Struggling with END already now that I'm in the mid teens...what recovery enhances would ppl recommend? Scourging Blast over Malice of the Corruptor...? I only use the following toggles: Mystic Flight (usually turn off just before fights), Hover, Steamy Mist and Prestige Power Rush (with Celerity: Stealth, but only until I can get a Freebird: Stealth). All others are just SO 15s for now. Any advice? My rotation includes: Snow Storm, Tenebrous, Night Fall (for crowds), Gale (as needed), Gloom, Moonbeam (when charged up); also Nemesis Staff & Blackwand quite a bit currently to supp the main dmg powers. Survival hasn't been an issue at all, just END - and if I run out of that & all my toggles go off, it's usually lights out! 😉

I've just started a theme dark/storm corruptor & I must say, having the snipe at lvl 2 is amazing! The CC from Storm is also very complimentary. Prob my favourite ranged blaster-type character in quite some time.

This is the way I went with my Spider-Woman thematically :). But...I've since tried about a dozen different ATs/builds, damn alt-o-holism! Am actually back on a Time/Beam defender which could turn out to be a lot of fun, just not sure about aoe dmg potential, which might slow it down through the mid-levels, eh. But nothing comes close to my newly revamped necro/dark MM - total beast mode! 😄

I think WS, now that I get the whole 'must find bodies' approach :). I think it suits solo play better overall. I only understood and can prob afford 1/10th of those set enhances and what not lol! But cheers anyway ;). Yeah, I've dabbled in SS & TP, SJ used to be my fave, but now on HC with full speed Fly + AB from level 4 it's no contest really ;). Thanks kindly for the advice & good cheers!

New MM necro/dark is frickin awesom! All I have is 25 IOs, a couple LotGs, a Freebird:Stealth in Fly & the build is pretty much done at 22! Seems you now get the Lich at 22. Once I get the 2nd Knight at 24, just need to grab Hasten and Hover, there's only really Dark Emp & Fluffy left in the 30s, which will be nice, but not essential for normal gaming. With Soul Ext I'm pretty much steamrolling most +2/+2 content as it is he he. Thanks heaps for tips guys, especially Striker for Panacea:Chance slotting into Zombies, which I must try next! 😄

From a casual carebear pov, all I know is, there used to be 100s of cheap melee recipes which I could convert with new toons to make a few small million inf, just to get a head start with SOs for the first 20-30 levels or so. Now, there are single digit amounts and they are asking up to 100K for the recipes, when they used to go for 5-10K. Bleh. I guess like most ppl here (and one said it explicitly), the game is only meant for/aimed at hardcore players with multiple 50s. I'm yet to get one toon to 50, as I much prefer progression to end game, and also due to my rampant OCD alt-o-holism, he he. So, I can't run all those 50+ missions/zones/raids to get heaps of merits or inf, other than playing the AH early conversion game. Any advice on how to work around this market blowout much appreciated. If there are whales creating a monopoly stranglehold on the market, I would hope that the HC admins would do something about it - supply & demand free market economics don't work in mmo virtual markets for very long before something breaks.

Cheers matey, she's parked again at 24 - I went off on a PB/WS tangent, and am now power-levelling my Necro/Dark MM, which is absolutely ludicrous mode, even at +2 diff / 2-player! I had her parked as a Villain, so I switched to Hero, as I much more enjoy the zones, eh. My Fortunata build - don't have Mids or anything, here is a summary: Fortunata Training: - mostly all 25 IOs currently: - Mental Blast - 1 acc, 2 dmg - Subdue - 1 acc, 2 dmg - Dominate - 1 acc, 2 dmg - Aim - 2 rchrg - Psionic Tornado - 2 acc, 3 dmg Teamwork: - Combat Training Def: 1 LotG global rchrg - Tac Train: Manuev - 2 end, 1 def - Combat Train Offens - 1 acc - Indomitable - 1 end, 2 resist dmg - Foresight - 2 def, 1 resist dmg Fortunata Teamwork: - Mark Pres - 1 LotG global rchrg - Mid Link - 1 ToHit buff, 2 deff Pools: - Stamina - 3 end mods - Fly - Freebird Stealth, Flight Speed - Hover - def So, as you can see, very much a WIP. Hope you like the flying with yours, I think it really suits a ranged play style much better.

