  1. I run a ice/fire/fire blaster and chain AOE attacks in fire farms. The only time I ever even think about endurance is after casting burnout... otherwise the bar barely moves, even with full toggles. Might want to take a look at your slots or switch up incarnates. that said, the /fire aoe mana drain takes me to instant and is always up if I ever needed it.

  3. Actuallllly. I've been working on a water/time corruptor recently. My build for that is below, maybe it will give you some ideas. It is built for fire farming though, so you may need to tailor it to your own needs. I might have tweaked it in game, not sure. Farsight allows you to slot a bit more offensively than you might otherwise, so take advantage of that. Splitting up Superior Scourging Blast lets you take advantage of that low hanging recharge twice. Good luck on your water/time corruptor. Mine is a beast in a duo setting, and the build below allows her to farm 4/8's at a faster pace than my water/time blaster of equal gear. Edit: also ignore the levels that i took certain powers.   4. Personally I wouldn't leave home without it. But you can always try this, see how it works, and go from there. I'm not at a computer that can pull up pines to look for other ranged defense set options for targeted AOE, but, I had softcapped ranged defense on one of my water / time builds, and I had steam spray. So I'm sure there are probably areas that you can make up that amount of defense. I don't know if this includes Agility, or what your plans are for incarnates, but that would help some, too. Steamspray has high damage, a wide radius, long range, higher target cap ( i think 16? or is it 10 ? ), and can be slotted with both of Achiles Heel -20% res & the -20% res from Annihilation. IMO it's too good to pass up, but ymmv Also, at quick glance I can tell you that you don't need two slots in build up. If power boost is on a similar recharge then I would cut that too. Those two extra slots would give you more room to slot Blessing of the Zephyr, for instance.
  5. Am I crazy or does the in game took tips day psychic shockwave is high damage and 25 pbaoe range? Was looking at it last night.... edit: definitely crazy, it says 15 ft, but it also says High damage not moderate. Which is accurate?
  6. Going to highly recommend you go with Time. It’s pretty sick. Water has all the offense you really need, so you can skip time’s PBAOE. Temporal healing gives my blaster 118 health absorption every few seconds, about an extra 40ish or so if Chronos is active. Combined with all the knock ups, survivability is through the roof. For slotting your water stuff, I like to put debuff procs in steamspray ( -20 resist from annihilation, and -20 resist from Achilles ). Chance for + recharge in water burst, and sometimes i place it in hydroblast too if I have that Since time gives you a lot of recharge, you can slot a little more aggressively for water, since you don’t have to chase as many +recharge set bonuses. I go ham on the proc slotting for geyser, water burst, and water jet. I will usually go for set bonuses in whirlpool, hydroblast or water bolt. For time, a lot of the powers you won’t use very often. There’s that AOE disorient later on, and a couple single target cc’s. The big bonus for time is timelord, temporal healing, and Chronos. So you have a lot of access to slot mules. Depending on whatever content you’re going for will determine what you need to slot in them, though. For epics - fire or ice are what I’ve messed around with. Ice gives you two heals, an armor toggle, and a targeted aid sleep that can be slotted with a heal proc. Fire gives you bonfire, toggle armor, and melt armor / char. Ice is better beyond needing fire resistance. Since it gives you some other helpful defense.
  7. Hi all. I've put together the following water/time/fire build for fire farming. I get so sick of watching my brutes shoot spikes out or stomp on the ground... This character has been a lot of fun. I've managed to get slightly above the Ranged def cap and to 60% fire resist. The character can solo +4/8's, probably at or near the same speed as my brutes. Anyway, looking for advice on how to streamline things, as I don't really like frankenslotting ( anything other than proc abuse lol ), and i really want to push this character to its max. Would also be interested to hear any thoughts on how to maximize damage, though. Only thing I'm really committed to is keeping temporal healing and dehydrate, as they make this character super resilient.   8. Bonfire is straight up broken with that proc. I have a fire/fire/fire blaster that abuses it, but you’re still going to have trouble keeping the mobs from fleeing
  9. Just wanted to chime in in temporal healing... it’s kind of amazing. I’m not at my computer right now but if I remember correctly I get about 118 absorption per tick, and when accelerates I think another 30 something. With heal procs I heal up really quick as well. That’s a lot more than cauterizing aura ever did for me lol
  10. does the avalanche set work out for you there? I was afraid it would turn knockdown into knockback as it does in some other powers
  11. The character is lvl 50 but I select FB much earlier. I just slotted in a weird order in pines
  12. Does provoke generally work for people to reduce fear? I actually tried it the other night hoping it would fix the problem, but it seemed like it only worked until either a) the next tick of damage, or b) the next time the mob circled back towards my burn patches. Bonfire so far has been the only way to keep the mobs in one place, but even that is problematic as burn and hot feet seems to cause fear in the mobs. With these editions it would be possible to makeup the fire resist from another source rather than slotting hotfeet, which could leave room for more slow. Not sure how strong slow is, haven't really messed around with it, other than a quick respec out of snow storm in /frost, lol.

