  1. I don't have my tanker/brute builds proc bombed and tankers are still darn close in ST DPS to brutes.

  3. Curious. By what metric are you justifying this by? I am just seeing people sharing their anecdotal opinions and not gathering any data for themselves. I literally only noticed brutes doing roughly 16% more ST DPS TODAY. That is single target. Tankers still do noticeably better AOE. This isn't even talking about the base AND max HP difference of the two. And the fact tankers have noticeably higher resistance/defense out of the box. Brutes needed love back in 2011. It's 2025 now. The AT was OP and got toned down to far. Tankers stayed relatively the same up until recently then they got massively over tuned. Tankers definitely don't need to be back to what they were, especially considering that genie is now out of the bottle. Brutes need to be tweaked and made relevant again. I say this primarily as a scrapper player. Scrappers just straight up sprint away with DPS when compared to brutes. Brutes, imo, should do that when compared to tankers. This used to be the case. Certainly isn't now.
  4. I definitely do. Yes, it requires the ATO1 proc in an always-on PBAOE aura, but it is possible. Staying above 90 past the duration the temp is on though? HAH! Not a thing. Brutes definitely need love. Make it possible to go to 100% fury and STAY THERE when active, up their damage cap, and adjust the amount Fury contributes to dmg % as it climbs. As of TODAY my ele/tw tanker and tw/ele brute are only 16% different in ST DPS. That isn't factoring in anything else. Considering tankers are STILL the kings of melee AOE and are stupidly survivable...yeah. Still no reason to roll a brute over a tanker if you have the choice. Scrappers and stalkers straight up dog walk brutes in terms of DPS. Tankers say "thats cute" at a brute's survivability. Whoever said that tankers, brutes, and scrappers are interchangeable doesn't know how this game works. Seriously ignorant statement. *I can't think of a decent solution to weaken tankers, but brutes definitely need love. They are supposed to be an in-between of Tankers/Scrappers and they are NOT.
  5. Funny, I myself and normally in the "bring other things up" camp, but I definitely agree...Tankers needed to be toned down. It reminds me of the warranted TW nerf. TW needed it. It was so damn OP that it made other sets just feel pointless to play.
  6. I don't think a Brute ATO would ever be balanced to turn the AT in to a Tanker.
  7. I can't comment about Psi Armor on Scrappers, since I only have experience with it on a Brute so far, but...it's really strong. It's not as damaging as other secondaries, but it has some really cool tools at its disposal. Overall, the set feels like a very solid win. I can definitely recommend it. When all three OH SHIs get pooped your HP/s can get really damn high. Surprisingly high. To the point the HP/s it gets up to actually matters. Aura of Insanity's HP drain isn't high enough to really worry me in practice, whereas it was before when I read about it. The PBAOE aura is actually really cool. The set makes use of the new Adaptive Recharge mechanic really well. To the point I wish it would get used with older sets who could greatly benefit from it (looking at you Dark Melee's Soul Drain...).
  8. Not just you. The set is pretty hard to get down for it's most optimal performance. If you do, even then, it won't exactly light your fires. It goes from bad to "this isn't horrible". I won't lie. If the set doesn't click for you after Conc Strike...it just isn't going to. Can the set be super satisfying when things align? Oh yea. They can. But the steady prod of it...it's a lot of plink plink plink VAAAAAAAWOOOOOOOSSHHHHH plink plink plink and oh hey the really weird BU power is up again.
  9. Tankers got a really good ATO1. That is a stand out one to me for being really good for the classes "role". I really can't think of other ATOs that are as notoriously crap as Brute's ATO2. Brute's didn't get a good ATO1, but wow....that ATO2 is something else levels of garbage. The idea I'd have for the Brute ATO2 would be it has a chance to proc deflection. It would mitigate incoming damage and boost outcoming damage.
  10. I'm leveling a TW/Psi Brute right now and I have ZERO clue how to slot the non-armor powers in it. So I'm very curious how this will go.

    lol I totally get that one. Lots of self restraint, especially with the changes that just hit. Need a mental c*ck cage. I'm also pretty negatively minded about Regen as a whole. I was there when it got nerfed HARD (talking about the original IH nerf) and the set didn't get any signifigant changes until...well...now. The set was pretty flipping bad. I'm hoping the fact it got some love for once changes that.

