Doesn’t temporal selection also have a bonus recharge effect ? This duo would be hasted the house down.

Fire/Time/Dark, the ultimate DPS/Support/Tank hybrid
natewest1987 replied to Auroxis's topic in Corruptor
Water is kind of interesting with /time, as well. I’ve also tried dark/ and attempted a proc build variant. I don’t have a fire/time, and I’m really hesitant to level up another toon ( however fast that may be ), but sure wish I did ! -
On my phone but I’ll try to copy from another thread that I posted it in... see below. - build is mostly used in fire farms so YMMV. - I think it’s at 45% fire def/69%res plus scaling res ( can’t see from here ) - relies mostly on souldrain for accuracy checks. Probably my favorite build for a corruptor. Seems to really benefit well from Spiritual Incarnate as it makes the build really self reliant, being able to cc/heal, etc. biggest difference between how I slot it and what seems to be the norm is I use buildup procs in tornado and LS. I doubt the procs effect the mini pets, but it absolutely fires on the PC just about every cast of either spell. Any reason to put the overwhelming force dmg/knockdown in tornado vs lightning storm ? Been running it in LS, since I mostly pile procs in my LS and need the extra DMG.
-
6 Slotting O2 with Numina is fair. Going to give you recharge, resists, and the ranged defense he was after. It’s always fun looking at other people’s builds. I did end end up making a water/storm corruptor and it’s a monster. I slotted almost completely different, except for some of the obvious procs. I keep noticing that other builds for water/storm are missing out on the best procs of all. The fact that the build can slot three build up procs... while also hammering out +recharge. I’ve been putting the soul bound +BU in tornado and the decimation one in lightning storm. Guardians in tidal forces. Slotted this way, I get the build up proc every time I cast either of those spells, which is about every 20 seconds if together, or I can split the rotation to keep the buff up indefinitely while mixing in tidal. I went with corruptor, still. I can’t get behind defender in my head for whatever reason. I really just like all the pretty damage numbers and the ability to scourge.

Forgive my noobdom, but where does a dominator fit in the hierarchy of AT’s? ? Are they a control set ? DPS? DPS hybrid ? Obviously a hybrid, but hoping someone can explain to me why you roll a dominator? For instance I typically roll ranged dps because I like to blow shit up. What does a dominator let you do ?

This was fun on the corruptor board so... blasters I have enjoyed in farm content... Top tier Ice/fire/fire water/time/fire fire/time/fire Decent to good. fire/fire/fire Bad water/mental/fire unplayable... anything sonic... those sound effects, ugh

