  1. Heh, see what I did there? Dad joke aside, the title says it all. I'm looking for a decent Stone/Fire build. Just a couple caveats as it is a bit of a concept (think "Volcano"). No flying as I prefer SJ for this guy. Granite or no Granite is fine. Thanks all!

  5. Thanks everyone. I'm returning to the game after a long hiatus. But I was horrible at builds even back when I played regularly. That being said, I still prefer to learn it as well as I can instead of just "hey, someone make this for me!" so I very much appreciate any and all knowledge passed on. I hear you both about the T1/2. I've noticed that, with the rare exception, that's the general rule of thumb for all the AT/Powersets so I'll make sure to keep that in mind for future builds. Special thanks to you oldskool for taking the time to "ramble". You've given me much to work with and I really appreciate it. And you've given me wiggle room to play with other powers/slots...just need to decide what to do with them, lol See you out there!
  6. So what you're saying is...I jacked it up, lol. Seriously though, I really appreciate you taking the time to lay all that out. Learning as we go. I didn't mention it before but I believe I read that it's a good idea to be Def soft cap'd at 45% for Melee/Range/AOE so I've been trying to keep that in mind as well. That being said, I took your nuggets of wisdom and applied them to the best of my understanding. Kicked Piercing Rounds to the curb and picked up Dual Wield. Though I couldn't slot it exactly the same, I tried to get it as close as possible. Put the slots into Enduring and slotted it with Perf. Shifter. Couldn't squeeze out any more slots for Stamina. Are there slots elsewhere I could take from to move over if necessary? No idea what my last two power picks should be? I grabbed Infiltration from the Concealment pool and threw a couple enh's that gave me a little more endurance but I'm really at a loss as to what I could pick up.   7. Greetings Everyone! This is my first attempt at a build so please be gentle.... or tear it up. Either way, I learn something! Credit to Thrax for his post that had the base build. I basically took the build and moved/replaced some stuff. Travel Powers and such. I'm still learning the lingo, terminology, and overall mechanics of how builds work but I'll give a basic rundown of my goals here. Basic build that I can solo/group most content. His forum post indicated a problem with endurance, so I moved some slotting around and tried to improve it a little through Enduring and my Med slots. If this looks jacked up, it's my fault.   8. Greetings all. Just returning to the game after a bit of a hiatus. Have a concept for a Paladin type character(I know, old hat, but I'm a sucker for the archetype). The Paladin Infinitum build in the OP looks great, however I see many other posts saying that SD/BS isn't that great? Not sure if I'll ever do super high end 4 star (whatever that means, lol) content with the toon but hopefully would like the option should I ever wish to tackle it. I guess that's a long, drawn out way of asking if that build is still viable? Why no love for SD/BS?
  9. Greetings all! Back from a long hiatus and digging into my toons. One of my favorites was a Bots/Time MM. I've looked around the threads. Granted my search skills are less than optimal, lol. Would love it if someone had an updated build? My playstyle was to send in the bots and just back them up with buffs/debuffs/support, etc. Thanks in advance and it's great to be back!

  12. Yeah, I ended up going SD/SS for my guy. I read too many posts about how bad EngMelee is right now. I will revisit it if/when the homecoming devs decide to tweak the powerset. I just use auras and whatnot to get the desired "concept" effects on the toon. He's 40 now and I'm loving him. Tested out the build I'm using on the beta server. Not a bad combo overall. Will likely be pretty awesome when I get him decked out in purps and full incarnate powers etc. Thanks for everyone's input!

  14. Uhg, you are right. It is not necessary. Just an IO I threw in there. Probably best(and what I would actually do) to put a recharge redux. What about the rest of the build?!
  15. Here is an alternative with SS for my secondary. Again, credit where credit is due. I grabbed most of this build from another thread and tweaked it a little. Thanks to the original build creator FUBARczar. The tanky numbers favor Energy Melee by a small margin with an extra AoE in Spring Attack. However, in the SS build, I'm missing the extra AoE, but was able to place the self heal back in from the original build I drew from, which would be nice to have. Hmm, choices! Need input!   17. I don't see this in many builds? Is it that bad? I have a character concept that would be awesome as an Illusion/Sonic troller. I understand one could ALMOST make anything work in the game but would this pairing be completely gimp? What kinds of challenges would I be facing with this powerset pairing?

  20. I have been looking for a SD/SS tank build. Thanks for this thread LC! Your setup looks excellent FUBAR, but Soul Mastery doesn't really fit the hero concept I'm looking to make. If I had to, I could find a way to "mindtweak" a justification but is there anything else you could potentially use in those slots? A bit off topic, but a question about the Soul Mastery pool. That's a villain epic pool isn't it? Would that mean you'd have to switch alignment, do a villain quest chain to unlock the villain pools, then switch back? Or is there a way to unlock them w/out the hassle? Either way, thx again all.
  21. I came up with a neat little BR/Time concept and have enjoyed the pairing so far. They seem to be working out pretty well, both functionally AND aesthetically. But he's not really high level and will probably just slot him with Workbench IO's for now. I don't suppose anyone has a ready made build put together that they could share?

  23. As I am still new to using Pines and creating builds, I would love some feedback on my latest attempt. I cannibalized from a Bio/Rad build here on the forums and tweaked it just a bit for Radiation Armor. I really like the idea of a Radiation Tanker that debuffs and just melts baddies when solo or teaming. It looks like I went over the resist caps but I'm not sure how/where to tweak it? Maybe a good thing for when I get debuffed?   25. Ok, yeah. I think I see what you mean by over/under slotting. Wish I was better at doing these builds. And thank you hejtmane for taking the time to put something together. It is much appreciated. Couple of questions/comments. Removing Fly; using SJ. Takes a bit of the "thematic" element away from the character but I can live with that for some Hasten goodness. Would you just slot a Rech. Red. in Hasten? The AOE's, Repulsing Torrent and Burst. All slotting in those two powers being equal, in practice RT hits more mobs, more often but I completely agree about the KB. That's why I slotted the KB>KD enh's. Burst just seems to whiff a lot. I will be in the middle of a pack of 6-8 baddies and it may hit 2. Would that change with proper slotting? Energy Cloak. I think they need to redefine they're idea of "only seen at very close range" because the few times I've tried to use it have been woefully unsuccessful. Mobs detect me at almost the exact same range as when I don't have it on at all. Overload. Yeah, almost took it out of my build anyway. Was mostly using it as a "oh crap" button while getting myself out of a battlespace but that didn't happen often. Again, thanks for the input.
