Happy 20th Anniversary, City of Villains!

The best MMORPG of all time launched 20 years ago today.  No, not City of Heroes.  City of Villains!

 

I remember stepping into Breakout on the Liberty server on my Robotics/Force Field Mastermind.  Still my favorite archetype/class in any MMORPG today.

i bought the Good vs Evil Box set.  Fort Darwin, I still miss the madness.  Especially on Double Exp events, when the place was crawling with ne'er-do-wells!

My first villain was an Energy Blast/ Traps Corruptor named Rene d'ille Torte. Boy did he die a lot in the pursuit of evil.

Mine was Rancorous, a SS/Invul Brute. Fun times! Happy 20th COV!

I remember the CoV beta and the ending, then starting out during the early access with a Stalker. They seemed like Scrappers at first, then I unlocked Assassin Blade and it was all I used lol. Then I tried a Corruptor and never looked back!

I remember during the COV beta that I exited a mission in Mercy and popped out in Atlas Park. The drones would zap you, but I got the glitch again and went around the drones and was a villain running inside City Hall.

Ahh the white lotus a Ninja Ninja Stalker and her Ninja Poison MM my first two villains 

 

Lotus MM version was also part of the first all MM SF some insane moments running through caves with dozens of minions creating a massive traffic and graphics pile up

I got and still have the collector's edition. Haven't gotten around to going red on HC (yet) but my main villain back in the day was a Bots/Poison MM. Made for a pretty effective combo I found.
