Aalya Posted Saturday at 02:58 PM Posted Saturday at 02:58 PM Is this for everyone or should we wait until the finalists are announced?

ZamuelNow Posted Saturday at 03:36 PM Posted Saturday at 03:36 PM While I tried to keep base services obvious, I now realize I used the upside down rez ring trick so it might have been missed. It's underneath the pipe in the ceiling in the gym. Had trouble sinking it into the floor in a way that wouldn't get people stuck in the floor when they rezzed in the base so I left the shadow. Winds up working as a water stain. Symmetry, balance, ease of access, with directness towards porting. Port in and immediately know how to get to your targeted zone. As the name suggests: take a break from gaming to just relax, drink, swim, socialize, and chill The keen and experienced player, and especially builders might discover additional access to new construction, open space, and more... ...message me in game for a clue.. ok... quick clue. "warm hands make for chill revelations.." Added a similar "clue" near the base entry. Intent was to make it challenging and fun to find a "hidden" teleport. It's not that difficult, but you do need to find the right view angle to click on the beacon. When you do find the teleport, you'll find a teleport room taking you to additional locations as well as being able to free fly outside of the base. a space dock a power/maintenance/storage room direct port to the Falcon Restoration Project definitely walk around the Falcon There are numerous items that are created out of numerous other items, so please note when reviewing. Go straight after entering, open your map, and continue in a westerly direction. This is the only path forward. It twists, but doesn't split. It is meant to feel like you are getting lost in the woods, making the main area hard to find. If you go east from the base portal instead, this will lead to other portals. Continuing east and walking through a bush will lead to a hidden shortcut portal (if you're boring or lazy 😉 ) Main area: The pathway through here in basically a circle. If you get really lost, just keep walking and following the wooden planks. You'll get somewhere eventually. Hidden areas: There is a hidden cave entrance in the swimming pond (portal is marked by a blue crystal), a pixie village near the swimming pond, and an underground study under the training area. Services: This is a fully functional base, but all of the service items are hidden as I personally find them ugly. 1

Squidget Posted Saturday at 11:04 PM Posted Saturday at 11:04 PM (edited) That's a shame to hear, but understandable - base touring can eat up a LOT of time, especially when it needs to be scheduled for so many people. While my base (GARDENS-18790) is (hopefully) pretty open and easy to navigate, there are a few hidden locations! For the first - at the Pavilion Terrace, a single sitting rock for cute dates (a smooch rock, if you will) has no real view, whereas the others typically overlook something. But, a rocky path along the water can be seen... (Once you find this one, go around the side in the hidden cavern and check the tiny pool of water underneath the glowing crystal!) For the second - in the Deep Caverns, the winding, crumbled trail upwards leads to a single rock suspended by vines. But, across the tiny pool, perhaps foliage conceals more...? For the third, in the water - only because this thing's REALLY hard to spot. Blue Glaucus! Tiny. Edited Saturday at 11:12 PM by Squidget 1 1
Goblinman Posted Sunday at 01:36 AM Posted Sunday at 01:36 AM Tour Notes for Lil Pad ( ABODE-37697 ) on Everlasting by @Goblinman Secret areas include a sewer hideout and a shroom adventure. I recommend using the teleporter in the mushroom farm boxcar (zayin) last, after exploring the other areas. The vast majority of the work in this base went into creating the skyline, which takes up nearly all the available space outside the explorable areas. Each building is a unique façade, designed to function at visscale 2. There's a lot of them, too, and many are only visible from certain locations. For Dubsy's shroom farm, I did some research into how real mushroom farms work. I also created a dice roller table to randomize the rocks and shrooms. Just don't ask how he got a boxcar on the roof. I couldn't figure out how to finish the back of the church, so I smashed a spaceship into it! The church is implied to be abandoned since the Rikti invasion. There's a small secret area hidden behind the crates in the construction scaffolding. Signs of Kings Row villain activity can be found throughout the base. Be on the look out for deactivated Clockwork, the entrance to a Skulls hideout, a Lost prayer circle, and a Vahzilok sewer surgery station. The sewer entrance chasm is as wide and tall as the entire rest of the base, and is hidden behind the skyline. Mandog's sewer hideout is a functional area for crafting and storage. There's an enhancement table hidden in front of the medical station. Shroomhenge is hidden above/behind the skyline using sightline trickery. Soundscaping was created by adding numerous sound generating items below the water & terrain. The Shadow Shard portal on the back of the island is a "bad trip". Special thanks to @Cryptek_Fashionista for mentorship and suggestions! 1 1

Well I believe that I was thorough enough in my original post to direct the Judges to everywhere on the Map that is important or worth seeing as part of the intended experience. If anything I mentioned was NOT discovered on review let me know and I can get better instructions up, probably with some screenshots to show where certain access paths are located. 1