Hey guys, couple hopefully quick questions: 1. how do I list my keybinds in chat? /bindlist doesn't work on HC...I know I can save them to a file and look at them that way, but that seems a bit silly. 2. I saw somewhere a simple, instant teleport bind, so that when I press the 'F' key for example, it instantly teleports me to where my cursor is pointing - no secondary click, release or anything else (never mind - found this one on one of my alts it's: /bind F "powexec_location Cursor Teleport" 🙂 3. how to I then bind my normal teleport on my Warshade say, to the same key as the Black Dwarf one? Or do I need to re-bind as part of the form switch binds every time? Cheers!

Very late to the Fortunata party. Just dinged 24 & my whole world changed lol! I think getting the Widow to 24 was one of the more painful levelling experiences of my CoH carreer! But, I'm here now, I re-spec'd to pure ranged tonight & the damage, control, safety and end management is like playing an entire new class! Ok, so I intend to solo her to 50 - I rarely group, so if you have any advice on which powers I can drop, especially if they only benefit teams, that would be grand. One thing I don't understand about any of the Fortunata builds presented - I'm baffled that no one takes Fly+Hover with a ranged build - I couldn't play without that freedom! Plus you can add Freebird Stealth to supplement Mask Presence then, so you don't need to have a useless Sprint toggled on sucking end. What am I missing folks...?

Yeah, I barely lost any health just in the 1st 10 levels with a couple builds (Inv/Fire & Bio/Dark). Defenders surprised me on HC - I don't remember them doing anywhere near that amount of dmg back on live, not that I'm complaining! Have a theme Spider-Woman look-a-like (Poison/Energy) & a Storm/Dark. I think the AT def deserves more play time solo, heh. Dafuq? LOL, kidz play the craziest things he he! It's like me deciding to play a pure melee blaster, or pure dmg controller say...😱 Which gives me an idea...has anyone gotten any AT to 50 before just on pool powers i.e. without picking/using a single primary/secondary (apart from the 2 or 3 you have to pick before level 4)...? That would be a challenge for someone like Voltak lol! 😉 Read that in detail before, but there isn't an alien bi-form build specifically, which relegates human-form just to stealth, buffs/heals, no melee support. Perhaps I'm asking for too much, or gimping my PB as a result, I'm not really anti-human you know! 😉 Would a WS fair better without HF perhaps...?

Thanks Gulbasaur, I'm going to look into those suggestions of yours, should I keep levelling the PB. Still trying to find the sweet spot as far as which class resonates with me as a mostly solo carebear...even tried a couple tankers this week, *shock, horror*! 😉

Thanks again to you vet guys. I recently started a dark/temp blaster, also have a psychic/temp from a while back + psychic/mental. Might have to roll a elec/temp and/or beam/temp to see how they go, for sure. I imagine this says that the general consensus is, you can't go wrong with TM as a secondary for any blaster...? Tried several corruptors and doms recently as well, yesterday I went off on a tanker tangent, when I tried to resurrect my old invul/fire tanker Ruby Rock back from live, heh. Then made dark/bio one which is even more tanky I think. The stalkers I tried just didn't stick. Only really enjoying my Ill/Dark troller, PB, beast/nature MM & a couple defenders were ok for solo levelling I guess. The widow is parked at 21, I just can't afford the hospital fees to get her to 24 Fortunata - you def need private health insurance levelling those lol! ---- Finally got my widow to 24 last night. She is now all death-from-above Fortunata ranged goodness! Totally different ballgame with her new powers and approach. Most mobs up to orange just melt before they even get to move, much less get to me, given her core holds and mez powers :D.