Cool! I'll post the build below. Few Notes: - It's still in progress, I've only been playing with it for a couple hours. Please critique if you know of anything better to do than what I did. - Designed based on lvl 50 respec, so I didn't care what order the powers are taken and slotted in - Rotation could be improved, as I'm probably procs by being too far over the damage cap when you factor in reds. There are three Build Up Procs + Tidal Forces + Souldrain in this build. Usually hit Freezing Rain - Soul Drain - Incarnate Ion - Lightning Storm - Whirlpool - Steam Spray - Water Jet - Waterburst - Tidal Forces - Geyser - Repeat... I usually reserve Tornado for if I've got a solid chunk of them and they are not moving anytime soon, as I hate how it breaks the spawn up from everyone running. - It does have a low base recharge, so it does take a sec to get up and running. If you can juggle your procs then you can have the +recharge proc almost indefinitely, and with haste / ageless / spiritual, you're probably at the cap. Enjoy. So... update... Top Tier Monster Farmer... Water / Storm / Dark. So far I am at 5 min clear on 4/8 with bosses farm map and that was only my third runthrough. If I got cheap and popped out lore pets and worked on rotation, etc. I think it could go lower
-
ahh, thanks for the info
-
How does to-hit debuffs and defense interact with eachother? Specifically, can I go above the defense cap by combining the two? Or will mobs always have a 5% chance to hit no matter what?
-
Here are some of my experiences of combos I've tried, 90% of the content I've played is on farming maps, so YMMV. Top Tier Fire/Storm/Dark - This is probably my favorite character that I have built. Constant AOE damage & multiple sources of knockdown. Both LS & Tornado can take a buildup proc, AND + recharge. With their long cool downs, both procs will fire off almost every time you cast either spell, which is about every 20 seconds. Since you also have aim, this gives you three sources of a build up proc. I slot Soul Drain with atleast the -res from Gladiator and sometimes Avalanches knockdown. It is endurance heavy in the beginning, but that goes away with the right slotting and incarnates. I haven't found much more satisfying in the game than obliterating spawn groups ( with the elite bosses ) in the fire outdoor map by Briggs. When scourge procs on inferno it is game over, when scourge procs on snipe - which is always insta on this build - it is also game over. Blaze is just a love tap compared to a scourged snipe from a fire corruptor. The only thing stopping this character is a lack of a heal, so I usually have to run with med pack, and if I fly too close to enemies that aren't bouncing up and down - then it's faceplant. Dark/Storm/Dark - I built this character while chasing after the Proc Monster hype, determined to make a corruptor a viable farmer. However, I'm learning that there is no combination of procs that can compete with fire's damage on a corruptor, as I was warned by others, lol. It just isn't going to happen. Still, this character - more so than the Corruptors I've built - can clear a fire map the most effortlessly. The sound and visual effects are really cool, and your screen will be filled with damage numbers... ah the dopamine rush. It has everything that fire doesn't. I'm still experimenting here. Second Tier Water/Time/Dark - I haven't played this character post-ppm, but previously it was able to do more damage than its counterpart water/time Blaster. This powerset combo allows you a ton of flexibility in slotting due to being able to use farsight for defense and chronoshift for its +50% recharge. Between Chronoshift & +recharge procs - that can be kept up almost indefinitely - this powerset has a ton of recharge and can cycle through its powers very easily. Before PPM changes, when it was easier to use debuff procs in aoe powers, the toon was a monster farmer and whirlpool did nuts damage. UGH Ice/Time/Dark - Snooze. I had hoped that all the recharge available would make blizzard + burnout a lot more effective, but it just doesn't work for my playstyle. Unfortunately, you will spend most of your time waiting for powers to recharge still, and spamming temporal healing to stay alive. So your DPS might be awesome for a few seconds, but then its gone.
-
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I ran with your early notes on electric/dark and mostly got my butt kicked in +2/8 fire maps, lol.
-
LOL the name ! Took me about 5 secs
-
Thanks for the replies, all. Working on my fire/storm corrupter. Is there a consensus as to whether or not to slot achiles heel in tornado ? I tried watching combat logs but it was a lot of spam lol. I couldnt tell if the proc was multiple targets or just one
-
thank you!
-
Thanks for the super detailed reply. I'm trying to sort out which, if any of my toons, I can warp into proc monsters. Mostly for the sole purpose of farming. That is really the only content I enter, fire farms. Am interested in exploring those higher lvl trials I hear about though. Any thoughts on any of the following? Trying to avoid leveling another char up, also not sure how well dark blast would translate to a farming toon, since it is primarily single target and cones. ( already lvl 50'd ) corrupters - fire/storm — ice/time — water/time — fire/time blasters - water/mental — water/time — fire/fire
-
Did I overlook any testing with Storm or Poison ? Tried to sift through the posts for it
-
Having trouble understanding the new changes to procs... so if I'm understanding right... ST = Give procs to TAOE = No Procs PBAOE = Give Procs to? Curious also what others have slotted in lightning storm. I don't notice the damage proc hitting that often, if at all. And is Tornado a good place for achiles heel ?
-
Thanks for the detailed reply & thanks to all who commented before. What else do you tend to slot lightning storm with ? and you mentioned recharge effecting proc in single target... is this not true also for AOE's or PBAOE's?
-
Seems like it would be pretty potent. Lots of opportunity to slot +recharge, you get the heal from water, good mix of AOE and single target. Curious if anyone has given it a go and what their thoughts were. I just leveled a fire/storm, and while the damage is berserk, I mostly leveled it to experiment with fire rain + ice storm. Was actually pretty lackluster, but whirlpool + ice storm might be a hell of a lot better.
-
No problem. Once you get leveled up it shouldn’t be a problem. I can’t really speak for the leveling process though. I PL all my toons in farms and pretty exclusively only run farm content
-
This is actually the saving grace of the build. If you spam your knock ups then it will serve as a nice source of mitigation. If you go for bonfire with knockdown then it’s even better. But as I said in another comment, I was super disappointed compared to my other farmers. Might be great for normal content though
-
Also, far more effective was my water/time blaster, and even more so water/time Corruptor... which is a beast. If you really want to do some nasty farming, ice/fire lives up to its hype. It’s disgusting.
-
I thought this same thing, but was deeply disappointed by the outcome. I leveled / geared one up this week to test it out. Couple thoughts of my experience testing only in fire farms... - drain psyche is not what it’s cracked out to be. It helps, but it’s not the godmode you would expect from that much Regen. - I found it much easier to cap ranged. You get access to two 5% sets for ranged defense, for instance, but that gimps your pbaoe’s. - capping fire def means you’ll either need several sources for aegis... I had five slots in tough, the sorcery buff, and fire armor... or you’ll have to rely on winter sets. I still have to six slot two of the sets, which I hate. - you can recover some of the recharge from spamming +recharge slotted water burst, but it’s still gimped on recharge. You could get atleast 30% more if you wanted to five slot things, but I had water burst, geyser, and shockwave with dmg +5’s, nucleus +3’s, and then procs in the other 4 - proc slotting in the aoes was the saddest disappointment. You’ll get some that are satisfying, but after your burst it’s gonna go down really fast. And you’ll barely be breaking 100 dmg after resists ( on shockwave and water burst ) I’d love to see more ideas if anyone has anything to add. I won’t be near a computer for the next few days, so I can’t upload that build, but I remember it pretty well.
