Make Rikti Invasion Bomb Phase longer

Yesterday, I went through the effort to form and run an LGTF with the express intent to start a Rikti Invasion.

 

The LGTF went rather well, since I limited the team to be level 50s and was able to run it at +4/8 kill all, which was frankly quite a bit of fun. Then I went to FF and got busy forming a league, as usual at Everlasting, recruitment was slow specially when competing with ToT,  By the time, I got it going, the Bomb Phase was over and only got 14 out of 25.

 

Problems I encountered during the raid, many did not know what the green lines on the Vidiotmaps meant, had so many newbs to teach what to do while trying to get folks to just come and help, that doomed me from getting the elusive mind accolade.

 

It would be nice, if the bomb phase could be twice as long, specially in the presence of so many new folks and how hard it is to recruit, especially during way too long special events such as ToTs.

 

I would also appreciate, if perhaps MSR would spawn an invasion as well, instead of just an LGTF.

 

Any suggestions, comments, and as always please make this a learning experience

If the MSR spawned an invasion, there'd be a minimum of 3 a day on Everlasting at least and it would get more than a little annoying.

 

The accolade doesn't need to be gotten in one shot. There will be invasion events as well. It's not a "need to get NOW" thing. Patience, grassrocket.

Having MSRs as many or more than 3 a day is annoying as well, but if we are going to be annoyed, why not do it right? Anyway what is the harm of having an invasion after the MSR, if it happens a few times a day? it only affects one zone at a time, so its not like all the zones are hit at a time.

Oh you'd love me then. I don't use vidiotmaps or any other mod for CoH. Never have, never will.

On the plus side, I'm generally uninterested in zone events and wouldn't join anyways.

The bomb phase is already long enough - almost too long at times.  If you are there right at or close to the beginning, you can get all 25 bombs in one run.  I have done this many times and as a leader.  

1. You do not need a league to do the event.  
2. As soon as you enter the zone, start hunting bombs - you can form your team/league as you hunt.  Standing around trying to get a league first only wastes time.
3. In open world events like this, only your team kills count.  You do not get credit, rewards/drops, inf, or XP from defeats by other teams in your league.  You are essentially competing with other teams on your league.  You only form a league for easy communications. 
   1. So, you really only need a TEAM. 
   2. In fact, the more people in the zone hunting bombs who are NOT on your team are only taking away from your potential kills and badge credit.  (But there are enough to go around for a couple teams.)
   3. And I've gotten the badge in one go with a team of 4 and had time to spare.
4. Thanks for working to educate newbies on the event and what the paths on vidiotmaps mean.  We all need to learn sometime and from somewhere.  🙂  

I do like your idea of having a Rikti invasion after an MSR - either open world or instanced version.  That would be a nice add.

The green lines are the drop ship routes. You only need to search for bombs near the green lines.

You were competing with ToT'ing. That always face plants because the murder motel is the fastest way for players to get xp and inf' in a league. As was stated by someone else, you don't need a league to hunt bombs. Hells, you don't even need a team. If you're there at the start and you know where to look, then just get the bombs. Also as has been said by another, you can recruit as you go. You are always going to have problems recruiting for leagues when competing with ToT'ing and/or scheduled league events. So basically? You shot yourself in the foot.

 

And no, I don't want MSRs to also spawn Rikti invasions. We don't need even more invasion triggers. I hated the constant invasions we ended up with back on Live even outside of events.