  14. Hi All. I wanted to give blaster a go for fire farming. Was bored out of my mind for spines. This is what I've came up with so far, inspired by an ice/fire/ice build that was shared in another post. The build has 45% fire def, 75% fire resist, perma haste, perma insta-snipe. The only issue I ran into so far is endurance management and damage. I still don't feel like the damage is on par with other toons. Even my SS/fire brute seems to massively out DPS this toon, but I could be wrong... I don't have a combat tracker or know of one to analyze it. I was running fire/fire/ice with hibernate, and that was fun, but I didn't have any means to keep the baddies in the burn patches, so I went with bonfire and slotted it with +recharge and knockdown. Took a gimp heal in the + Self Heal Proc for ranged. Any advice on how I can take this a step further? Also, several of the enhancement slots are boosted.   15. Thanks for the build. I used it as a Template to do fire/fire/ice one. At first I followed the build without buildup but that was sooo slow lol. Tomorrow I’ll post it on a different thread, I don’t want to keep hijacking OP’s post. If you see it when posted, would love some input.
  16. On the topic of fire/fire/fire - anyone mind to share their builds? I leveled one up today feeling inspired by this thread and... face planted, a lot. I can solo fire farms +4/8’s if I turn off bosses, slower than my brutes, but more fun. Less money though. I got to around 41% fire defense, 60% fire resist. With bosses on I die very quickly. Big difference between brute and blaster... everything runs from me. They literally run out of the burn patches, and forget about casting rain of fire. Any tips on power selections ?
  17. Right now I’m loving my ss/fire brute, more so than my spines/fire. Both are in similar equip, sets & purples, same build except primaries. I just spam foot stop, burn and fireball, toss in incarnate ion when it’s up and viola. It’s a lot of fun and a lot of Hutton mashing due to the high recharge

  19. Thanks for posting this. I've been working on a fire/kinetics controller to partner with my brute. Do you think that would work instead? Problem I tend to run into is my brute is always at the engagement cap, so when I bring in the controller, often times I"ll get savagely killed instantly by whatever isn't attacking the brute. lol. Not sure if a corruptor would be anymore sturdy? Any thoughts? also, any tips on how to make this work without the purple enhancements? Those can be hard and expensive to come by
  20. Did you mean specifically another /fire brute? or is there another combo that would work? My original idea was a character that could buff the hell out of the my spines/fire brute to kind of make up for the fact that ive got such shitty enhancements lol
  21. Hi friends. I’m newish to the game and trying to get a handle on things. I’ve made a spines / fire brute as my first toon I’ll try to get to 50, so that way I can focus on other toons. Since I’m pretty low on the budget scale, I’m having a difficult time doing missions with any + added to them in ae. I think the max I pulled off was 3/8. I have max Fire resist, but my defense is utter crap and my damage is snooze. I’m at lvl 32. I keep seeing “Fire defense” mentioned. Anyone know how I approach that? I’m also curious if there are any partners I could seek out that would synergies well with my character and allow us to farm bigger missions together ? What are your thoughts on best powerset to complement spines / Fire ?? I lack taunt so they have to be able to get in and get out without getting killed lol.
  22. The fact that this game has returned after so long, and has returned this strong, is proof of its longevity. I mean, look at P99 for Everquest, for instance. Those people are literally still playing a game designed to model an era almost 20 years ago. That's donations based too.
  23. I played around tonight with cold / radiation and mostly liked it... I used the lines thing to compare damage from power sets and, with the advice given here, confirmed that fire and ice are the best choices for me... just wish the ice animations were better, lol. I’ve been reading the forums here and was wondering how you all might rank the following secondaries to pair with ice... radiation / dark / time ?? What I didn’t like about time was the lack of a damage buff. I liked that radiation had a damage buff plus lots of debuffs, too, but I’m worried about survivability. Any thoughts ?
  24. Thanks for the replies. If one were not to use kinetics, what do you think would be the biggest bang combination ? I enjoyed psychic a lot and I don't love fire. Looking mostly for strong execute damage, so big hits. Which is why I've enjoyed psychic, but having trouble getting the most out of the psychic snipe attack without an accuracy booster.
