What AT do you not play at all

My Dominators have avoided having Hasten to guarantee permaDom, but I agree that building to achieve permaDom limits my build approaches such that I feel like that the end result (character) is narrowly: really good at certain controls and really hard to be controlled... which feels niche to me. I do like that Domination refills the blue bar... one more thing to micro-manage via build/play choices. I sometimes love living on that knife's edge... but it is otherwise not that enjoyable for me.

To me it represents a narrow approach to both play and character design.... especially when "permaHasten" becomes a goal in and of itself. I turned off autoHasten on a character I felt really needed it... and I noticed no significant experience in game play, and I haven't really looked backwards.

 

Yeah, I think I take Hasten mostly out of habit nowadays.

I've learned to depend on the SG base +20% recharge buff.  That way you need 'only' about 105% global for perma dom without needing hasten at all.   But really 105% isn't THAT hard to get in the end and is actually slightly less than you need for perma hasten.  I still end up getting hasten usually anyway, but it does take the stress away of having to always remember to click it every 2 minutes while having dom on auto.  Once I build dom the initial time I'm set, for 90 minutes at a time that the SG base buff lasts anyway.  At least I can taking a friggin bathroom break without losing it.

 

I can understand why some wouldn't like to depend on a SG base buff though.

I'm not surprised that the survey shows HEAT/Kheld ATOs are the least used, but I am surprised by how much they are least used. My first 50 on Homecoming is my ongoing badger and highest vet level alt...I still had my bind file from live and my muscle memory was ready and waiting to shift forms all over again!

 

MMs are my absolute least used....I haven't gotten any to 50 and my only attempt on HC has been at level 35 over half a year.  In any case, my breakdown of 50's, not counting farmers, is:

 

Blaster	2
Brute	5
Controller	5
Corruptor	8
Defender	5
Dominator	5
Mastermind	0
Peacebringer	1
Scrapper	6
Sentinel	3
Soldier	1
Stalker	3
Tanker	6

I have at least 1 level 50 of every AT.

 

I was surprised to see that the thing I have most of is controllers.  But I do like them, Defenders, and Corrupters the most.  I also have a bunch of Brutes and Tankers.

 

The things I have the least of are Sentinels, HEATs, VEATs, Stalkers, and Dominators.

 

PS - Are folks hand counting for their posted lists?  Or is there some kind of tool that can do that?

I know a lot of people use a spreadsheet to track characters played.  My spreadsheet is 7 pages covering 3 accounts

I don't think I can say "Never" - I've rolled pretty well every AT in this game at some point but I've not played several to any appreciable level at all.

One day I started a new toon, got into the game and told my buddy what I was going to be playing. Then my buddy said, "wait, don't you already have one of those?" I said no don't be ridiculous, then I checked and sure enough I already had one. I started a spreadsheet the next day!😆

I'd be happy to share my spreadsheet so you could save a copy and replace my toons with yours if you'd like, it'll add up your toons by AT and grand total.

I want to play HEATs, but I cannot. The constant flashing from their powers and shapeshifting hurts my eyes.

 

I am not going to play an AT that requires me to go zero particles.

Spreadsheet of current chars.

What I don't have is all the characters I've retired over the years which would be ~300 at this point.

 

I did try all primary & secondary powersets on most ATs (definitely Sentinels) and ones I just didn't enjoy, got retired. Most once they hit 50.
