  1. Yes, compatible with both launchers. I'm running 11 now. It's fine.
  2. Cool thing about elude... the speed boost. You see that icon flash, you run like hell. Nothing will catch you before it drops. The End boost is nice too. And I normally pop unleash potential right before it drops anyways. I can keep fighting if I have blues, or if the destiny power that refills endurance is up.
  3. Sell you on it? Not even going to try. That being said... I use them. It depends on the powerset and any tools it might have to mitigate the crash. Also, depends on what incarnates you take. Take Electric Armor's tier 9. Jacks your END and lowers your health. But it has an EMP effect that stuns mobs when it drops. And Electric Armor can re-fill your END, and has a single power that will reduce your endurance costs while healing you. Top that off with say barrier to shield you while you recover, and the only hard part is re-toggling your powers. Hell I even use unstoppable in a pinch. Like engaging with mobs that can drop your toggles via endurance drain. Unstoppable gives you added endurance and resistance that doesn't require toggles. And once again I pair it with barrier right before it drops if I'm in a bad situation. Honestly I used those powers even back in the day before Incarnates because the blaster in me like's skirting the edge. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment. And of course, you don't actually NEED any of the tier 9's. You can skip them and be fine if you build right. Most people do. But barrier just makes them too damned attractive for me to bypass.
  4. Switching to sentinel didn't solve your problem. You still abandoned your blaster at level 46. A few more levels and you could have had perma-clarion. A respec could have given you Rune of Protection. Knowing your enemy and leveraging lucks when needed is often a better solution than break frees because they cut incoming damage. I love sentinels for the same reasons you do, but I didn't give up on blasters. In fact I probably have more blasters than any other archetype in my roster. 2 in the veteran levels. One relies on clarion, and the other has so much ranged defense that I rarely worry about mez protection. And she's /Martial, and that set has a built in break free. Mez is annoying in the early game, but as your build matures it's just not that big a deal. Still having issues with it at level 46? That's kind of a you thing.
  5. I tried to love tankers for the longest time, but never could find a build that held my interest for long. Don't get me wrong SS was always my favorite melee set, but I used it on brutes. Then along comes Elec/Elec/Mu. Decent AoE potential, a solid taunt aura, resistance to drain effects and good PSI protection too. The build let me experience and come to love high level tankers, and I'm starting to experiment with other builds again. So yeah, I highly recommend */elec because it just doesn't have the holes or negatives of other sets. It can laugh off sappers, master illusionists, and the awakened. Plus it has built in +recharge, and endurance management tools. elec/* is an interesting set. I like SS and EM more but lightning rod is fun and hits like a mini-nuke. My only real complaint with it is that it feels gimpy until the 40's range. After that it's kind of a monster. I think I'll do something weird next. Pair SS with Elec. Could be interesting. I'll likely miss the AoE, but I do love rage.
  6. The more I use martial the more I love it. It really does pair well with just about any primary. So far I've used it with both Ice and DP to great effect.
  7. Martial. Good synergy and the animations just look great together.
  8. It would be one that I haven't built yet. Fire/Atomic.
  9. That's a loaded question. I'm a long time blaster. I could likely make any build work. For me blasting is more about mentality than powerset. Basically dispense with the idea of being a ranged combatant. That's for Sentinels. Think of blasters as rat bastards. Saboteurs capable of doing massive damage as long as they can get in and out of combat upright. It's a game of figuring the odds, knowing when to retreat, and knowing when you can survive ridiculous odds. You can't afford to make many mistakes, so situational awareness is a must. You have to know your opponents, use the environment and their AI against them. Know your own strengths, and don't be afraid to get close if it nets you an opportunity to do massive damage. Stealth is your friend. All my blasters use at least some stealth, and with some I aim for complete invisibility. It let's you survey the battlefield before engagement. All that being said, my first blaster on live was FIRE/FIRE. And that for a noob was a huge mistake. I didn't know the game well, didn't understand blasters, and suffered mightily because that build has very little in the way of mitigation. Not a big deal for a pro... but to a noob? The face plants were numerous. The good news is YOU don't have that limitation. You've been playing the game so you're not going in blind. Being a squishy is going to be a bit of a shock to you, but you'll likely adapt. I'm going to suggest ICE/Energy Manip. And while there are better builds out there this combo gives you the ability to lock down enemies and then take them apart with high damaging melee attacks. Given your melee focused background I think you'll like the synergy. Good luck.
  10. Overall a good set. Neutrino Bolt: Fast activation and recharge. Never liked it. Its damage is meh. X-Ray Beam: Functionally and aesthetically pleasing. Irradiate: Solid PBAOE with good damage that can tank the defenses of targets. Electron Haze: Not a fan. Its slow animation and questionable damage never did it for me. But now that you can change KB to KD it's likely worth it. Aim: Is aim baby. Proton Volley: Might just be my favorite snipe. Cosmic Burst: Who doesn't love a high damaging stun? Neutron Bomb: Hate it. Slow, with sucky damage. That being said I tend to take it to supplement my AoE potential. Though I may switch this to electron haze at some point. Atomic Blast: Great nuke. As an added bonus to its ludicrous AoE damage you get a mass hold. I have a vet level Rad/Atomic blaster and there are some nice synergies with that combo. Is Radiation Blast the best? Nah, but it's far from the worst. The damage is pure energy which bypasses a lot of in-game mob resistance. It doesn't have an annoying amount of KB and it has AIM a good snipe, and a sprinkling of control .
