Lead Game Master GM Impervium Posted August 27 Lead Game Master Share Posted August 27 Easy there, J. Jonah Jameson! Just a reminder to everyone that we don't allow copies of existing characters. There's a fine line between an acceptable homage/parody, and a copyright violation. So people might want to think twice before they tell on themselves here, is all I'm saying. 2 1 3 GM ImperviumHomecoming FAQ; Need a hand? File a Support Ticket! Want to lend a hand? Game Master GM_GooglyMoogly Posted August 27 Game Master Share Posted August 27 I'm sorry, but our Code of Conduct states: "Use of copyrighted characters and content without permission is not permitted when creating characters or Architect content. This includes characters and stories from intellectual property belonging to any IP that is not City of Heroes." So please don't try to copy "Spidey" or any other character that belongs to another person or business. DOH! Impervium beat me. 1
Glacier Peak
I want to echo what our GMs are saying, and say that Spiderman is not okay here. 1 I lead weekly Indom Badge Runs / A newer giant monster guide by Glacier Peak / A tour of Pocket D easter eggs! / Arena All-Star Accolade Guide! UltraAlt
3 hours ago, Trike said: But S’p1d3rM0n is fine I think that's pushing it. But a GM won't make a call on that until a character by that name is in-game ..... and their GM-sense detects it. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

biostem
Just stick to generic "Spider-Themed" characters, and you should be fine. After all... that's basically Arachnos' entire schtick!

I'd tell you my experience, yet again, but there'd be more groans from the peanut gallery than that Greek family hearing about Windex again. At least you were courteous, and that is respectable. 5 hours ago, biostem said: Just stick to generic "Spider-Themed" characters, and you should be fine.
