Dusting off my old WM/SD build, I took some newer lessons I've learned, the latest SD build I could find here, put something together, and gave it a test try on some Council in Brainstorm.

In the words of the man: Good Gawd Awmighty.

So, apparently putting the Critical Strikes proc in Shatter, and leading both my AoE and ST rotations with it, turned her into a one hero wrecking crew. I had never seen that many 'CRITICAL' pop-ups at one time. And the proc and criticals pop up more on ST than it does on my DM/WP. Spawns were clearing at near-team like speeds and even the bosses didn't take long to wear down. I even managed to make end use manageable, and the only real issue is with runners that survive the initial onslaught and taunt aura. Other than that, wow. She was putting my tanks and brutes to shame.

Posting the build here to share and in case I'm missing anything, but I'm pretty happy with the results I've seen so far.

I have never seriously tried Warmace, and think it's about time I started making a build. I am currently playing an Axe/Inv Scrapper - another primary I've never really dabbled in before and the raw damage from it is kind of surprising. How would you compare Warmace to Axe? Or something like Broadsword? I feel like after playing Axe, Broadsword pays a bit too much from how much damage it does because it has Parry as part of its kit.

I've yet to try either Broadsword or Axe, actually. My currently sole scrapper at 50 is DM/WP and this puts him in the dust, though I should revisit that build to see if I can slot the Crit Strikes proc better. I'm curious to see what an Axe build would be like too, it seems like its the new hotness among scrappers.

Was I wrong to stick the proc in Clobber? I want it in place so I can then use Shatter:

Hmmm...maybe I should invert them?

This has been the conventional wisdom and it definitely works when it works.

On my ancient WM/SD Scrap I had the set up like Skorry does and preferred that. Going Shatter into Crowd Control on a boss in the middle of a pack is chef's kiss.

I think WM has enough flexibility that it's "shooter's preference" where you want CS proc.

I have a couple Warmace chars.   It's a good set.   On my brute with a shield, and my tank is a willpower.

It plays a little different from Ax, but they're both fairly fun.

Yeah, I put it in Shatter so I could have the proc up not just for Whirling but also for Clobber since it has the highest DPA. (At least on Mids. If that's off, let me know.)

Can definitely see the merit to that. Given my guy is WM/Nin, I could "rely" (70% chance I think) on the crit from stealth to Shatter into groups and have a bit more oomph to drop on bosses.

I have a WM/SD and very much like it. I put the ATO2 in Clobber. Yes, Clobber is dumb awesome but the proc has the highest chance (I think I'm remembering right?) to go off in that attack so that was my logic with it.

Build Up. Clobber. Crowd. Whirling. Ball Lightning. Shield Charge. Mob dead. Bosses low.

I've got a Space Marine (Ultra) and steampunk Captain America costume for mine.

I've got my Stronk/Pretty WM/EnA - Looks like I tossed it into Shatter, as well. Absolute GIGGLE fits when I get CC and WM both off under the window.

My philosophy with the CS proc with War Mace (and Battle Axe, and Broadsword) is to put it in the high end small-number-of-targets AoE like Shatter/Cleave/Headsplitter and to try to make sure that the attack hits at least two opponents if there are at least two left.  Yes, that means you are not going to get increased critical chances for that power.  But Shatter is in my single-target rotation as well as my AoE rotation so I don't have to actively think about my attack selection, and the proc has a chance to go off for each enemy hit (no stacking!) so your overall chances of activation per attack are generally superior.
