Spending close to an hour going through costume parts to get your character JUUUST RIGHT, then clicking the Bio Armor toggles and you are an unrecognizable lump of whatever. 😩🙄

There are Minimal FX options for Hardened Carapace, Environmental Modification and Evolving Armor. This gets rid of most of the offending stuff except Ablative Carapace. If you have the City Mod Installer, there's a Bio Armor Effects Remover which addresses that as well.

Yeah my recommendation is to customize the bio armor parts first, between minimal fx and color swapping, get the look you want to play with, THEN customize the costume around it.

There are some cool combinations you might discover doing that.

 

But yeah, some sets are like that.

It's cooler when you can combine costume parts and powers to get a more specific look you want.

I have some characters who just don't look right without their toggles on.

 

Skin Condition just wouldn't be the same without Bio Armor.

This is the biggest reason I've never created a single Bio Armor or Stone Armor character. 

I do have an Ice Armor, but that's got better Minimal Fx options and even the solid ice blocks of original are still translucent.

There are two ways to go.  You can embrace the ugly and make a monster, like I did with my Spines/Bio Brute

  

 

Or go with minimal FX, like my Iron Fist homage Energy melee/Bio Stalker.

Not overly thrilled with how they did Bio-Armor myself...it could have been done soooo much better visually speaking. The power set itself though is decent at least. 😉 lol
