After updating Mac OSX to Ventura 13.5.1 my client refuses to run.
Tuft replied to Tuft's topic in Help & Support
Got it to work with the kind assistance of @Manga. 1: Installed the HC Launcher. I had the package in a Dropbox folder, which did not work. I had to move it out of Cloud Storage to install the package properly as an app. 2: Reboot and *then* run the launcher. The reboot made the launcher properly ask for needed permissions. 3: Working client! -
issue 27 Focused Feedback: Permanent NPC Costume Power Rewards
Tuft replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Does this mean that this Aether will be purchasable the regular way, using Inf in the AH? And if so, will this resource be seeded in the AH, setting a "reasonable price", as were done with Salvage? There are a lot of farmers with very large coffers out there... -
Hurricane (from Storm Summoning) making people physically ill?
Tuft replied to Spectral's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well, I'm one of the few that suffers from this. When the rotating spinning disk occupies a large portion of my field of view I get vertigo and experience motion sickness. If it keeps occurring it can finally become so bad that I have to go and lie down motionless with my eyes closed for several hours. I once played a TF, I think it was Citadel or perhaps Hess, when I played a tank and a storm defender kept enveloping me in the rotating disk. I was still pretty fresh to HC, so I did not speak up and instead tried to toughen it out. Well, I got a really bad case of motion sickness and I was still queasy the next morning, bad enough that I had problems getting to work that day. Its not the only FX that can induce vertigo: When they revamped Disruption Arrow the HC Devs asked me try out various options, until they finally found something that did not give me vertigo, which I am very grateful for. 🙂 -

[How2] Basic Installation Guide [MacOS - Apple M1]

Note that CoH is unable to switch audio device once it has been started. So, in order for it to work with my Bluetooth headset, I have to first plug in the headset, make sure it works, *then* I start CoH entirely from scratch. And if the headset for some reason loses connection, e.g I bring it with me too far from my computer or Discord messes with my audio settings, I have to log off entirely and restart CoH to get the audio to work again. This is an old issue, I remember complaining about it back on live. -
issue 27 Patch Notes for November 26th, 2021 - Issue 27, Page 3
Tuft replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Agreed, especially with really large opponents. (Looking at e.g. Sentinel of Mot in Dilemma Diabolique) -
Character select pages skipped: goes from page 10 to 12, and 20 to 22.

Focused Feedback: Power Changes (Build 1)
Tuft replied to Arcanum's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
It is OK seeing it at a distance, but still a bit iffy if you stand in the center of the effect (such as if e.g. you are playing the team's tank). Also, has anyone tried multiple interfering arrow at once? Did not have time to try it right now, unfortunately. -
Any way to turn off the FX on disruption arrow? It gives me a headache...

yes, it is sad, because we had lots of fun in that bow users group. -

No, Disruption Arrow has no recoloring or similar options at all , only a "no redraw" option. And if here had been such an option, going around and asking all Trick Arrow users you encounter to "please change your colors because *you* are giving me a headache, migraine or other discomfort", well, that would be a hard sell... -
Is there any way to turn off the FX on disruption arrow, like changing its texture? Or could the devs add an option to Null the Gull for this, like the one for speedboosts? It actually gives me a headache, and one of my friends complains of migraines. It really sucks to leave a TF when someone hauls out one of those arrows. 😞 It is a long time ago, but I think the devs on live had to remove that particular FX due to the complaints at that time, just because of migraines…

I would love to simply have the option to hide the FX on Sound Barrier.

Rebooting entire laptop fixed issue, but client lost graphics settings.

As I said above: It is not about the quality of the zones, not about the writing or the ATs. It's about the subject matter. Stuff like Westin Phipps arc makes me quite literally sick to the stomach, as in want to throw up.
-
Yep, it is the subject matter, not the tech.

Weekly Discussion 49: Alternate FX/Animations.
Tuft replied to GM Miss's topic in General Discussion
I would love some kind of customization for the "built-in" powers, such as when you trigger domination and get that big white flash right in the face. It is a pain to look away whenever you are about to trigger it. It would also be nice to be able to shrink some very large lore pets that tend to block the line of sight for your team-mates. -
Boom-Boom, Cidri and Atomatrix rests after defeating the horrible Doctor Vahzilok and his dreadful wasting disease. This arc finale is special place for me, because in this early update I for the first time saw what the developers could do with a little more time on their hands and with less of the early issues´ madcap rush. I remember how I was stunned entering this room many years ago, expecting the usual sewer room.

Meanwhile, the "Revenant Hero" arc, which is also rated as a level 39 arc, gave the expected badges: "Stalwart", "Obligated" and "Phoned it in". It is very frustrating to have an entire arc done under a bunch of restrictions without getting the expected badge Ouro rewards. Unfortunately, I could not find much on what arcs to avoid. 😞
-
Ok, figured it out: Some Ourobous badges seems misplaced: The "A Matter of Honor" arc is listed as a level 39 arc, and selecting the arc I was limited to level 39. However, as a reward I recieved the "Still" no-travel-power badge, which is awarded for level 30-34 missions. Since I was doing missions from low to hight, I sometimes got badges I already had...

[Staging] Patch Notes for April 1st, 2020 (Hotfix)
Tuft replied to Faultline's topic in [Staging] Patch Notes
Couldn't this be done to regular pets too, please? -
I would love to have scaleable pets!

I've tried a bunch of differerent Ouroboros arcs, but lately I've not received any badges from them. For example, I just sucessfully executed the War of The Fir Bolg (Croatoa 2) in the Defender of Truth range: but did not get the Still, Valiant or Dull badges. First I thought I was doing them at -1 or doing them without Defeats or Time Limit Options, but changing those did not help...
