MalphiteMeIRL Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Trying to decide between bots/traps or bots/traps for a tankermind build. What are some of the pros and cons to each?
kelly Rocket Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 You want /Traps for the Tankermind build. If you weren't going Tankermind, I'd definitely say Time, but Tankermind you absolutely HAVE to have mez protection, and Time doesn't provide that, while Traps does.
MalphiteMeIRL Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 With time I was thinking Clarion + possibly RoP would be enough mez prot. Is this not the case? (That said prior to 50 it would have issues vs CC) Btw I appreciate the input, on paper time seems monstrous but in practice things can be different.
kelly Rocket Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Clarion is a Destiny slot power, that's the second to last slot that's even been implemented, so you're talking about doing the whole game to 50 and then also tha vast majority of the Incarnate content without it. Rune of Protection can only be brought to 90 out of 120 uptime, and that's at the absolute recharge cap. Sooo...
Rebel230 Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 What is a tankermind build? Does anyone have the build in in pines or can copy paste it so I can see, my bots/traps is 47. Thank you
SmalltalkJava Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 I don’t have a build. But from reading the forums both are really strong in group and solo. it’s kind of a pick your poison type of deal. Thank you A “tankermind” is a style of bots/traps build that soft caps positional defenses and uses provoke to keep attention on the mastermind rather than the pets. The mez protection is important to avoid ... well... mezzes. I don’t have a build anymore, but if you search for Plainguy’s posts on the old forums, you can find a couple for any primary paired with traps. It should be a little easier now to build for this in Homecoming. The Splintered Soul Project: (Nyght****) 21 and counting (18 max). Double triage beacon. You basically trip mine, provoke and just continue to drop trip mines at your feet. using the keypad controls works best and you need to add stay on the period key to keep the pets behind you as you provoke and not to have them chasing mobs. Once you hit Zero numpad key for all mobs just hit 7 key to attack a mob.. and then you just need to stick to hitting Period key to stay and then 7 to attack. Provoke, Trip mine, 7 key, period key, Trip mine, Provoke, 7 key, period key. Its usually mobs behind you. Caltrops at tip of triage beacon triangle, You standing on triage beacon, Pets also getting hit by triage beacon, Just keep dropping Caltrops to keep the mobs moving. It will force them to move. But then your provoke will pull them back. Oppressive gloom works as a stun AND another form of aggro on you. Force field generator has to be behind you as well, because it will get aggro as well. when you get too many mobs.
