  1. Without delving too far off topic... sorry OP!

Criminogenic elements, cause and effect, nature versus nurture, socioeconomic status, there is no one, two, three, four, etc., cause of crime. There are many causes for many people for many reasons for many crimes - if that sounds confusing, it's because it is. There is no one solution to all crime either. And as much as everyone in society who cares about criminal justice reform, law enforcement, and social welfare, there will never be a one cause, one solution either.

Laureate Badge is one of the options for completing the The Great Escape in Neutropolis.

I was duo boxing the event and had to run it three times because the same char was not getting the Laureate badge option at the end.

The char that was not getting the badge was sometimes the leader. The badge option just didn't appear, the other emote and reward options did.

I ran it solo on the three attempt and that char got the badge option.

Was it because of the character's alignment?

Edit: The HC Wiki says something related to contributing enough to the event...

Which promotes utterly false ideas about the nature of crime and motivation, but never mind.

Environmental criminology aims to confirm such a relation, though I have never been convinced that criminological theories can provide enough context on their own, I do enjoy the positivistic application in the field. Perhaps one day the criminal justice field will be elevated beyond its reliance on routine activities, rational choice, and other assumptive theories and become an actual science of study instead of an amalgamation that can't stand on its own.

As some may know, Paragon Studios briefly worked on City of Heroes 2 back in 2008 and 2009 before NCSoft nixed it.  A writer for the MassivelyOP web site mused today on what a City of Heroes 2 would look like if developed in 2021.  You can read it here.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the action combat idea.

Oh MassivelyOP, with their silly hypotheticals!

I have a Level 14 mission that I can never seem to finish. I have to defeat ten Vahzilot in either Perez Park or King's Row. In both locations I've spent a lot of time trying to find them? any clues?

Try here, in the Northern park area:

Who the hell listens to that idiot?  Guy is a moron.  Don't listen to him! lol 🤣

How is it working out? Never thought I would be useful in a build creation, more of a suggestion in how to go about it and point people in a direction they may customize it to their needs.

Yeah, drops are faster.  Its not as efficiently in drop percentage, but if you can blitz through a few more missions in the same time as a +4/8 it averages out more.  I have to AFK farm with my SM/Fire on +3/8 as I used stealth to cap out defence; before they buffed it into Invisibility.  Used to be able to aggro stuff near by as they patrolled on Briggs maps, now they need to run through the Burn patch to get aggroed.

Really well, like exactly what I needed on the secondary build. I've been farming a Freakshow PI portal map for the last influence badge and the build crushes just as well as the tailor made AE Fire Farm I use for my primary build.

And now over 80% of the bids have been filled, but there are still plenty more!

If only there were some way to create training-os for cheap.

If only there were some way...

(The "Take One" request has been removed at this point.  Feel free to clean me out.)

I've already run down the tutorial for TOs, but they aren't granted anymore. Do you mean to tell me there is a way??

Edit: Well I've run through Blue, Red, and Gold side vendors and they aren't selling anything but DOs/SOs. I'm imagining the only other way is through a contact...

  8. This thread invoked my curiosity so I checked my own rig and sure enough I was using all my cores to run the game.... BUT each core had a different level of utilization. Nearly all of my cores (6 cores, 12 threads) were below 20% utilization, while the second core was running around 60% all the way up to 90% usage over my play time.

I'm not sure if it was in that thread or another, but Jimmy has also stated that marketing does not create influence, it transfers it between players and has a deflationary effect of removing 10% influence per transaction.

So yes, farming is faster than street sweeping or running TFs and story arcs to create influence, but marketing is still a faster way for a player to accumulate (not create) influence.

I know exactly what you're talking about, but I can't seem to find it either! And agree on distinguishing the semantics, creating is different than accumulating.

  10. I'll just leave this here for others to discuss (emphasis added in gold)

We’ve made this change to reduce the influence income gap between players who farm and those that do not. The amount of additional influence gained by abusing level 49 missions simply wasn’t healthy for the overall economy of the game, and generally unfair towards those who play standard level 50 content instead of farming. Additionally, there were various exploits that could be abused in order to further increase influence gain through this option. Overall, we concluded it was best to remove the mechanic. Even with this change farming is still far more efficient than every other method of influence gain.

  11. To the original poster: You are setting your expectations too high for your current build. As others in the thread have mentioned, if your goal is to farm (either actively or inactively) you will need to make the suggested modifications to your build.