David is a mutant, and is able to use his mind to help or harm others. He began his company to research the mutant gene and seek to help those that are born as he was. While the city itself is home to a normal population, Prescott leads a group of mutants that primarily headquarter below the city. Several group assets are accessible via several locations in the city. Notably, the mansion in the northeast corner, Apex Shipping, ACME warehouse, and the Gentech Laboratory building. (Note: there is nowhere you can enter that you can get "stuck" - there is always at least one way out of somewhere you enter. I was limited by intra-base teleport points). Highlights of the city are: Mansion Row to the south and east, Lola's Cocktails and Rays to the west, city hall to the southwest, Gentech HQ and Laboratory to the southwest, Prescott Manor to the northeast. There are lots of retail, restaurant, and commercial spaces as well. Enjoy your explorations! Visscale 5 recommended. Most of the services available to SGs are under the city. There are 5 ways to get there. I've listed them. The ACME warehouse has 2 ways to get below the city. The other locations have 1 each. 1

SupaFreak Posted Monday at 02:45 AM Posted Monday at 02:45 AM (edited) Not because I actually believe it will help any, but maybe someone out there likes 1 or more of the ideas and decides to use it in future... In worship/resurrection room, our Inspiration bin is upside down and clickable at the base of the floating flame things (x2). In storage room, only the light grey lockbox shows - which is our access to Salvage Bins (x8) And last but not least, at the entry and 2 per teleporter bays in main room the glowing Magenta Crystals each house a Pillar of Ice and Flame (12 total). In all honesty, I would dread being the judges for this contest because there is soooo much to see and take in within each creator's base. A lot of which some of them have seen before. Like, I didn't realize someone else did an Eden Crystal cavern until after I did mine (referring to Rat City base in which I watched video of afterwards). Edited Monday at 11:08 PM by SupaFreak 1
Mike.Richards Posted Monday at 10:14 AM Posted Monday at 10:14 AM (edited) Hi everyone, I am sorry to hear aboput the tours not happening. I really would have gotten up at 3am itf it would have helped. My base doesn't have 'hidden areas' as such, but it has a few nice features, and a handful of NPC stories going on that you might miss if you were not clued in to begin with. So I made the following 'comic book' page to showcase the bits I am particularly happy with. Legends of the City Base These are the points of interest I would be pointing out on a tour. Blue Metal - sorry for the link and not an image. I don't use forums much and have no ide ahow to make my imgur show as a picture. Edited Monday at 10:16 AM by Mike.Richards purals fix and an apology for not knowing how to operate a forum post. 1 1

After crossing through the portal, she's now hiding out in Boomtown (the location of the base) gathering supplies and 'supporters' from refugee Praetorians. Extra info: A lot of the base elements revolve around the various thug pets you can get - you'll find weapons organised for the enforcers, crates of explosives (and things like present bombs) for the pyro, various melee weapons for the gang war power, and heavy weapons. You can guess who's who. The vault usually has more passwords, but I left it at 2 for ease of access. (if you get warped in place, see it as an incorrect code entered 🙂 ) The vault has hidden bombs to blow up unwanted guests (under the exit terminal, on the shelf, and behind the crates). You'll find hidden speakers everywhere. (~mind control~) Posters in the warehouse section have shurikens/holes blown into them - adds a bit of flavour of why there's random Arachnos and Freedom Corp posters around, which also were used just tried to add a bit of colour to the base. If you look on the ground you'll see some of the missed throws. The inspiration table can be accessed by clicking the bottom of the reactor - it was too big and bulky and ruined the vibe out in the open. As Praetoria is technically destroyed, the hidden portals to it are connected to the teleporter you enter the base through. As stated, the location of the base is Boomtown, the sewer access between the workout area for the brute and the vending machine/crates allows you to access the hero zones - all reachable by the Sewer Speed Boat Transit System™. Lastly, I'm a big fan of environmental story telling. There's way too much to list in this post, but some stand outs are: the distrust of synthetic fruit used in Praetoria, so the supplies for the survivors are being scanned // the arms dealer has a bin across from him with discarded burner phones // The dead (read: harvested) bodies are left beside the toilets so the smell is disguised // A chocolate bar stuck in the vending machine. // There's a stolen pillar of fire and ice in the vault // A fire extinguisher is under the mixing table for when Moxx's beats literally catch fire... As you look around think a bit more why something is placed where it is and hopefully you'll piece the story elements together. I build a lot of bases and the whole challenge of this one was to see if I could build a base using the indoor spaces and a smaller map. It's probably not important for judging, but this detail is something I'm proud of because all my other bases tend to use the largest layout, and build above and below the indoor space. I tried my best to mess with the perspective so the outside world looks bigger than it actually is... Spoiler and in a lot of cases I had to use the small space to cram a lot of detail in for the desired effect - here's an example: Edited 6 hours ago by NyxiaSnow
johng99 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It is truly amazing how much base-builders are able to do with that, shall we say, less than modern base editor. 2
