Not the game client, the account center here in this forum. If you can reply to this message, you can reset your game password. Visit here, set a password, and use THAT one to log into the game.

Blue wheel circling, you mean the mouse cursor? That's a Windows hiccup for the most part if that's the case. For machinima use, if letterboxing or frame crop is an option, burying the mouse on a screen corner at the start of the demo might help. If not, in the Mouse Control Panel, you can change the blue waiting circle animation to a regular pointer and move to the bottom right corner. That would reduce the mouse to a single black pixel when 100% at the corner.

been paying for a while and all of the sudden tequila wont run
GM Tock replied to Good_old_Rabbit's topic in Help & Support
To start: -- Windows Updates in progress: did you reboot the system recently? -- Is Tequila finished updating? If the bar isn't fully green, allow it to finish first. If it's not those two issues, we'll need more info about your computer to help further. -
That's usually what we tell folks to do. Run Tequila when "Unnamed" server appears after login, and wait for it to finish patching first before launching.

The last CD release of City of Heroes was made for Going Rogue, Issue 18. The files used in Tequila are Issue 24. Since that release, the Incarnate system, First Ward, Night Ward, and the Freedom client changes were all made since that time. (Kallisti Wharf was partially finished in the Issue 24 files, but was finished by the community as a zone.) The way Tequila patches makes no difference between a pigg that is 70-90% similar or 10%, it'll download the entire file again. Very few files will be similar if at all. I wouldn't recommend using the CD to start or install the game. I doubt anything bad will occur, but too much has happened since that will make the files of any use.

Of course! We'll call it "Encouragement Diversification..." (Wait a sec, this happened before...)
-
That is the most recent version. 08 22 2019 1 <-- Version in forum guides. 06 26 2020 1 <-- Version out now. The first eight digits are a release date.

Score and Homecoming folders are client-specific. They're used to hold the changes specific to our service. The Score folder isn't used by us anymore, so it should be safe to delete. The Homecoming folder holds .piggs specific to our client, so that should be left alone. It's not a big deal or time to reinstall if it was deleted by accident. Tequila will re-download the contents and take a little longer to start is all.

There are privacy concerns with that approach, which is why that's fine for Game Typos but not user issues.

That's what I get for working on a project last night. Completely missed this one. Issues with moderation are solely between the GM and the player. Please don't start a thread concerning your own situation.

No idea. I'll forward the suggestion along, though. 🙂

I miss the one I made at my prior job. We had virtually no perks at that job except for one... if you made it for at least one year and there wasn't a Core i5 or i7 in surplus you could take and fashion into your workstation system, you got a $1500 budget to build a system. And build I did. It was big and pretty. And it was around the time Episode VIII was about to come out so in honor of renaming our servers at the NOC after Star Wars characters, I named him Finn. Put in a Core i7-7700K, 16GB DDR 4 RAM, EVGA 1000W PSU fully-modular, EVGA NVidia GTX 1060 card... the Samsung M.2 nVME I wanted sold out, so I had to settle on a Plextor instead. And two honkin' 2K HP Studio Displays meant for video editing (which I didn't pay for, those were in the Surplus, thankfully). It was a beast. Unfortunately, when I left, Management prohibited sales of equipment to any employees upon exit, so he had to stay behind. 😞 The guy who replaced me got it instead. Easy come, easy go.

Yup, what I figured. There's this place called Storium that allows for deletion in only one scenario: if a user doesn't have anyone join their story and begin playing the game, they can delete their content with no problem. Once someone joins, too late. (Anyone who contributes has the right to keep their writings in-tact.) IPS isn't that smart, unfortunately. Permissions are more 'all or nothing' when it comes to command availability. But that same reasoning as Storium applies here too: as Clubs are a collaborative area we don't allow users of any rank to delete clubs without Admin intervention. File a support ticket to explain what happened, and we'll go from there.

It's not you. The club I started doesn't have that option either. Hmm... Let me ask around a bit, I'll let you know.

I withdraw my suggestion, then. Gamma would be best handled by your display adapter driver then, but unless it's an app-specific setting, it would affect all windows.
-
Right with you, there. My assumption was his laptop was the sole display.

