I hate to be cynical (or do I...?), but words like 'guardrails' make me very nervous. I sincerely hope this 'alleged' 'relationship' doesn't devolve into a master/slave or publisher/dev type thing and NCSoft at some point demand that MTX/cash shop/loot boxes/season passes/gacha/etc be shoe-horned into the game, so they can take a 50% cut say, and make it worth their while, ahem. 'Licensed' now also means they can simply refuse to re-license at the next anniversary or simply issue a C&D for any reason whatsoever I'd be willing to bet, as HC have now formally and legally acknowledged them as the rightful owners of their instance/version. I simply don't trust any large gaming companies like them any longer, fool me once, twice, thrice, you canna fool me no more! ;) Out of interest, does HC have an 'untouchable' backup of the current build we have access to, and/or another 'secret' hosting location they can fall back to, should the need arise to go rogue again? I would like to think that HC would have the foresight to make a bullet-proof escape vector possible for themselves, even if the game has to spring up somewhere else under a different name. Also, do we as players and supporters have any access to our hero data (an export at the very least), so we have a Plan B, in case of a worst-case scenario guys...?

Ouch! The superior purples would be a killer for me - I was just happy I could get the normal Ascendancy of the Dominator for 8.25% lol! I guess I'll just get used to having dom on auto-cast, and I'll double-bind my WASD keys to casting Hasten as well - if that's not enough I can do a keyboard macro with my Razer to hit some bind key like 'H' every second or two to 'manually' cast it, so long as that's not going to get me into trouble, ahem.

Just curious if anyone knows of a good way to auto-pop Hasten, as I already have Domination as my auto-click power (and I think you can only have one)...? Also, I assume the minimum 123.75% recharge is 50% or so coming from Hasten, which would also need to be perma for both skills to work effectively together. Would love to be able to set up a macro and fire&forget Domination once I fill up my bar for the first time, but I know, you can't have everything, where would you put it? ;) Actually, just googled auto powers and found this very old Gamespot article which suggests this might work: /bind h "powexec_auto hasten" Is that actually as simple as it is lol? So, I CTRL-CLICK Domination (which seems to be persistent between logins, unless I completely drain my END); and then I just use above macro at start of session (or upon first Dom going off) and hey presto, that's it!? ---- NM - too good to be true - that bind just switches the auto-click from Domination to Hasten. Fabulous, I get it now, cheers! Back to working on 2 or 3 more sets and a couple more LotG slots for my perma-dom then, yay! ---- At 65% - only a 24sec gap to bridge! :) I wish there was a macro or some way to auto-fire Hasten, not just Domination - anyone have any suggestions pls? I know I'm going to forget all the time and miss hitting the Hasten button & therefore have my perma-dom drop... <sad monkey face>

Not sure how you guys have 'perma' dom, even with enough recharge to pop it off as soon(er) as it expires! My problem is, as a mostly solo carebear, how do I rebuilt the dom bar quick enough to make domination even feel like it's semi-perm...? As it stands, unless I'm in a big group doing trials say (which I've been dipping my toe into), it take far longer for me to refill my bar, than for the cooldown to get recharged. Even at just level 26, with a few of the above sets + 2 or 3 LoTGs, I only have 30 secs downtime between dom cycles, a but that's not the issue, refilling the bar i.e. killing a LOT of mobs quickly, after the cycle ends, is far more of an issue for me while soloing...

Excelsior still down. Did updates, restarted launcher 10 times. First Torchbearer showed up as online, now also Reunion + Everlasting. 2 most active servers still offline...of course. Launcher still saying "Error retrieving shard status", whatever that means. What have you done guys...? sigh ---- NM - rest came up 5 mins later. Client crashed and came back with login server errors a couple times, but I'm finally back in, YAY! :D ---- But wait - my 50+ auction items have disappeared! W...T...A...F guys??? ---- A couple logs later they mysteriously reappeared. Things are not stable...

First thing I do is get a few inf from my other mains/alts, and get the rocket pack from P2W vendor (among all the other free things). You can use the jump pack too in a pinch. I then used to go to the 8 exploration plaques and get my first 5 merits that way, which = 15 enhanc converters. Cool million right there on AH to kick off with. However, they recently changed the badge to require 10 exploration sites, so the Atlas Tour Guide achievement doesn't give you the merits on its own any more, I had to go and get 3 more in Kings Row for some reason, eh. Of course, if you already have 100s of millions/billions on alts you can just email yourself any amount! A true SSF hero would need to earn 2-3K the old fashioned way before you can even put your 1st converter on the AH to sell for ~60K usually.

Late to the party...(looking for an Aussie SG)...I mostly come at night...mostly. I'm predominantly a solo carebear, I spend more time making alts with certain themes/looks. Which is why I have only the 1st page at lvl 20-40, no 50s and the rest all drop off sharply (yes, I'm campin some of he best names - fight me! ;-p). Ok, so I'm really into my plant/thorns dom right now, loved grouping with her, she's a a bit slow solo, but very safe, eh. Would love to join an Oceanic/Aussie SG with her, if only to dominate better! However, I'm very time limited and would need a very casual group, mostly so I don't have to wait 5-10mins in queues every time, or beg in LFG chat to get invited, not my jam, so I mostly end up solo grinding some more he he.

Thanks guys, that's great advice! I have 3 or 4 LotGs I can unslot from other toons already, so should be able to afford the rest! (forgot to mention, I'd prefer to build an all-ranged dom if possible, so that will change some of the sets and powers above no doubt) I also don't really understand the predilection for Vines. It's got a very long recharge time, and seems inferior in every way to Roots. The only thing it appears to be good for is sticking 4 Bas Gazes into it to get the 7.5% global recharge - is that it...? 8-/ Same with 4 in Strangler then I guess?

Would love to see a budget build (say <=100mill) for a plant/thorns dom, with only the more affordable set IOs and padded out with attuned std IO enhancements where possible. (I mostly solo, so there is that...) I'm really enjoying mine, but am worried about how she will scale through the terrible twenties and thirties if I make some mistakes. Is it even possible to build a perma-dom without massive investment in unique/global enhancements for the -recharge...?

I feel like you want to play a Fortunata instead. Or a Warshade. ;)

You can also buy cheap 25-30 melee set recipes (uncommon), craft them, use the converters to make a rare anything until you get something worth 1.5-2mill in the AH. And you can get 15 enh convertors just by visiting all the exploration badges in Atlas which takes a couple mins. That easy. If you don't mind some complexity, you can also start a Kheldian or Arachnos now without needing a level 50. I love my Peacebringer - free flight from level 1! :). Warshades get free teleport and stealth, but need decent investment in enhancements to solo effectively with. Hey, you get 3 forms and types of classes in 1 - melee, ranged and tank! Widows and Soldiers take some time/levels to get going, depending on whether you end up specialising in melee or ranged. I do love my Fortunata! I've also loved most of my stalkers, corruptors and masterminds. You can't go wrong with controller if you go Illusion/Dark (my main for a long time) or Storm. Very recently I finally tried a dark/ninja blaster which has been the only blaster I've ever not felt completely squishy with - just dinged 33 and still having a blast! I think corruptors have the edge in versatility and fun factor for soloing over blasters though. Any tanker will make you feel godly in this game! I really enjoyed my Psychic/Shield. Defenders are also highly underrated ranged heroes which excel at buffing/debuffing in parties. I don't like pure melee classes as a general rule, with only a few exceptions. I don't have a lot of exp with Doms, but I hear mostly good things about them, if you prefer the control style of play. I hope you enjoy whatever you pick, just remember - if you're not enjoying it, this game is an alt-o-holic's wet dream! ;)

Dangit! I just took a closer look at a Dark/Ninjitsu Sentinel! ALL of the Ninja powers look so much more useful when compared to my Blaster, which I'm only really using Shinobi and Kuji-In Toh from. What would be the pro-cons? Does Shinobi-Iri provide innate stealth, like the blaster Shinobi does...? If not, is there any other Sentinel secondary which does? Otherwise, just grabbing Stealth from the Concealment pool could be a better option anyway, given the recent upgrade to the power? Actually, doesn't look like Ninja even has stealth for Sentinels, but Dark does - very nice! :D The other thing I'd be missing is the sniper power Moonbeam - I guess the Sentinel primary has something close to it...?

That just gave me an idea. Wouldn't it be cool if we could trade entire heroes (name, costume, current level/powers/enhancements, etc) on the AH...perhaps with just a hardcoded acknowledgement of the original creator somewhere in the Bio or the like, which couldn't be changed...? Or perhaps not.

@Snarky working on my dark/ninja blaster and still having a blast! In adapting your dark/temp mids build Snarky, I have a few questions: 1. I can't afford superior anything just yet in Blaster, so am using the normal versions (still 7-8 mill each!) - hopefully that's a good approach 2. As I acquired some of the blaster sets, I ended up with Blaster's Wrath in Gloom, so may have to switch Defiant Barrage into Blackstar. Does it matter a lot which set goes into which power, as the overall bonuses look similar to me, and the globals will obviously apply anyway...? 3. I didn't understand the point of Cloud Senses:Chance for Negative in Umbral Torrent, as it does lots of negative dmg anyway, so I just stuck a 5th Bombardment in there - was that a mistake? Even SA:KB to KD is probably a waste as I mostly solo and actually want to keep the mobs at range as far away as possible...correct? Any other tips for a Dark/Ninja blaster much appreciated. I'm finding Shinobi and Kuji fantastic, but hardly use Immob Dart or Blinding Powder at 32. Golden Dragonfly is fun to smash elites/bosses with once they inevitably move into melee range :) (it just needs a lot more enhance investment, not sure if it's worth it at endgame - I may spec out of it into pools or epics by then anyway). He he, I just recently made a fire/dev blaster called Ember Sparks :). I also have a elec/energy stalker called Elektralight. an elec/elec def called Elektralite, elec/elec corr called Electricksity, elec/temp blaster Elektra Chronos, grav/elec dom Gravelektra. And they're certainly not my favourite or best work by far!

Yup. I'm a huge fan of WH40K. I made a massive, armoured beast of a brute (broadsword/shield) which I wanted to call Space Wolf. Taken. No surprise. A couple attempts later I landed Romulv. Which I am actually happier with. It's really not that hard... And I have 20+ toons which I spent a lot of time on the costume and theme, picked a good name for, and spent very little time playing. So I should give those up just because some other whiney pimple-nosed tweeny wants the name...? F No. I even made a hero for my wife, for her favourite tv character. He's in a suit, dark hair, mo+beard, very good looking, with white wings, fire/mental dom from memory. His name is Lucifer Morningstar. Because Lucifer was taken, shock, horror! If she ever deigns to play CoH with me, she has a readily transferable name and costume ready to go (although she might need to play something less challenging than a dom first he he...although come to think of it, given her RL skills...hmmm....).

On the plus side, all the whiner-wajinas who couldn't get their beloved, Gods-given name, have left in a huff, so Excelsior doesn't have queues in prime time any longer!

ROFLMAO! They need to make a vampire-themed Deliverance...hence the banjo. I think it's long overdue and there is a market for it.

I think the devs should ban all fence-sitters and release all their character names immediately!
