For me, personally, even just the 'something similar' would be nice. Having lived in two tropical environments, the lack of snow makes sense, but even Floridians and Hawaiians put up Christmas lights, lol. A 'decorating' of the Aeon City statue, for me, would be amazing; doesn't need to be a whole zone kind of thing. Would be nice, but not a breath holding kind of situation since so few seem even remotely interested in giving anything to Redside. So, Piecemeal, even just having thought about it is nice. Thank you.

Oh, you mean like the several holiday areas that exist already, that this current Dev team worked on? Revised Atlas and the new Winter area? This suggestion is simply taking pre-existing resources and applying them to pre-existing areas that they've never been applied to before. Also, the sheer volume of low impact QOL updates that are constantly rolled out pretty much invalidates the rebuttal. Players blueside have no extra need to create something festive because they already have it; anything that is made is extra. Redside gets absolutely nothing, so this QOL suggestion seems, to me, to have a rather significant impact. Edit: Because, I forgot about Echo Plaza, too. A whole zone. So yes, how about you let the Devs determine where they spend their time and not attempt to rug-sweep a suggestion for Redside.

1.) Base building is a labor of love that not everyone enjoys. 2.) Bases are whatever you want them to be and only accessible to those with the code. 3.) Bases aren't the main, public zones, and thereby are not Redside anything. 4.) The OP is about giving event love to the Isles, not about building something in the bases to simply pretend that the Isles got some attention.

New Chat Channel so we can finally use our indoor voices for RP
Bay replied to BlackHearted's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
General (/z) is anything but useless. The entire intent behind it was to give players a place (channel) to converse without needing to be on a team, league, or zone-chat that wasn't LFG or Help, since general conversations would break out there rather frequently. As for the topic matter, while I'm not an RP'er myself I can see the benefits to this and have my two cents to add in; don't worry, I can break change. 1.) Perhaps change the name from Whisper, since that implies near private conversation, to something like Personal (/p), given the conversation is happening in/around/near your character's 'personal bubble' that's normally a rather short distance. 2.) Alternatively, change the range of Local to the shorter distance and then have the new channel be something more like Regional or Area Chat; no useful suggestions on command shortcut for the last two. Personally, I'd have the larger chat area command be /stfu since anybody talking at volume enough to be heard 100' feet away is usually eliciting thoughts of people wanting them to shut up/quiet down, lol. -
Lightning Rod (Tanker version) has a chance to fail
Bay replied to GM Impervium's topic in Bug Reports
Nope. The part above that about creating Pets_Lightning_Rod_Scrapper. Shield Defense has that line in the Tanker entry, but not in the Elec Melee one. -
Lightning Rod (Tanker version) has a chance to fail
Bay replied to GM Impervium's topic in Bug Reports
I've attached two screenshots taken from the City of Data website that shows an interesting difference between Scrapper and Tanker Lightning Rod. I looked at Shield Defense on both AT's and noticed they looked the same and figured that there might be something to it. However, I have no understanding of where the information for City of Data comes from or how it is extracted, so not entirely sure if this is a viable source of information for identifying the issue. Specifically, the Tanker listing is lacking the 'Create Entity' line that is present in all the others. Assuming this information is not manually entered and is extracted directly from the game, is it possible that this could somehow be the source of the issue? For reference: Scrapper Lightning Rod Tanker Lightning Rod -
Lightning Rod (Tanker version) has a chance to fail
Bay replied to GM Impervium's topic in Bug Reports
Minor necroposting since I've just started playing a Bio/Elec Tank and noticed this issue. I did some asking around and minor (amateur) testing to come up with the following. Confirming that there is zero ToHit roll when the issue occurs. Tested while standing still using both manual placement and powexeclocation target macro. Consensus of those participating in the discussion was that, somehow, the pseudo-pet was being spawned beneath the map instead of on the functional surface of the map. All tests were done in Perez Park, against Skulls standing on the sidewalk and street hoping that the flat surface would remove geometry deviations. Best suggestion/idea I can come up with would be to somehow adjust the hitbox targeting, if that's even a thing, of the pseudo-pet. Maybe a way to target a mob's upper hitbox (head) but animate to the feet? I have a crazy idea to test and will edit to report back findings. [Edit] Just ran through Perez testing against Hellions. Out of 50 uses of Tank Lightning Rod, all 50 successfully rolled ToHit and landed. I used "powexeclocation u:2" on all 50 uses. Not sure how conclusive it works out to be, but it looks to me like the pseudo-pet is, in fact, spawning under the map on occasion, thus preventing it from doing anything. -
Use: You have a stream that you ONLY do when you play a certain character and you ONLY advertise when you're on that particular character. When on any other character you do not stream, therefore you do not advertise, so you do not deserve a Global ignore. Secondary use: event advertisement accounts that are common on Everlasting, in the very least, and have other characters associated with that Global; not worth a Global ignore unless I want to not team with that person on ANY character. While a great alternative solution, I'm not entirely sure it would accomplish the desired goal effectively. Most of the accounts that have caused me to want a local ignore are almost daily occurrences that would result in a macro being created for specific names. However, I could easily see the application of this for those times when someone's being a dick about something in General (haha, double meaning intended) and you want to give them the benefit of the doubt of having a bad day. For that purpose/reason, I'd suggest renaming the command to /timeout since that's more-or-less what you're putting them in, at least on your end.

