Would he be a Scrapper or a Stalker?

 

I'm thinking Scrapper. I'm thinking about a build, prob DB/SR with the teleport pool.

 

And no, to the IP, worrywarts, I'm not gonna make him look like Nightcrawler, though he will have a tail and pointy ears...and dark skin...but he will absolutely not look anything like Kurt. J/k Don't know what he'll look like in the end.

Yes, dual blades/super reflexes scrapper with Stealth and Combat Teleport from the 3rd column powers. Self-teleport as well, of course. I suppose a case could be made for /ninjitsu or possibly even /willpower.   While a Stalker is not out of the question, their strength lies in the initial surprise attack, and Wagner has demonstrated that he can sustain a fight long after.

I haven't figured out Ninjitsu yet.

Experimentation: Speed of Sound gives you the fast TP and you've got the toxic dar and corrosive vial to create the after effects of BAMF

 

 

Street Justice/Dark Armor would work nicely as powersets

Yeah - maybe a dual blades/ninjitsu scrapper, with combat teleport or maybe mystic flight if you want to represent the temporary weightlessness from him teleporting.  Alternatively, you could do some flavor of /martial combat blaster for burst of speed, then either not take many of the blast attacks, or maybe use them to further differentiate the character from Nightcrawler - like maybe play up their infernal nature w/ some fire or dark blasts...

Dark Blast/Martial Arts Blaster

Comes with a combat Teleport (frees up a power pool choice) that you could use Rikti portals effect with a purple-blueish hue (or even the smoke effect, can't remember if you can tint the smoke). Play it focused on melee - I do on my Sonic/MA Blaster and it's by leagues my favourite character, I play like a Scrapper and do absolutely fine, with Dark Blasts -ToHit you'd do even better.

Savage/DA Stalker with Combat Teleport. Just to make it interesting.

While coming out of stealth isn't technically teleporting, it could give that appearance to those who saw you do it, so I'd go Stalker rather than Scrapper.

... because there is no tri-blades set.

 

At any rate, I think stalker fits better. One could conceptualize "hide" as teleporting.

 

I had a Champions character that would teleport by traveling through "dark matter" and their attacks were done by scooping up "dark matter" while teleporting and then hurling it at a target.