I'm getting back into my PB after a long hiatus. Only at 23, but loving the Nova blasting & Dwarf tankiness+heal, really makes this a survivable, fun, mostly ranged build, which is my preferred play style. I only really use the human form for stealth, buffs & Fly/Hover, which is lot more manoeuvrable than Nova Flight. So, is this bi-form viable to end-game? Why no love for the pure alien build? Am I missing something major from the human form that will gimp me later on perhaps...? I was very pleasantly surprised to find that HC had fixed the toggles in HF, so they stay on when you transform back & forth, which is a huge QoL change imo! 🙂 If anyone has any links to a good, affordable build that will take me to 50, would be much obliged. I currently have all 25 IOs slotted, not sure how far they will take me and when I should upgrade again, or switch to attuned IOs.

Yet to get my Fortunata (well lvl 21 Widow) to any place that's not under-powered or squishy as hell. On a whim, went back to my PB which was parked at 22. OMG! So long-ranged deadly with Squidly, so tanky with Dwarfy, so...stealthy & buffy with Hooman form lol? Granted that's with all 25 IOs, but just a joy to play, so I'm not sure how I will go back to my poor widow....I guess that's why they are called that - most end up getting abandoned after their 'husband' dies too many times? 🤣 Anyway, I think I need to get at least one toon to 50 and play some team endgame finally. It's prob going to be my Ill/Dark troller who is almost at 40, or this PB, if I can stick with it. Alt-o-holism is a real curse and needs to be taken seriously folks! 😉

This is a fantastic guide/exposé of the Widow class, thanks guys! I'm trying my hand at one & just hit 20. Very end hungry and squishy so far, but I will power through to 24 & def re-spec as a purely ranged Fortunata, as I mostly solo and love to snipe from above (so Fly/Hover are almost mandatory). So, does anyone have a link to a good, cheap, relatively beginner-friendly Fortunata Mids build please? I have around 100million Inf across all my mains/alts, but really don't want to blow it all if it's going to cost that much (or more!) to get a Fortunata viable! If a low cost Fortunata will be a struggle, I'll prob just go back to my Ill/Dark troller or PB or even Beast/Nature MM, which are all fairly solo/low-cost friendly for levelling to 50, in my experience so far. I have no idea what I want to do at 50 - obviously, I may need to dip my toe in the team waters, although I hate letting others down if I'm crap at playing a particular role/class eh. Perhaps I should just go back to one of my Defender/Blaster builds for a pure ranged sniper hero...? Sorry, I know this is duplicate question/post from another thread, So, any good, cheap, starter build for a Fortunata from 24-50 would be much appreciated, cheers folks, at least until this alt-o-holic finds his niche heh.

Thanks mate, a Fortunata certainly sounds like it's worth having a good go at, especially as I have a Widow at 16 already! Will power level her into the 20s & see how I go. I made my "FlyGirl" theme widow originally with just super-flight-speed in mind, but since everyone gets that virtually for free now, I'll have a look at re-specing her from someone's build on the forums that suits my 'play style' heh. Just looked at her - I 3-slotted Fly & picked Hover and Evasive Maneuvers already lol! That can't be very good, especially with mostly DOs across the board, as it was meant to be a kind of 'solo self-found' build, live & learn...🙄 (I assume that the forum post "Voltak's Fortunata geared for ITF 4 star - tested and proven." is def not for me, as I'm nowhere near there yet...? 😉 ---- Just quickly dusted off my widow & levelled quickly to 18 (i switched her to hero last time I played as I find the CoV maps depressing & prefer playing the hero power fantasy anyway ;). So, I forgot just how damn squishy she was lol! Just no defense/resist or dmg mitigation at this level. Had to exit a couple missions several times, heal & come back. Daymn. She was a little better at 17 when I switched out all those crappy old DOs to 20 SOs. Hope it all changes when I upgrade to Fortunata and can just stay at range...8-/.