I can't recall if ignoring only a Local name used to be a thing back on Live or not, I rarely ignored anyone back then. Recently though I've found myself staring and sighing at chat wishing I could ignore just a single character, not the entire Global name. Is there any chance, whatsoever, that this can be added as a feature, or if it did exist at one point, re-enabled for use once again? Most situations Global ignore is sufficient to match the reason for ignoring someone, however it does not always apply. There are some that roleplay and their LFG advertisements are annoying; I don't want to ignore the entire Global account, just that one time they opt to type that way. Not to mention with the return of streaming, there have been times I've seen streamers advertising and I really just don't care, but I'm sure they're decent players and not deserving of a total, Global ignore. plz devs? /gignore and /Lignore or something similar?

What's the best blaster for soloing past lv50 in your opinion?
Bay replied to JORGE MARRTIN's topic in Blaster
I have a Fire/Martial Combat/Fire that was a joy leveling up and then to take on Trials. Couple of months ago I got interested in running Speedies with a group and discovered the combo held up damn well. I respec'd based on observations from the speed runs and other Fire Blasters on the team and now his performance is a minor bit better. For speed tactics I dropped Rain of Fire, but for general content running, Bonfire + Rain of Fire is a very potent combination; would occasionally run +4/x8 Council teams that did not require a Tank/Meat-shield so long as I could lead with Bonfire. Alternatively, I have a Water/Dark/Scorpion Blaster that has been tons of fun and is looking like its going to take over for my #1 go-to character for just about everything. Tidal Force + Soul Drain + Geyser = lolwutmob? But, as has already been said above, the Blaster you know the best can, and will, survive damn near anything you put it up against; the only thing holding you, or anyone, back is budget for an optimized build. Plenty of times I've seen optimized builds (min/max) fall short in survivability 'against' someone who's play-style is more tactical. -
My search-fu is substandard so I apologize, in advance, if this has already been suggested somewhere and I was unable to find it to 'upvote'. Suggesting a look be taken at the slash command target_custom_next to see if parameters can be added for target rank. Being able to target based on Pet, Underling, Minion, Lieutenant, Boss, Elite Boss, ArchVillain, Hero, Villain, and Object would be amazing, to list what I can think of off the top of my head and by no means all-inclusive. This coming about after street sweeping for 500 Escaped Prisoners in Brickstown and then the remaining amount of the required (200) Prisoner Bosses. Their names are diverse, highly random (from what I can see) and nearly impossible to make a macro containing all their names for hunting purposes. Additional application being the ability to "target_custom_next rank object" to locate that last, hard to see, hard to hear, nearly microscopic bomb you need to arm, or the pile of rubble in the massive Boomtown style outdoor map. Aside from expediting speed hunting strategies it also allows for standard content running to target a Boss for those like Rad Defenders to plop their toggles onto much easier.

