Republishing CoH would definitely earn us the hammer by NCSoft. There is no legal grey area there.

My advice would be get out of the normal contacts and start doing zone content. The Hollows, Faultline, Striga Isle, Croatoa, etc. These provide an alternate leveling path and some more in depth storylines. Plus, they tend to be a little more difficult as well. Tip missions start dropping around level 20 or so and these missions are all fun and provide some different challenges. Then there are things like the FBSA Agent missions. The older mission arcs from regular contacts are probably better run with Flashbacks later.

Make sure you have the appropriate chat channels added to your chat window. I'd have to check but they're named something like "NPC Cutscene" Edit: Checked. It's "NPC Dialogue" and "Cutscene Captions"

If by mega-nerfs you mean Enhancement Diversification then yes, that's still there. Today's characters are several orders of magnitude stronger than Live characters though. Mostly due to the true goodies (Enhancement Catalysts, Boosters and ATOs) not being in the cash shop anymore and all recipes and IOs being available by a variety of means.

Nobodies 50 will be renamed if the policy gets turned on. Level 50s are safe and for lower level characters there is a sliding scale grace period to log them in within to keep them from being eligible for the renaming policy. The higher level the character the longer the grace period. This policy is not active. No one need worry about it until it is announced to be in effect.

I ran two different +4x1 Carnie Radio (lvl 54) missions last night only using my 1 and 2 blasts. First was a warehouse, cleared it in 5 minutes. The next was a cave. I cleared it in 6 minutes. I even had zero issues with a purple Master Illusionist and a Purple Ring Mistress. I didn't use any other attacks.
