I always laugh when I see

“Forming ITF Speedrun.  Level 50+ ONLY”

Spammed for longer than it would have taken to complete a normal ITF without all lvl50s

This is a good example of what I'd categorize as "The 'leader' may not know the content (and/or possible settings) as well as they think they do."

Low level (below 20) TFs that won't start because "Need a Tank" or "Need Healers" is similarly head-scratching. Sure those ATs can make a difference, but an at-level Tanker or Healer for Posi 1 isn't bringing as much to the table as some other AT exemplared down.

I have had strange experiences leading tfs. Not all the time. But, here's an example. Positron caps at 15. So, I always wait until I'm level 15 before I lead it. And invariably, there will be a player who's higher than level 15 that thinks I should hand the star off so they can have more of their powers. I explain to them it wouldn't make any difference, as we're going to be exemplared to the cap of the tf - level 15. They'll get powers up to their level 20. Having a level 50 lead it would make no difference. The TF is still going to cap at 15.

I explain this to them and they think I'm wrong. Thankfully, they just leave the team because they didn't want to team with an idiot. It makes me chuckle. This happens maybe...once every 5 or 6 characters I put through a positron tf. It never seems to happen with any of the other TFs, though. Weird.

I see this maybe not quite as often, but I'll see it often enough.  The variant I'll see is they'll want a 50 when basically anyone higher will work when the recruiter is below 15.

It doesn't only happen with TF's; sometimes I'll join a story arc team and they redirect to radios or tips part way through, and vice-versa. When running teams, I've had player join and then ask if we can run their missions, or say something like "This team's great - we should run a TF!", instead of what I've advertised and others have  joined for. I just imagine the other players groans. :classic_huh:  So I quickly say "Thanks, but I advertised to run X, so that's what we'll do."

If you have content or a play style you want to team for, just form a team for that -- don't try to hijack someone else's.

I've had the star shoved onto me without a single word countless times. In that case I have left the team. I don't mind leading but I'm a much better joiner.
