EnnVee Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) I am here to IMPLORE a change to the "HELP ME" tag on players, it's very confusing to see names in TEAMMATE GREEN who are NOT teamed with me. in places like Atlas where we have high traffic this is leading to confusion and mild aggravation among many players. Please reconsider a color such as HELP ME or even perhaps HELP ME I know it might seem like something small, but for someone like me, with a brain injury, this is becoming very tiresome and it's honestly making me not want to play !! There are enough great changes in the game, I don't have the mental function to deal with random people appearing as if they were teamed with me! I have to leave my team window open now just to be sure I'm solo and didn't mis-click and invite someone by mistake ! Messages like this one are asked multiple times a day, please change the color of this one tag!! PLEASE !! This is to show that while I am SOLO, it would appear by sight, that I am teamed with the person. This just feels off, and again I BEG YOU to change the color of the HELP ME tags Edited June 29 by EnnVee 4 2
Rudra Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Orange is Helper and purple is Roleplayer. Will need a different color.

ACTUALLY Helper is more of a GOLD Color than "Caution Orange", but hey I'm open to ANYTHING that is NOT teammate GREEN !!!! Edited June 29 by EnnVee
EnnVee Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 (edited) in all honesty, I would be happy to see the tag changed to HELP ME Red, as this would make at least me stop to see what's wrong, and how I could help Edited June 29 by EnnVee
Forager Posted June 29 Posted June 29 (edited) Yeah that seems like a significant oversight. Unless the logic was that a Help Me player should be treated like a teammate? This is a new change, right? I am hearing that a fix might already be in the works, but I am not a GM nor do I have any way of knowing if what I am hearing is true, so I took to the forums just in case and can only hope that a change is coming ! Laucianna Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Gods I am glad someone else feels the same, the amount of time I have not invited people to my team because I see their name as green and assume they are already in is more then I am happy to admit, which when the person is literally asking for help, is 10x worse imo. A bright red to help get attention would be a good idea and help those of us who do like to help, see who needs it more clearly 💛 2 ❤️ Kheldian Guide ❤️ 🎖️ Friday Fashion Contest 🎖️ 🗒️Character Wiki🗒️Friendly reminder that no matter what anyone or anything is saying, you ARE loved AND valued in life no matter what.
Troo Posted July 2 Posted July 2 +1 I'd make those needing help standout the most. Gold Green is often associated with new, so it does make sense why that was selected. Helper, maybe go with an helper, assistance, medic color. White "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum

Teammate Green was never intended to be used for anything other than your actual teammates. This was a mistake, and a color choice that was rushed to get things out I believe. I know it was mentioned that purple was RP color, but I don't ever recall seeing a tag for RPer..... as I am not one, it VERY WELL COULD EXIST, but I have never seen a purple name with a RP tag. That being said, I hope it get's changed because its causing a lot more trouble than it's helping anyone with a green "help me" tag right now. Suggestions of an alternative color HELP ME - cc3300 this is my personal choice as it would make those needing help stand out the most HELP ME - #ff6633 HELP ME - #ffff00 HELP ME - #666600 HELP ME - #ff00ff HELP ME - #999933
Rudra Posted July 2 Posted July 2 3 minutes ago, EnnVee said: HELP ME - cc3300 This one. Not actually red, but sufficiently so that it grabs attention for 'distress'. Without risk of clashing with anything else that may be red and possibly confusing me.
Troo Posted July 2 Posted July 2 @EnnVee you can checkout the colors/labels in-game at Menu>Help and the dropdown. "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
Troo Posted July 2 Posted July 2 oof it is not so easy to pick a color or very similar color that doesn't already mean something. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Con_System Dark Gray Light Gray Green Blue White Yellow Orange Purple "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
Forager Posted July 2 Posted July 2 (edited) Sky blue is probably the best choice, in my opinion. Or at least what they call Sky blue in AE. It's a brighter, lighter blue than the one used for player names. So if you're looking for the difference you can see it, and if you're not it won't really affect you. I am not asking to REMOVE the option, I am asking the COLOR of THIS SPECIFIC OPTION be changed to a NON TEAMMATE COLOR its confusing, throws off League leaders and New players alike, and my brain keeps getting confused as to why I have a teammate I never invited ?!?! Brain injury for the loss...... But I am IN NO WAY asking to take away the option to color the names based on the role, just asking the HC team to NOT use teammate green 1
Starhammer Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I wonder if it would be feasible to change the color to a two-tone to both make it stand out and simultaneously not appear the same as any other standard colors for help status or enemy con. Like maybe a Red/Yellow...
Troo Posted July 6 Posted July 6 (edited) one solution is on beta Edited July 6 by Troo "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
EnnVee Posted July 7 Author Posted July 7 22 hours ago, Troo said: one solution is on beta I can support this change as the TAG is defined, and the character Name is now more obvious as it no longer looks like I would be "teamed up" with someone who is simply looking for assistance
