  1. Things are slowing back down now so I hope to be posting icons more frequently. I'm getting close to finishing up Primary/Secondary sets. After that, it'll be Power Pools and Epic Power Pools. For now though, this vote's winner was... ASSAULT SETS!! Dark Assault Earth Assaut Electricity Assault Energy Assault Fiery Assault Martial Assault Thorny Assault If at any point anyone should notice anything that's incorrect or missing, please let me know and I'll make sure it's taken care of.
  2. I finally got a break at work and had enough time to do the latest winner of the poll... BLAST SETS!! Archery Assault Rifle Beam Rifle Dark Blast Dual Pistols Electric Blast Energy Blast Ice Blast Psychic Blast Sonic Attack Water Blast Tagging @Giovanni Valia since this covers the Beam Rifle request. 🙂
  3. In the highly nuanced situation of what OP was talking about, is that really that time consuming to say "oh, hit up Null the Gull and you won't be affected by it"?
  4. To each their own, but expecting people to have as much free time to learn everything possible about a game that has WAY too much to be able to know everything about sounds a bit unrealistic. I only have so much time I can give to playing this game or learning anything about it. Turning off a Group Fly option through Null the Gull is such a nuanced situation, that it seems pretty unfair to put it solely on others that they "should have known". I wouldn't call you a bad guy, though. But from how you're presenting yourself, I don't see you as being a "great teammate" either. I think "great" would at least require a willingness to be helpful. And removing oneself from a team (while wise and something I've done myself), by default does not make one a "great teammate" because you've removed yourself from even being a teammate at all.
  5. You're singing an opera to the choir. Pretty sure I clearly stated I'm all for letting people play how they play. What I was talking about isn't so much about helping people with data. It's about creating teamwork. Informing people of something before teaming is a good way to create teamwork. Especially if its something they may have to avoid through means they aren't aware of (such as Null the Gull). A good team experience is on everybody. So long as you do your part about informing, then you've done all you need to as far as I'm concerned.
  6. Yeeeah, none of that is what I was asking about. The closest you came to it was with "communication is key". And as long as you're communicating to people they may want to visit Null the Gull before getting started on something that takes a lot of time, then I'd say you've done your part. Not terribly dictatorish in my opinion. I'm guessing you... agree??
  7. Where are you sourcing this claim from? As far as I know, there's no telling how many do or don't use IOs. You don't need inf to get KB protection. Hell, it doesn't sell that high anyway. Just run both Posi TFs and use the merits for it.
  8. Not that I know diddly, but I'm guessing that would require a lot of work. Best guess: writing something up that reads a third party's code and translates that into a Respec tool. It could go through and place the powers in order and allot the slots as well. Probably couldn't place enhancements even if you already had them available. But even just doing powers and slots would save a lot of time. I'm sure I'll be corrected on that shortly.
  9. Just to clarify, those of us that just suggest making people aware of things before starting things like TFs and Trials, you don't consider those wanna-be CEOs, do you?
  10. You keep referencing Null the Gull as though it's something everyone knows about. I've played this game since '05 and this is the first time I've even heard that's an option. I support playing how you like, but I agree, it's probably something you could give fair warning for to teammates before trials and TFs. Assuming everyone knows everything about the game that you know just makes you part of the problem.
  11. I believe my words were "how it could be improved OR restored to how it was before." I'm not trying to keep the conversation restricted. Just on topic. This thread is intended to discuss a power set and bringing it up in performance. Not a whole AT. Discussing other ways of improving EM is certainly helpful, but getting bogged down in other issues isn't.
  12. Let's maybe keep this thread about Energy Melee and how it could be improved or restored to how it was before. There are already other threads for Rage.
  13. From reading the thread, I would avoid your definition (and it is very much an opinion of a definition) of the word "gimme." It carries the tone of entitlement. It makes it sound as if people are asking for the lazy hand outs instead of requesting things in the spirit of improving the game or enriching it. To take a such a broad range of possible intentions and to generalize them under one roof for the sake of propping up a strange devil's advocate doesn't seem to serve much towards having discussions in good faith. As for the actual suggestion, yeah, that's an unpopular one. Just because there aren't busy bodies all over the streets doesn't mean there aren't people out and about playing the game. Currently, it's a suggestion based on how one *feels* about something without much objective reasoning.
  14. I know this tactic. But don't people usually lead with the one they know they won't get and THEN ask for the one that's possible?
  15. I would agree that Stone Armor's strengths have faded due to stagnation when compared to how everything else has been able to change or improve over the years. Its penalties definitely seem a bit excessive now. A Stone Armor player can't use IOs to offset the -dmg and -speed as effectively as other sets can offset their holes. I like where @Leogunner head is at in regards to making Granite something that you use more situationally. I'm not sure if his suggestion is the way to do it (not until I saw some numbers), but it's a good start for discussion. Something that it doesn't address is how you have to retoggle most of your armors when you come out of Granite. If we're making Granite something you use more intermittently, then that'll have to change. I think one option is to make it so that your other armors (except Minerals) don't detoggle while Granite is up. Granite's numbers would need to be tweaked so that the other armors+Granite end up giving the same totals as original Granite. This would certainly stay within the cottage rule more so than doing a complete overhaul to SA. And you still have to choose between Granite and having Psi protection.
  16. I think this is on the high end of IO build performance. So, not something I'd consider a valid argument for EA being overpowered or too good.
  17. I was quoting you to answer @tafilr's question.
  18. No, you had them right. For a Brute. But as a Tanker, they would be higher. That's why the argument is being made that it's too good. On a Tanker.
  19. @tafilr On a Tanker, these numbers would be higher. So if you got a fully saturated hit (10 foes) your total Defense boost would be 9.36% when 3 slotted for defense.
  20. My in-game experience doesn't reflect that perception. It's certainly not underperforming, but I don't know if it would qualify as OP. In the early-mid levels I think it gets an advantage in content that does S/L/E damage (which is a fair amount of content, I'll admit), but by late game, there's a lot of content that can eat its lunch. Carnies, Arachnos, and CoT can be tough to face on SOs. I see it with it's fair share of weaknesses just like plenty of other popular sets. Can you expand some more?
  21. So if it would be too good on Tankers as is, why is it not too good on Brutes? Genuinely asking here. Wouldn't all sets be comparatively underpowered to /EA if they're scaling by the same Brute multipliers?
  22. So... remove the +Defense from Energy Drain? I could live with that. Would it's defense numbers on SOs be too high then? There's still a pretty big Psi hole that will hurt plenty in the 40–50 levels.
  23. Indeed, those would be some fun numbers to play with. @Captain Powerhouse Pretty please????
  24. What would the numbers be for EA/ with just SOs?