That’s where I was headed. Commercial providers are making “VPN” become a bit of a buzzword these days. No worries.
-
Sentinel was the tracker tool made for Titan Network sites. Sentinel+ was the character export tool from live. Unfortunately, exports from Sentinel+ cannot be imported into Homecoming. Titan Network made a tool called Senticon to extract costumes out of the Sentinel+ XML files. It's fully online, no download needed. https://cit.cohtitan.com/senticon/

Take a look at Gamma in the Graphics and Audio tab in the Options window. See if tweaking that helps you.

I don't advise spending money on a short-term fix, personally. Not condoning or condemning VPN use, but people who aren't familiar working with it, or folks who rely on SaaS apps with "VPN-like" features should know that it's not something you can throw at the problem and never think about again either. If you don't have a choice, that's one thing, but VPN is a modern version of the word "proxy" and has the same considerations, notably, a reduction of bandwidth and reliance on a third party for your access.

Stereotypes and Misusing Cultural/Religious Figures
GM Tock replied to AsheOdinsonAlt's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
We welcome suggestions for game content from anyone, however, we ask that users refrain from starting fights on the boards involving divisive topics such as political and religious arguments as Suggestions. The suggestion is heard. But this conversation is over. -
There are three bottlenecks when it comes to network speed/performance. Both Homecoming and You have control over exactly ONE. Your home ISP - Your control. Backbone provider between your ISP and OVH OVH to our servers - Up to us. We strive to use the full extent of our connection at the data center. And if there is connection difficulties within our realm to fix, we will. However, if other players aren't joining you in reporting lag on multiple servers, there's not much we can do about the other two possibilities. The path from your house to here, as well as your house itself are out of our control. That might seem like a cop-out, but it is true of any online game, volunteer-ran or not. Additional advice concerning Home Networking I'm sorry I'm left to guess what your situation is, but I could use more information about your network setup for better advice. I'll try anyways. The network ports on the client have not changed since Live. Making sure these aren't being blocked by Windows Firewall (make sure either /hc-bin32/cityofheroes.exe or /hc-bin64/cityofheroes.exe is not blocked) or on your router should be sufficient, you shouldn't need to explicitly open ports on your router to get to the server except as a last resort. Game Ports The game client is somewhat Firewall and NAT friendly. However any issues can be resolved by ensuring the following ports are open: TCP 2104 TCP 2106 TCP 443 UDP 7000-7200 Instructions on how to set this on your router are available from either your ISP or the manufacturer. (There's 1,000's of models, so a step-by-step isn't possible.) Also, if you're using a laptop, be aware there are different settings for Public Networks as well as Private ones, and you need to be aware what your connection is using. Desktops using Ethernet should most often be set to a Private network since they usually don't leave your house. But if the firewall has the game allowed on a Private network and your Wi-Fi connection is set to Public, it could be causing difficulty reaching us. Finally, if you're using Wi-Fi, see if you can plug your system in with Ethernet and the lag goes away. This might be a sign your Wi-Fi network needs some further adjustment (Router Placement, switching Radio Channels to one less crowded, etc.)

I don't have much to gloat about for my own system... and eventually, I'll be in the market to put a replacement to my current one together. But if you have a system you're proud of or recently put together, share! Tell us how the build went and what's unique to your system! I built my system back in 2012 when City of Heroes was still live. I did go cheap on the motherboard and used a spare case in our house, but it's been serving me well to this day. Even with heat damage from running in the High Desert of California and no Air Conditioning, it's still chugging along. I'll update this with better specs later but off the top of my head, this is what I use now. Intel Core i5-2300 3.2 Ghz... added a Corsair sealed-line Water Cooler in place of air cooling after 3 years of use. 16GB RAM HyperX DDR3 240GB SSD (SATA) Samsung, 4TB Platter HDD (Western Digital Blue) ASUS P91 Motherboard EVGA NVidia GeForce GTX 1050 Titanium FTW LG Ultrawide 32" Display Not the top of the line, clearly. But shopping for systems is clearly a hobby of mine, so don't be shy!