  11. Never mind. I didn't know you could utilize light form when using squid or crab. Is that a recent change? A squid with heavy resists and status protection could be sizzzzzzick.
  12. Is there any point to maintaining the other forms?
  13. LOL. As a matter of fact the AT clicks with me fine after they blunted that arbitrary limitation. Good thing someone with the ability to make changes saw how stupid it was in the first place.
  14. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I don't get it. Having a moderately powered AT balanced with a LOL you lose mechanic hurt it overall.
  15. My comments weren't about how things ARE. They were about quantums at inception. The whole design was flawed because Kheldians weren't powerful enough to warrant Kryptonite. Having a single minion ruin your day because he could mez and flatline your ass in a couple shots wasn't worth the trouble. Maybe that's why they nerfed the damn things. And now that I think about it, the whole "story line" bit goes out the window because the little bastards would show up on team missions that weren't part of it.
  16. I can only compare it to other blaster sets I've played. Fire outclasses it in raw damage. But Radiation uses less endurance and has a bit of CC. Ice outclasses it in CC. But Radiation has greater AOE potential and an actual snipe. I also think Atomic blast is a superior nuke. Weirdly I prefer Electric to Radiation. On its own Radiation blast is better, but Elec has greater synergy with some secondaries like /Elec and /EM. DP and Radiation are kind of equal to me. DP has better single target and AoE attacks but it's mostly S/L and therefore highly resisted. Using pyro rounds does help with that though. In the end I found DP to be surprisingly effective. Atomic blast might edge things in radiation blast's favor a bit. Also DP has no snipe. Beam VS. Radiation.... I'm going to have to throw my support behind Beam Rifle. The Burst damage is effing ridiculous. 3 shotting bosses ridiculous. Sure the AoE options are middling... but hot damn. Toss in disintegration to add insult to injury and Beam is a freaking beast.
  17. I've used both sets to great success but not together. Rad/Rad blaster and DP/Martial. I like both but I'm not sure I'd pair them together. But off hand, you could teleport into the middle of a spawn doing mild damage, then unleash irradiate lowering defense, followed by dragon's tail knocking them off their feet. Then flow right into atomic blast. Damn if that don't sound tasty. And then you could also follow up cosmic burst with eagle's claw and stun bosses while doing massive single target damage. If I wasn't already leveling an ICE/MA blaster right now I'd try that combo myself. The sustain isn't just a taunt effect. It's also fairly noticeable mitigation and absorption. Martial also comes with it's own break free. How cool is that? And honestly dude, if you can't see the value of a high damage single target melee attack that does extreme damage and has a high value DoT effect after the fact? I don't know what to tell you.
  18. I was once derided for mentioning the heal. Even though I said it was part of a water/bio build. Maybe in isolation it's not great unless you figure in procs. But on bio, a set with ablative carapace it can be pretty damned good. by the time the carapace drops you can regain some lost health while dealing out damage. And of course Rebuild DNA also figures in. I guess your mileage may vary and what not.
  19. Beat me to it. Water isn't a bad set. Not in the least. It's not my favorite, but I never felt like I made a bad choice with it on a sentinel. *Energy on the other hand... meh.*
  20. From a raw playability standpoint that's beside the point. Great they have a story line, so let's f@#k them up with extra hazards. Where's the risk vs. reward calculation there? So you can follow a story line? Pft.
  21. Because I like Brutes, and already have 2 higher level tankers and a scrapper who's about to hit 50.
  22. Both. Great anti-boss strategy. Bosses are hold resistant. They can normally shrug off a single hold unless It came from a controller or domination boosted dominator. Open with BFR then light em up with Freeze Ray. By the time they break that hold they'll be practically iced. (see what I did there?)
  23. Given the changes to Energy Melee I decided to give it another go. I paired it with Bio armor which I know nothing about. I've run the new toon up to about level 31. I like the feel of the build. I'm going to take it into the late game. So I decided to copy my build to beta and max it out in levels and enhancers. I'm not really an min-maxer. I don't take powers to act as mules. If I have a power I wanted it. The survivability of my build didn't surprise me. +4, +8 spawns are kind of laughable as long as I turn off the sapper first. What is a pleasant surprise though is the jaw dropping damage. I sometimes have problems with master illusionists. but they go down FAST!!! I think Bio might just be my new favorite armor. Which is saying something, because I love Electric Armor enough to marry it. https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1441&c=676&a=1352&f=HEX&dc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
