures enemies to the targeted location.

2. Forged Credentials - This click power, for a very short period of time, makes a single targeted enemy friendly to you.

3. Falsified Orders - This power, which targets a specific enemy, very briefly marks them as hostile to their allies, thereby getting them to attack said enemy, (kind of the reverse of a confusion power).  Would only work on LTs or lower.

4. Clever Disguise - This toggle power would work similar to stealth, effectively making enemies non-hostile to you.

5. Infighting - This AoE power would work similarly to a confuse power, causing a group of lower-tier enemies to fight among themselves.

This also needs a -range component or the enemies will not actually go to the location.

I can see this working for gaining access to something for mission plot, but ye olde typical enemy isn't going to care what your credentials are. So this feels more like a mission point than a character power for this game.

Ye olde typical enemy is going to look at your character with the falsified orders and just shoot you. I recommend taking a different approach for the confuse effect.

The Concealment pool has a stealth power and Misdirection, which placates all foes within 20 feet (up to Mag 4) for 15 seconds. So as far as naming goes, there is a conflict to address.

Erm, are powers 2 through 5 not Pacify, Confuse, Stealth, and Duplicity? Or is this a satirical suggestion that's going over my head?

An interesting way this could work would be to summon a hologram of yourself at a targeted location. It would taunt foes and/or have a taunt aura. It would be targetable but wouldn't take damage, and would disappear after 5-10s.

Targeted AoE confuse that doesn't effect the target? Not sure how you get them to attack the target and not each other.

I kinda love this one! I could see a solo troller using this to great effect on spawns that are really spread out.  Fire this off, get them to gather on it and then unleash all your AoEs. Yes please!

GrantPower PBAoE Confuse (excludes main target), Taunt (main target only).

It sounds like this would be single target. You hit one "villain" with it and he becomes a "hero" and then all his villain buddies go "oh snap! Where did that hero come from? Git em!" for a few seconds.

I don't think the game engine can do this.

Oh dang! Thats a shame, was an interesting idea.

What if it applied a costume change to the target in the vein of the arachnos costume temp power that players get in the Faultline arc that makes all the other arachnos non-hostile to the player when its activated? I'm assuming that it applies a non-hostile flag to the player, could the reverse be done?

(disclaimer: I may be wildly misunderstanding how that temp power achieves its effect.)

Sure it can. It simply changes the target from red box to blue box and imposes a non-animated Hold on the (now blue box) target or briefly applies a non-combat flag to the target to keep it from fighting back. Basically like how enemies can go friendly to you and find themselves now being attacked by the other enemies. That used to happen in some missions, just now it will be intentional.

(Edit: Or yellow box them instead of blue box them so everyone can attack including you.)

I think these ideas would work better in a wider set about impersonation and infiltration. Either of those can be its name. Or Manipulation. Another power might be a variety of stealth, targeted, something that would copy the appearance of an enemy and let the character pretend to be one of them, as long as he doesn't come too close. I wonder if this engine has a function for copying someone's appearance, though. It's funny, the Infinity Engine does, through a kind of back door.

It's done in about a dozen missions.  When you start playing, you'll find them.
