This is the worst of it to me.  It effectively gives those players who dislike copy/homage characters a tool with which to grief those who do.  Blatant copies are one thing, but there are those who will report any and every character even remotely similar to an existing IP.  If such a report happens to catch a GM on a bad day, or if the massive influx of these reports overwhelms the GMs and in frustration they turn to a "scorched earth" policy, then the griefers effectively win.

Please tell me there will be some sort of appeals process, in which disputed reports will be reviewed by a different GM than the one who originally decided the case?

Trust me, I'm not looking forward to maliciously-intended reports any more than you are, and indeed probably less since I have to read them. As with all disciplinary matters, my colleagues and I will discuss borderline cases as a group. If you strongly feel you have been wronged, you may appeal to Lead GMs and/or Admins.

I just don't want to lose the XP/INF/IOs I've invested in already.

Nobody will be banned unless they are quixotically persistent.

No disrespect meant at all, but when?  From my experience those kinds of characters are way, way more prevalent than cosplays.  I see at least a dozen of them daily.  Some I've literally seen over and over for months- they're always competing in costume contests in AP.

I personally never report anyone but I find it very hard to imagine that someone hasn't.

No, they haven't. If you don't report offensive names, we don't know about them; we're not psychic and there are 950k characters.

Agreed, the Trump name is extremely offensive and should not be allowed here

If you all turn your Codes of Conduct to rule #5, you will see that this is not permitted.

Is this a sign that a P2P model is coming to Homecoming?

    Absolutely not.

I appreciate the response, but "continue to work with them" is pretty vague.  I still working with my neighbor to get his dog to stop barking in the middle of the night, all night.

Last we heard from HC, once the negotiations were completed, ParagonWiki would fold into Homecoming and we would be able to update it with Homecoming specific content.

Last we heard from HC, Titan Network was part of these negotiations with NCSoft.

Should we assume neither of these are true at this point?  I want to be clear, saying that neither is true at this point doesn't mean to me the SKY IS FALLING, DOOMtm or anything else dramatic.  It doesn't mean to me that you are liars, or that NCSoft is destroying the world.  It just means that things changed, and you are being transparent with us.

What's NOT transparent, is getting this information second-hand at this point.  So TonyV said what he said, Sekoia said what Sekoia said.  Can we get some clarity and depth to the level that Titan network is getting it?

The plan has never been that Paragon Wiki would fold into Homecoming; I apologize if my statements elsewhere or those of my colleagues have confused this matter. Titan folding into Homecoming in any way would be a whole big can of data-protection worms that we don't want to open. As for the wiki itself being updated, the details are nebulous at this point but something like that is still in the cards.

Representatives of Titan are still party to the talks. The only change is that Tony is no longer a representative of Titan, and thus is no longer party to the talks.

    @Cipher, @Jimmy

Do you guys have any comment on this?

Is Titan going to stay independent going forward?  Is Titan, and just not Tony V still a part of these negotiations?

Seems like big news...and silence is always worrisome in those situations.

Our only comment is that everyone should be aware that Titan will remain independent under the leadership of Sekoia, that we will continue to work with them, and that we wish Tony the best in the future.

Apparently there was or is a "Guardian" AT in the files which is Assault/Defense. Though I think the team took that idea and made the Sentinel out of it, rather than it being something we can expect.

That's a fascinating rumor. Wonder where it started? :P

Anyway, no. Sentinel was made by Powerhouse at the request of a very persistent advocate of blast/armor pretty early on; Guardian (which is Assault/Composition, Composition being an unholy mix of support and armor powers, with a Killing Blow inherent) was made by a Closed Beta player later who didn't quite make it to the standards desired and is now being sold to Rebirth to stick it to Leo or something. Guardian in that form is incredibly unlikely to ever make it here.

But enough about that, please proceed.

They had an improved version on the private server that was able to pull your costume from the game to use as a default profile pic in addition to all the normal CIT stuff, and I really wish it made its way over here. Last I heard, however, there was no plan to bring it to Homecoming.

The issue there is that the Closed Beta CIT pulls live game data instead of being a manual upload as CIT was pre-shutdown. On a server with a max capacity of 200 players, that's not a huge issue. On a server with an average primetime peak of 4.5k, and keeping in mind that we're anticipating that to go up in the near future, that's not possible without a lot more resources.
