What does this mean for the Wiki and you fine folks? Nothing really... Every month folks make sure there is enough to keep the lights on.  And assuming that doesn't change, then the wiki will stay up.  It does however mean, that since I'll (hopefully) be getting a new job at some point soon, I likely won't have as much time available to fix things.  My current job was WFH, and it's REALLY unlikely I'll get lucky and fall into another one of those.

 

I.. don't know what I really intended to say here... Thank you all, for everything you do.  Every one of you have made the wiki a better place for everyone to learn from.  I'm glad I'm able to help in giving that a place to be.  Thank you.

Victory has been a new quiet place to play my favorite game.    My own employer started to swing the opposite direction this summer after years of small growth even under Covid and cost cutting by eliminating office space and other non people overhead but no more.     My own team just eliminated open vacant jobs and plans not to backfill jobs with upcoming fall retirements.  The revenue forecast is shifting from  optimistic break even to negative or now super negative for FY 26/27 with promised government program dollars cut (we are still obligated to provide services), tariffs up/down and ever present inflation nibbling on things.

Not knowing where your next paycheck will come from or how you will make a living is inherently uncertain. You don’t know where life will be taking you and you’re preemptively saying goodbye to us just in case the unthinkable happens and you are forced to spend less time with us or worse no time. And I for one appreciate your gesture. It shows you care, and in my book that’s what is most important. 
 

My work situation is also up in the air at the moment, so I completely understand where you’re coming from. I am grateful you took the time to set up this wiki when no one else would. I was asking for a Homecomjng wiki when Homecoming first started up. Your gracious and generosity shines through everything you do and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I know I’m not the only one here at the wiki who thinks this, but I am very thankful for you, and hold you in high esteem. Another way of saying this is merely that I’m very fond of you. Thank you for giving us wiki editors a place where we can make a difference. 
 

All that said, don’t worry overly much. You’ll always have a home here, even if you disappear for years. It is Homecoming, after all. So go. Focus on what you need to, and get things settled and your life stable again. There’s an old saying “RL>COH”, and it’s not wrong.  I doubt there is anything I can do to help, but if there is please don’t hesitate to ask. 
 

So good luck, @Michiyo.  I hope for a quick and speedy resolution to your situation, and that it all works out well. Just always remember you’re a hero. Act like it, even if you don’t believe it, and things will work out.
