  1. Nope. I just realized my mistake: Anyone else have issues coming up with names for their characters that capture their character themes?
  2. Yeah, like the Unofficial PvP Shard or the Unofficial RP Shard. RP-ers and PvP-ers are just like everyone else! They should be welcome everywhere! As has been said, it's not about segregating ourselves away from society, it's about going somewhere where we can be ourselves with our own, and enjoy playing with like-minded individuals. I also didn't expect this thread to be so inflammatory when I created it: I honestly just wondered if Torchbearer had been claimed as a LGBTQ space.
  3. Bolding by me. All players should feel comfortable playing on all servers. That's not an argument, that's a basic principle of human decency. It's nice to have a safe space that is exclusively queer. Gay bars may be closing, but we still like to have a place to go where it's just us.
  4. I'm watching Young Justice: Outsiders and there was just an episode where the new heroes choose names. One meta-human wanted Hot Lava as a name (But went with (spoilers!) Geoforce). I completely understand that people will use silly names for toons; and silly - like beauty - is in the high of the beholder. For me, name is as important as powerset. It's all part of the theme.
  5. Saw in the Pride channel some chatter - Torchbearer is the unofficial Pride shard? Confirm?
  6. Deleting my first character, a Rad/Rad Corr because I didn't know about respecs. Loved that guy so much.
  7. Naming is the biggest hurdle (besides leveling) for me. If a character doesn't have a good name, I just don't want to play them. People that play Stoney McStone Hands or whatever just annoy me. It's a game where you play a superhero or villain: Don't you want to immerse yourself in a great concept with a good name? This is why I prefer RP servers in MMOs. For example, my Kin/Nin Scrapper is called Steelshadow. I rolled him a few times with different names and just wasn't into them. I also created a Sonic/Dark Corr named Shadowsonic I play (Shadow theme going on here). I have a DP/Dark Blaster named Grim Tracer. Currently trying to think up a name for a G-Man Man in Black type character who is a Beam/Kin Corr but I can't think up a name that isn't on the head (like G-Man or Agent G-Man). Anyone else have issues with names?
  8. I'd love to, but I don't have any LGBTQ characters, yet! I guess my characters would asexual?
  9. D'oh. And I just noticed "believe" It wouldn't be a CoX bio without inexplicable errors!
  10. City of Villains was my first MMO. I adored Villain-side. My ex introduced me to WoW in 2008. I love that game. I've read all the lore and played every class (except Rogues) and every race. I've read all the novels and comics. I adore Azeroth. I even have Frostmourne on my forearm. I'm feeling really burnt out with WoW, though. I can't play it anymore. My ex and I tried Rift and EVE. I've played a few others. Before CoX came back I was into Destiny 2. City of X is my one true MMO love. I'm glad it's back!
  11. Collective Soul Costume 2 Collective Soul Costume 3
  12. Finally buttoned down a (working) bio for my Lovecraftian Brute:
  13. Yeah, I Super Leapt right by and had to come back. I have my name in circular Galiffreyan tattooed on my back a TARDIS on my leg and even I missed it...Probably because it's red!
  14. Found this in Night Ward, randomly.
  15. I solo a lot, too. Most MMOs I play solo, in fact. I do mix it up. Join the Looking For Group Channels. Join a group occasionally to break up the monotony of leveling, especially during slumps. It's fun and easy to join a Radio Group of a Task Force/Strike Force. And, you can still level when side-kicked down to a lower level.
  16. Hello, my name is a Mark of Antares and I have two pages of alts. No one over level 24. It took me a two years to get a 50 during live.
  17. I write bios for my characters, too! I don't often RP, though - I try to make characters that don't speak much! lol Character bios are one of the unique aspects of CoX that I love.
  18. I avoided Psychic Shockwave, Mind Probe and Drain Psyche All require you to be point blank and thats not how I play. 99% of the time im on hover above the team CCing all the potentially threats. Levitate looses its functionality in the elder game, Telekinesis while hilarious just isn't practical. Telekinectic Thrust like levitate looses it usefulness its very rare an enemy gets close enough to use it. Mind Probe is great on auto attack for when mobs get in close. Plus it gives you a small amount of endurance back. And Drain Psyche is awesome! Use Total Domination before Domination ends, go in, Drain Pschye and get all your Endurance back.
  19. My DM/Bio Brute is godly and he's only lvl 22 My Dark/Time Corruptor is fun but a bit of an end hog at lvl 23. So far those are the only new powerset toons I've made.
  20. I joined CoX with City of Villains. My first character (long since abandoned because I had no idea what I was doing) leveling in Cap au Diable. I was coming out of a mission on the side of the cliff around Aeon City. As I came out so did a small Dominator - I can still remember it: Hooded, raggedy dressed, wrapped hands. A Mind/Psi named Azazel. I immediately logged out and created one. I've been chasing Mind/Psi ever since. And that name.
  21. First off, did you seriously just Google me? That is insanely creepy. Secondly, CoX ended in 2012. Kamen Rider Drive, and the official character Mach, did not exist until 2014. So unless you want to argue I'm clairvoyant or a time traveller, then the fact is I happened to pick a name and theme loosly similar to something Bandai eventually did afterwards. If you're first instinct isn't to google someone, are you really living in the 21st century?
  22. First of all, I think this thread and the OP need some definitions: homage noun hom·age | \ ˈä-mij , ˈhä-, sense 2 b is often ō-ˈmäzh a : expression of high regard : RESPECT bowed in homage to the king —often used with pay Her work pays homage to women artists of the past. b : something that shows respect or attests to the worth or influence of another : TRIBUTE his long life filled with international homages to his unique musical talent — People copy noun \ ˈkä-pē \ plural copies Definition of copy 1 : an imitation, transcript, or reproduction of an original work (such as a letter, a painting, a table, or a dress) 2 : one of a series of especially mechanical reproductions of an original impression also : an individual example of such a reproduction Your costumes are clearly copies of the original. My Nefarios Ghast character from Live is a homage to Sinestro:
