You must really hate comic books, because they've been using these exact tropes for decades.

I stopped reading comics in the late 80's when they changed from fun to grimdark.  So I missed Civil War and all of that in the comics.

I don't hate comic books.  I just hate the last few decades of comic books.

  2. I will be lazy and just enter character names here:

Tomb Fisted Kid - undead cowboy marshal from the old west

Pro Patria Mori - WWI pilot who gained powers from an experimental poison gas attack.  Flight, invulnerability, uses a wrench as a weapon (mace)

Major Tomorrow - U.S astronaut who got warped into the future.  Comes back with gravity and time control.  Wears a futuristic space suit with red white and blue theme.

Shackled Soul - Electric demon from the Rogue Isles.  Bound by the Legacy Chain to become a hero.

Aqueous Solution - Scientist who developed water control powers due to a science experiment.  I am the solution!

  3. While I don't think Tony Stark's character is the worst in the MCU, I find that Tony is one of the 3 worst things in the MCU.  The worst things in no particular order.

Heroes fighting heroes.  This happens in almost every MCU movie.  Ant Man vs Falcon, Thor vs Iron Man, Iron Man vs Hulk, Hulk vs Black Widow, Civil War, etc.  It is dumb and ridiculously overused.  I want heroes fighting villians.  Not heroes fighting heroes.

Villains are evil clones of the heroes.  Red Skull, yellow jacket, iron monger, evil black panther, vision vs vision.  When they do have actual supervillains, they are just an evil clone of the hero.  Same basic origin and powers.  So little creativity.  Marvel has tons of great villains that go unused.

Everything is about Tony.  He invents Ultron, he gives spiderman a  supersuit, he solves time travel.  It is not the MCU, it is basically the Tony Stark universe.  Way too much  Tony Stark.

    These would still have value?

I mean, I realize the few thousands of us that play the game would possibly be interested but outside of our small group?

You never know.  The things that have value are the things that were not collected.  Because they are rare.  I suspect these have little value, but you never know.

  5. I'm watching DS9 episode Blood Oath.  It features 3 klingon warriors who had appeared in other trek series, together for one final mission.  It occurred to me that Star Trek had created something like the MCU already.

The MCU is known for long plots, introducing characters in different movies, having pay offs from several movies ago, etc.

And Star Trek did that with its series.  Scotty reappearing in TNG.  Worf moving to DS9.  Barclay being in multiple series.  The klingons and other races appearing in multiple series.

Is there any other set oftv series that had a shared universe like that?

I know NBC has 3 series set in Chicago, but they are concurrent so while it is a shared universe that seems different than multiple series spanning decades, but I haven't seen them to know.

  6. Yeah, it is also interesting to see how the money and access changes.  At the start of the show they cover how they have to scrounge to find a car.  Later they get help from NASA and can do all sorts of crazy things.

  7. On xfinity, Mythbusters is now available on demand from seasons 1-14.  I think it ends with the last season with the build team.  You can fast forward to skip commercials, so it is nice to watch.

I am rewatching backwards.  Starting at the last episode they have and working my way back.  I am surprised at how little I remember and how much fun the episodes are.  It's my current feel good show.

  8. I enjoyed this arc.  So my comments are about making it better, not that I did not like it.

    What I liked

    • The plot was easy to follow.  It had some twists but it was clearly laid out so I knew what was going on.
    • I liked the variety of maps.
    • I liked the variety of enemies.  Even within a mission there was a variety of enemies.
    • I liked the arrested people in the 2nd mission.  It added a great feel of coming in after the authorities and rescuing the people.

    Room for improvement or confusion

    • Why trolls for the first mission?  Outcasts are new to the RI, and Trolls are not normally there.  It felt odd.  Not bad but confusing.
    • Zephyr did not have much personality.  His outfit is standard Outcast and he just spoke in normal sentences with generic words and grammar.  I did not find him interesting as an ally or an enemy.
    • On the 3rd mission it felt like it was just standard spawns.  No interesting details.
    • On the 3rd mission I was told I could use Zephyr's help.  I missed him and defeated the villain.  Then I had to go back and find Zephyr and rescue him.  It felt dumb that I had to rescue someone there to help me.  He should be optional.

Overall it was a nice arc.  A lot of variety, easy to follow story, some interesting detail.  For improvement I would just like some more detail in a few missions and more personality to Zephyr and Bedrock.

  9. Mission 1

Amaya's datapad clue - should it be personnel files instead of personal files?

Yukiko Fox did not fight to help me.  I'm not sure if she was supposed to.  She just followed.  Then she stopped following and I don't know what happened to her.

I like the Crey costumes.  Except the boss in lava armor looked out of place.  I really liked the detail of them calling out that I was a tanker.  It felt Crey-like and science like to label me.

    Mission 2

briefing - should be "the theft" not "the thief"

I like the briefing.  Simple mission  Then the twist developing during the briefing.

Great dark elves - now I want a fantasy storyline with these dark elves.  I mean the crey costumes are fine.  But the dark elves look very cool.

The powered armor with crystals doesn't feel Crey to me.  I like the elemental robots though.

I've gone up 2 floors and cannot turn off the cameras.  Not sure if I missed something.  And I just found the desk to do it right by the powered armor guy.  I seem to have found it in the last room.  Which does not help sneaking in.

Once again I get a follower who does nothing but follow.  Not sure why I have it.

    Mission3

briefing - it should be "every kitsune vixen" not "every kitsune vixens"

briefing - it should be "If I were you I'd just leave him" instead of "If I were you just leave him"

I have to escort them.  That is so painful.  So much better to just rescue them.

Stumbled on the demon lord.  He wasn't so tough.  But I had forgotten about him.

Great detail in this mission.  I love the police at the beginning arresting the crey guards.

missed a kitsune, now I have to go back and search.  Back at the entrance.  I'd cleared the enemies but not noticed her behind a pillar.

Overall I really liked the arc.  Simple plot but with an interesting story.  The contact was great.  The dark elves came out of nowhere but were cool so I enjoyed them.  Lots of nice details.

This is what I like.  A nice simple plot to follow with missions on cool maps with lots of detail.
