Starhammer Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I think this might be most relevant to @Cobalt Arachne. I've been going through hundreds of alts lately and resaving costumes (Lost a hard drive recently and all my other backups were way out of date), and I'm noticing a LOT of instances where if the costume I'm about to save had a space listed as "none" it may have some random other costume piece in it or a piece from a previously loaded character. It happens especially often with ears and tails. I wonder if this could be prevented if the "none" listing for a costume slot was actually some invisible piece actually taking up the space, rather than an empty slot phantom pieces might pachinko their way into? I could be wrong of course. 1
WanderingAries Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I don't think this would really work as imagined, but I also don't see this being an issue Unless you've got an OLD costume file from before something was added (much later) and the database is somehow giving an incorrect response when importing the old file. I'm not sure I've really seen this aside from Maybe something on live where a character had to unlock something, but that's stretching a memory that may actually be pulling from MIDs importing issues instead of costumes. 1 OG Server: Pinnacle <||> Current Primary Server: Torchbearer || Also found on the others if desired <||> Generally Inactive Installing CoX: Windows || MacOS || MacOS for M1 <||> Migrating Data from an Older Installation Clubs: Mid's Hero Designer || PC Builders || HC Wiki || Jerk Hackers Old Forums <||> Titan Network <||> Heroica! Forager Posted September 21 Posted September 21 It's not just old or even when loading costume files. This happens to me pretty often when editing a character's existing costumes. I will select a costume to edit at ICON, exit and select a different costume slot to edit at ICON and it will have parts from the first one. It's super annoying. Tails do this all the time, but I get it with Weapons and other parts pretty often. Chris24601 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I’m the same. If I go in to edit a character with shoulder and chest details (say to edit the colors on a new power), then move on to a costume without them and those pieces from the prior costume show up (typically with the default near black/white colors) and you have to go into each affected slot and hit the revert option to remove them. It happens EVERY time I do this so it’s clearly a glitch, but if you’re aware of it, it’s not difficult to mitigate (just start with your costumes with the least number of extra parts and work your way up). I wouldn’t label it a priority, but if it could be fixed somehow it’d be a nice QoL improvement.
