LegionAlpha Posted yesterday at 09:35 PM Posted yesterday at 09:35 PM (edited) I like to get out this is not meant as a suggestion. I am genuinely curious if one could design the perfect city or zone for your main or supergroup what would it be or look like? My zone is a mix of the Imperial City of Praetoria and a bit of Cyberpunk 2077 for my SS/Invul. mutant Brute Saturn Man. All the tech and bright future. Flying cars, parks, jet pack citizens, tubes transports like in Futurama. However with the worst using cybernetics and advanced weapons to commit crimes. It would have the usual villains, Sky Raiders( higher level with cool tech upgrades) and Crey. But with new enemies that look like Servetors from 40K to replace the Freakshow, wild mutations and random solo villains. Like I said, it is not meant as a suggestion, but a random thought made from curiosity while playing. Now a zone can be anything including suburban areas or mystical forests. cranebump Posted yesterday at 10:02 PM Posted yesterday at 10:02 PM (edited) My main characters are weapons-based vigilantes who operate in KR. I'd like to see an expansion of The Row to make it more Gotham-ish -- a dense, run down, city center, with darkened alleyways and all sorts of hidden nooks and stuff (including the really bad "business expansion" idea that resulted in a large, castle-like institution with various wings including a medical facility, and intensive treatment center). Basically, just turn the lights off, and it'd be closer to how I see it. Then we can really show our "moxie.":-) Edited yesterday at 10:07 PM by cranebump I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump. Latex Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago A Praetoria-like zone, but much seedier with drastically changing atmosphere - think Recluses' Victory where Atlas Park becomes Arachnos, or Freedom Phalanx depending on the victors. Honestly, even Kallisti Wharf would work well for my idea. I'd involve the mechanics of Arena Gladiator fights (the matches where you choose NPC's to fight for you, vs others choices) somehow to control territories in the zone, Heroes vs Villains with limited choice NPC's that fight for you on a voting system so all players can contribute. Whatever the players choose (villains and heroes) are who the opposite faction has to fight against. NPC's would be Arachnos themed, as well as choosing specific NPC SuperVillains to lead them. NPC's on Hero side, Longbow themed with Freedom Phalanx Hero choice, players NPC/Gladiator types would be different weapons or 'hiring mercenaries' to help, e.g. Knives of Artemis, or Scrapyarders, whatever works! So, for example; If Villains begin to win territories over the Heroes (and they'll be % increases if villains have lower voting/player pops, or decreases if Heroes have higher) the city will change to reflect that, with Arachnos architecture starting to supplant onto the buildings and skyscrapers, if they 100% win and control the zone then certain Giant Monsters spawn that both sides have to co-opt to defeat because 'it's going to kill us all, not just one side' kinda like what Hamidon is to the story, this initiates a reset that's every 3 days and the zone begins anew. If the Heroes win the zone becomes more like Praetoria, basically the ultimate manifestations of all out Heroism (order) and all out Villainy (chaos), story wise it should end on the idea that balance is required. Probably too much work to actually put into practice, but I think Hero vs Villain needs to have a strong place in City of Heroes and a cool zone would try to bring back that defined 'pick a side' feeling and my idea wouldn't need any PVP to capture that!
