Black Hole - Final Verdict

Describing the universe as "in" a black hole is misleading. The black hole is more properly understood as an event that caused our universe (space-time manifold) to expand into existence.

I believe it hypothetically answers three questions:

1. What caused or preceded the Big Bang.

2. Why was there low entropy at the start of the universe.

3. Why is there an observable spin to galaxies (ie they seem to inexplicably be spinning in the same direction). This would be explained by the spin of a black hole being passed on.

I will never get to see it, but leave it as before, no trawl.  Except instead of phase shift hit a whammy mix of -tohit, immobilize, -fly, and a mag 2 stun.    None of these are ground breaking effects, all are in Dark powers nearly everywhere.  20' radius, 30sec duration  For anyone moving into/through the area as well.

I recently made a new /dark troller and took Black Hole to see what's up.  I'm all for getting the hashtag #snarkywasright trending, because he is about Black Hole.  I guess it could be helpful if you have a melee teammate and you want to bunch mobs a bit tighter on them.  For me solo on a pyro/dark, it doesn't do anything at all that I can use .  The radius is smaller than that of my aoes.  I'll be respeccing out of it.  Add to that I have to remember to NOT use it for zone GM fights.  I was in a War in the Vale recently and I've been in the habit of using Black Hole and was about to use it on Jack but fortunately remember that's just going to phase him.

Never used it but my fix would be increase radius, drop the intangible, increase the trawl and add that -tohit and DOT damage for soul crushing gravity.

I have no recollection of ever using it before but I did pick up one of my dark toons the other day (I don't have many) and it had Black Hole. It was not well slotted but I tried it a few times and I got it and I actually found I quite liked it. I understand what it's meant to do and it does actually seem to do it

 

Make of this what you will  but I was pleasantly surprised at how it functioned and what it does.

The original Black Hole had limited uses, but quite handy with a team accidentally pulling more than they should.

 

The revised version I avoid like pineapples on pizza.
