  1. I figured the OP was referring more towards Solo players anyway, so it would be a cool idea for those players for sure.
  2. Sounds like it from what I'm reading. I didn't see the update (elsewhere) until after posting initially.
  3. This is why many save their binds either to specific names or even archive them into other places just in case something bad happens.
  4. That's not being projected onto your chat window, it's being scaled down to that part of the screen. That's probably either a graphics driver issue or simply the game's visual settings gone awry, hence why the above suggestion would work.
  5. That and the game has evolved over time. IDK where those specs came from (original or updated), but I'm sure the min specs had some vertical creep by the time we got to sunset.
  6. I vaguely remember Playing CoX on 32bit laptops originally (Win XP?) and dealing with the fact that it Would crash if the game tried to use more than say 1.5 ~ 1.75 Gb of my 4 Gb of RAM. As for "old computers", I'm STILL using the PC I built ~2010 for CoX, but it's 64bit, so I won't run into the same restrictions at this point. Hell, I can run Win11 on this thing. 😛 I know that not everyone (Read: "Me Too" for quite a while) has the budget for a new system, but you could quite easily pick up a used computer (Old W@H business desktops are good) that has at least the core hardware that's a marginal step up for not too much. Maybe check with a local repair shop to see if they have anything they could coble together from spare parts.
  7. Yeah, it's never advised to mix work and play as your IT could quite easily have access to things you don't want from the game (credentials, what you type, etc).
  8. So this isn't a commentary about us GenX players. Got it!
  9. IDK, saw the trailer and not a fan of the cast choices TBH. Doesn't help that I generally don't like JB for some reason, but when I look at the rest I get a Nope vibe.
  10. Is this an extension of the work from the past couple years or a complete new effort?
  11. Aside from the drag-drop of the interface, it's mostly intuitive TBH.
  12. The little I know of the code / database (and that's not much) has many things hard coded to origins. The obvious ones would be the SOs, DOs, etc. That's in a way related to what you're talking about (Enh wise). This would be the kind of thing that would be good to add to a CoX 2.0 (complete rebuild from scratch).
  13. "I vant to suck...(line, line!)...your blood"
  14. Short of a Linux based mod, not likely as to do it legit they'd have to invest quite a lot. They'd need no less than one dev kit ($1.5k easy), licensing fees, probably Sony specific server fees, and that's Before you talk about getting the code working for the platform.
  15. This is how "I" read the OP's post, so that's a big Nope for me. All reasons have already been stated.
  16. Not yet, but I also haven't played one of their games in ages, so I may have been lost in a previous database purge.
  17. I'm assuming you've checked this since you Have Test, but did you check the gear / settings to make sure that the other servers aren't hidden?
  18. Nothing should be gone unless you had alts in the beta server as that gets reset periodically IIRC. While you may have forgotten the account name, there's a chance that you may still use the associated Email address. I'd start looking there (old emails) to see which one it might be as once you have That (give or take a forum pwd reset, then you'll be able to reset the associated Game account password as well.
  19. I'm sure someone will chime in later with details, but each server has a subforum and within that are threads for this
  20. Hence the spaghetti code issue that's plagued the game the whole time. IDK how game engines work, coding wise, but I imagine that one who does understand it would say that the assets would have to be made compatible with the databases and so forth.
  21. Isn't that how that function works though? In order to grab the badges (for example) it had to literally print it to a certain tab (or maybe it just read that tab?).
  22. Check ALL of your email accounts you may use. I use one account for the main and another on a different service (same name) for my alt account, so something as simple as Yahoo vs Google could be it. Keep in mind that some people did silly stuff like use throwaway email accounts or that Apple fake email thing too.