Villain, Spider Smasher, Show's Over, and Lawbreaker seem like they'd fit the term 'Invader' in a loose Praetorian sense. All that would need to be changed is adding a few more opportunities for Longbow and Wolf Spiders to appear in either repeatables or in-zone somewhere/somehow. Accolade could read something to the affect of "Your hard work towards preventing Praetoria from being invaded has earned you this accolade."

Came here to report something very similar. I can confirm that left-clicking a name in chat and then pressing 'N' returns invalid command and that left-clicking on a channel name and pressing 'S' failed to auto-populated the channel name. macOS Catalina Version 10.15.7

I could very much get behind that idea as well. Being able to bring up how much is healed by dropping a damage set in would be amazing. In theory I would like to see Scrapper/Stalker Crits possibly also taken into account, but perhaps at a slightly reduced percentage. Base does 75% of Dmg as Heal and Crit is a second tick of, pulling random numbers, 50% of Dmg as Heal. Otherwise I can see that very quickly becoming a broken system. Would be nice to see either of these put into action though. My own limited knowledge of the game's back-end leads me to believe that an Accurate Healing set with Dmg enhancement would probably be the easier/faster of the two to accomplish while maintaining AT balancing.

Running my shiny new Dark Melee/Bio Scrapper these past several days and mentally mapping out sets brought me to an interesting concept/idea/conclusion that, when voiced in /z, garnered 'support' and even got an eves-dropping GM to suggest I come here. So, without further delay, here we go! First time posting here, so please be gentle. New Accurate Healing IO set(s). As it stands we only have two and of those two, only one is 'designed' for level 50. Neither of those two sets enhance Damage, but we do have several powers that inflict damage and return health (Siphon Life as primary example). After a certain point the 'relatively small' heal that Siphon Life gives is almost worth considering respec'ing out of the power at later levels and higher quantity/quality of sets, but the power itself does inflict rather noteworthy damage. To that end, my suggestion is to give Accurate Healing the same treatment as Endurance Modification by giving it at least one (but hopefully more) new sets that have a Damage enhancing element as well. I'm no good at the number crunching and balancing side of things, so unfortunately my suggestion kinda ends there since I wouldn't even begin to know what a viable example would look like. Necromancer's Embrace? Glimpse of Death? Mot's Embrace? Name ideas I can do, but that's about it. And GM Coldpsark, here's looking at you...

While only partially a 'new' badge, so to speak, I think it would be interesting to somehow add a near infinite tier system to the already existing badges. Progress tracking beyond the standard requirements that doesn't add a new badge, just increases the tier up to a certain point. Allows 'casual' badgers to get them all and continues to show progression to those that just don't know when to stop. Example, in rough form: Finder: Defeat 100 Lost bosses. Finder I-X, Finder w/ 'bronze' border I-X, Finder w/ 'gold' border I-X, ad nauseam. Each individual tier could either stay the same, increasing with each 100, or possibly even add 5-10 depending on the type/rank of the target mob with each tier. Not something that would add to your badge count, but it would certainly spice up your badge list in a visual way. For the truly deranged, could even add a series of Accolades to the affect of achieving a certain number of 'Bronze' tier defeat badges: Bronze Age, reach 'Bronze' tier in any 5 Defeat categories; Gold Age, reach 'Gold' tier in any 5 Defeat categories, etc. Massively unrefined and typed a bit on the fly, but a general idea I always thought would be cool to see added.

For that you are a godsend. Would be amazing to have a streamlined means, via suggested command, but this sates my desires. Thanks!

Suggestion: /BadgeSave Works like /BuildSave except it saves a text file of all the badges your character currently has. Purpose: Tracking badge progress outside of the game on things like Badger or a printed copy. While I know it is a niche portion of the community, those types of people do take badge tracking seriously and having something like this would improve said tracking. I honestly have no idea what would be required to implement something like this, but the suggestion popped into my mind and thought it would be a nice feature to have.

