I was attempting to Boost my enhancement "Unbreakable Constraint" but was unsuccessful.

In Picture 1, I show that I have Enhancement Boosters and an Enhancement Catalyst.

In Picture 2, I show the screen where I try to boost my (unattuned) set enhancement.  Note that the boosters don't show up like they used to.

In Picture 3, I show where I've removed the Enhancement Catalyst from my inventory.

In Picture 4, I show where my attempt to boost my (unattuned) set enhancement fails.

In Picture 5, I show where boosting Invention Origin enhs will still boost.

In PIcture 6, I show where I apparently don't completely understand boosting.

It's all a Nemesis plot.  But not everything is a Nemesis plot!

you use boosters to "boost" un-attuned enhancements, to increase their effectiveness.

what you were trying to boost, though it is not exactly specifiied, is clearly a proc, an enhancement which has an effect that is fixed in value. it is unmodifiable. therefore you cannot boost it. even if you could boost it, it would be a waste of your influence, because it would not change the proc value, nor the set bonuses.

NOTE: you can create a boosted proc, by converting a boosted enhancement to a boosted proc. but it has no effect and does nothing for you, except waste your resources.

i hope that helps. 🙂