  14. I have seen a lot of praise towards Adaptive Recharge. I'm not for or against. Literally just neutral. I did test it and it did as I understood. It added to the cooldown with more mobs in range. Normally that doesn't get praise. Am I missing something?
  15. I personally put the ATO2 in EC to get the chance to crit as high as I could with CaK and SK. It's worked....very well. The chain I use is: EC - SK - CaK - Snipe - EC - SK - CaK - SK Since EC has a long base recharge the ATO2 goes off pretty often. Combined with EC's natively higher crit % and how it boost the crit chance of the next two martial arts attacks in my chain, it has really great results. I'd give it a go and see if you like it. EC does have a long animation time. Luckily, I like the animation and it feels pretty good. This also pairs really well with EC - SK - Dragon's Tail to get good AOE out of things. What @Uun shared actually really does put a spotlight on why I went this route. I speculated the boost from EC would pay off for my playstyle...and it does. A lot. MA goes back and forth taking the top spot for my best melee DPS spot. I definitely prioritize SK and CK in my rotation since they have a higher crit chance then Snipe. So, if I exemp down low enough I don't keep the Snipe? I'm not exactly butt hurt.
  16. I'm going to need to see numerical proof of this cause this is absolutely not been what I'm seeing in actual gameplay. I tried to make numerous DPS rotations WITHOUT EC be better and never found one. The thing is, I DO have numerical proof that EC is part of the best MA attack chain. I've shared it here in these forums a few times actually.
  17. Is the intended KB protection supposed to be worse or better then the current iteration? I'm leveling a TW/ELE Brute in anticipation of these changes. I'd do TW/PSI but I can't make sense if that set is going to be worth it to me.
  18. I remember City of Brutes. I saw zero reason to play any melee class other then a Brute. I do NOT want to ever have CoB ever again. The slider went to far though. The Fury nerf and DOA ATO2 made sure Brutes were hurt even more. Then the seriously OP Tanker changes made Brutes pretty much irrelevant...Brutes brought nothing to the table that a Tanker or Scrapper didn't do better. Brutes felt like they were in a place in between Tankers and Scrappers and that was really good. Now (before the impending tanker changes) there is no reason to go Brute over a Scrap or Tanker. I'm PLing a TW/ELE brute in hopes that the changes make the class relevant again. A ELE/TW tanker is easy mode right now. Feels like there is zero risk/reward. Just all reward. *The ATO2 is the biggest insult to the class there is. ATO1 for the class is "meh" at least. I had a solution years and years ago regarding that unique. Can't remember it now. Maybe something like give all incoming attacks for X amount of time to do x% damage back?

  22. I use ATO2 in Follow Through. That's why I run this rotation: ST BM - FT - Rend - AOD - FT - Rend - (if FF proc) AoD (if no proc I use Whirlwind) - FT Snipe - CB - FT - Rend - AoD- FT AOE BM - WW - AoD - FT - WW - AoD - FT - WW Snipe - CB - WW - AoD- FT- WW @Ratch_ Does similar but I think they put ATO2 in red? And run a similar chain but with Rend where FT is for my chain? I just know they have really good results with that chain.
  23. It needs to be Autohit for one. And it needs to give at least 1x stack of the buff even if nothing is around (if one thing is around you still only get 1x stack...just saying if SD is activated you get 1x regardless). And the DMG buff % needs to be doubled up to 5x stacks at least. Cause DM is real crap DPS unless you get 10x stack of the buff, and that's just to get middle of the road with the other sets (yes, I've tested this). Change Soul Drain and the set does OK DPS. It has real fun mechanics (one of my favorite sets to play). The damage just really really dips off when you don't have a full stack of SD going on, It's really noticeable.
  24. You'd still get all that sans the -20 -DEF when double stacked. That crash, even before the complete eff you the -20 DEF nerf was there, is the reason I don't like playing the set. If you take away Rage, SS just feels like pre-vamp EM (ie. really bad). Rage and Soul Drain (from Dark Melee) both need serious tweaking. Rage makes SS OP when stacking starts and Soul Drain needs editing to make DM not completely suck #s wise.
  25. I get ya. I really do. It's mechanically a pretty boring set (to me) and Rage definitely needs to be tuned. With that said, proliferation is always good. Yea, it does really amazing DPS for tankers/brutes...but a Rage crash is annoying as all get out. Throw that one on a Scrapper? Yeesh. I have a lot of issues with how horrible DM's DPS is, but at least mechanically it doesn't have that crap going on.