SG Name: Caffeinated Crusaders RP/RP Friendly: Lite RP/Very RP Friendly Theme/Era: No theme/Modern SG Redside/Blueside: Blue focus w/ acceptance of Vigilante/Rogue Recruitment Message: The Paragon City exclusive coffee chain, Caffeinated Crusaders, was founded by Caleb Jacobson and Paul Bland in the 1980’s, with the first location opening its doors in Atlas Park. Paul and Caleb had a single mission: provide an experience for both the people and heroes of Paragon City, and serve coffee at the same time. To that end Caffeinated Crusaders boasts a unique decor pattern that is inspired by the city, and heroes, around them. Medium coffee, 2 sugar, no cream? BORING! How about a medium Level One, 2 sugar, no Enhancements. NOW WE’RE TALKING! It was with that mindset that Caffeinated Crusaders became a near overnight sensation. Ever since then the chain has been going strong, expanding into various other parts of the city, and doing what they set out to do: make coffee fun and represent the people of the city. For over 20 years CC’s has grown, donating to various relief funds for those impacted by the Rikti invasions, Arachnos schemes, and villainous attempts to destroy, enslave, or otherwise damage the beautiful Paragon City. Now, for the first time ever, the Crusaders are expanding their business outreach with a not-for-profit branch by enlisting the aid of meta-humans to help keep the streets safe. Originally founded by two employees, the Caffeinated Crusaders supergroup is now looking to expand their outreach and capacity by bringing in more new talent. No need to be a coffee drinker! You just need to want to help the city! Interested in joining the Crusaders? Contact Barista Brawler(@Bay) or Caffeinated Crusader(@Trinket) for additional details. Massive thank you to @MiteyMarvel of Impossible Industries (TM pending) for making a visual 'dream come true' with our base.

I've always been more of this mindset than anything. Steamroll has, to me, been a matter of performance as opposed to a style of play. I can understand how PUG members might get confused. My personal preference has always been to lay things out, as far as team expectations, in as plain a fashion as I can to avoid confusion over any given particular term. Then again, it should also be on everyone present to ask clarifying questions before it really starts to avoid creating any issues.

While I know that we are never responsible for other people's emotion and cannot expect to tell someone how they should feel, you certainly have accomplished your goals in my perspective. Wife and I started on Torchbearer when we found out about Homecoming and then, one night, that suddenly changed when the strangest tentacled individual came to lead a DD iTrial. Little bit of talking back and forth later and soon the wife and I were transferring over to Everlasting to be able to attend more event ran by Mojo and those he associated with. Through him we learned about the Everlasting TFs channel and there we got to participate in several of your runs; for those, thank you so much. You have, in the very least, inspired me to want to be able to run content, any content (even if just TF Commander TFs) at the same level of proficiency you show us in the iTrials. All that said, thank you for what you've brought to Everlasting and here's hoping RL doesn't ruin the fun and that the fun never runs out.

So, running into a very strange issue that's starting to really frustrate me. Had City installed just fine on my Mini. Upgraded computers, used the transfer assistant to move everything over, and now City doesn't work. From what my computer illiterate ass can figure, there's an issue with Wine somewhere along the way. Both computers are running OSX 10.15.4, with the exception that CoX doesn't run on the new computer. Tried everything, to the best of my knowledge, in the first two posts, but still no dice. Wine Stable shows as outdated and is unable to be opened and I can't seem to find how/where to update it to a version that works; not sure if operator error or program age. Attached in a screenshot of what happens when I try to launch the game. If anyone could give some/any input in the most illiterate friendly way possible, I'd greatly appreciate it. Island Rum loads up just fine and closes on its own, as selected in the options, and then the two additional windows appear and nothing happens.

Effective AOE combo that isnt fire or spines?
Bay replied to Damoklese's topic in General Discussion
I will second the Staff and Bio combo. Currently rolling a set out Bio/Staff Tank and absolutely loving it, especially with Offense and the Staff stance for additional damage; pseudo Scrapper. Both of the cones are very generous and forgiving. The damage aura is very nice, especially once the -Res from Bio hits the mobs, even more damage. Not to mention, for the fun factor, the Staff taunt is probably one of the absolute coolest I have seen so far. -
Okay, awesome folks, I have a great need of your knowledge. My 8 year old son talked me through making a Hero he dreamed about one night. I'd like to make this toon as invincible as possible. Due to computer reasons I don't have access to Mids/Pines. Could any of you either refer me to a damn good build or throw one up here? Budget is no issue, so go wild with survivability.
