I do get occasional random team invites. I don't play above level 35, I just find it too easy and boring. So when I find myself on a higher level team I just say "sorry too high for me" and drop.
If you haven't started a TF, no one cares if you leave a team.
But his comment was uncalled for

I've never seen Heat. I don't actually like Pacino or DeNiro. Except I liked De Niro in Mad Dog and Glory.

Doms are great solo characters. Are they broken at level 50 or with IO sets compared to other ATs, probably - everything is broken at level 50 or with IO sets.
Permadom should go away so that doms are balanced without it. Domination should be very short, like a build up. It should give you great control for 10 seconds so you can use a couple of control powers with it. The mezz protection could last 60 seconds.

Do Defenders have melee attacks in their secondaries? I can't think of any.
so maybe just dominators do. Weird

They're not tough enough to survive in melee, is my guess.
But then why give them melee powers in their attack sets? I get blasters having a mix, they just have so many attacks they need some variety. But defenders and doms have melee attacks, just no sets with all melee attacks.

Does that change my basic stance as I am just standing around? Or is it related to a power?

Claws, katana, etc. Is there a reason not to give those to defenders and dominators? Would they be too strong, too weak, or it just isn't done?

I'm curious what propels a film to top 20 status for you.
These are not necessarily my top 20 favorite films. My favorite film is The Station Agent. And I just chose that so I would have an answer when people ask what my favorite movie is. My favorite book I say is Taran Wanderer. Although in reality I probably prefer the Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies and maybe Mistborn.
These are chosen for the fun action/drama category. If you like 3 of these films you will probably like almost all of them.

I like the Highlander tv show more than the movie. And it doesn't need to be redone.
For Piers Anthony, I love On a Pale Horse but the rest of the series is not nearly as good. It isn't bad, it just is not as great.
The author I recently found and love is Simon R. Green. He writes over the top modern fantasy stories. Tales from the Nightside, Secret Histories, Hawk and Fisher, and Ishmael Jones are my favorites. Nightside is noir detective, Secret Histories is secret agent, Hawk and Fisher are investigators in a fantasy world.
I read about 100 books a year. My reading varies between pulp action, Eisenhorn and Ravenor being two of my favorite 40k series, and cozy mysteries. I love a series about two women running a hat shop in London and solving mysteries.

Definitely the originals.
I love Hudson Hawk. And it is a much more fun movie than Die Hard which is why I included it on the list. Most of these movies have a bit more of a humorous take to them.

I don't think I've ever seen Near Dark. I don't know that I've ever heard of it. I'll have to check it out.

I thought this was about playing powerful low level characters, not what levels easily.
I create charcters at levels 13, 19, 23, 29, and 34 and then turn off XP so the character just stays at that level.
At level 13 tankers are the best soloers. In teams I find dominators and defenders work best. Tankers are not tough enough to tank well for a team of 8. Plant, dark, electric, and ice dominators can have an aoe control up every fight that is better than having having a low level tanker. Defender ally "bubblers" such as ff, thermal, and ice make low level teams go smoothly.
Dark/ defenders basically function like dominators with their fear cone but have the added bonus of healing. Dark/sonic even at level 13 make great all around characters with a focus on single target damage, dark/fire are much better at aoe damage but are lacking in single target damage.

Jolting Chain. Watching the foes flop around one by one is great fun.

I have 2 design standards for character. I base it on an NPC group and look like that.
Or I take two concepts and combine them. Skeleton cowboy (Tomb Fisted Kid), scuba diver scientist (Aqueuous Solution), etc.
The combined character concepts are often dual origin concepts..

BBC show? This isn't the one with Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi as Richelieu is it?
It is that one

I have Trollkin Recruiter, Skull Girlfriend, Skull Bride, and a few other villain recruiters.

It's a BBC show with gorgeous detail. It is not cheesy Xena type costumes and sets, it looks like you are in Paris in the past.
And it gets a great balance of the novels Richelieu as villain with reality of Richelieu as the protector of France. And Richelieu is not Worfed. When the musketeers work against him they sometimes stop his plans, but often just survive. They don't always win.
My only complaint is that I'd like more sword fights. They have them every episode, but it is as much a drama as an action show.

I am a big fan of Babylon 5. I haven't rewatched it in about 10 years so it may be time.

Ice/Energy blasters were a thing for a while. Energy/ice is ... a bit different.
ice/energy might be a space theme. Thrusters and the cold of space.

Post your own combinations for people to come up with themes for or theme these:
An electric/martial assault dominator. Martial assault is primarily throwing shuriken with some kicks.
A radiation/katana tanker.

I've heard it gets good, so I have them on while doing other things, waiting to see when they get good and following the general plot.
The movie description: An interstellar teleportation device, found in Egypt, leads to a planet with humans resembling ancient Egyptians who worship the god Ra.
The episode descriptions:
- While exploring a world populated by Mongol descendants, Capt. Carter is abducted as a wife of a local warlord and helps a boy and girl in love get together.
- The Stargate base is put in deadly peril when it is contaminated with a dangerous infection which causes its victims to become mindlessly animalistic brutes.
- The SG-1 team is sent after the SG-9 team that has failed to return. They find that SG-9's captain, having been treated like a god by planetary inhabitants, is drunk with power and is tyrannizing them.
- When Jack is injured unintentionally by a crystal alien, the alien duplicates Jack's form and out of fear of retribution tries to heal Jack. He returns to Earth in place of Jack to help Jack get over the death of his son.
Nothing about alien gods. Basically the worst plots from Star Trek redone.
I can only assume at some point this will actually be about alien gods.
WandaVision

I am enjoying WandaVision. It is the second Marvel tv series that I've liked.
Daredevil was good. Iron Fist had good parts, not including Iron Fist himself. The others I did not like.
Marvel tv shows have felt so slow and ponderous and grimdark for the sake of being grimdark. AoS started off dumb but fun but then just became dumb and dark.
WandaVision feels like they are actually trying to be entertaining.
