SG was already present in animated form in the short-lived Marvel Rising series, which also added an animated Kamala Khan and Ironheart before their live action debuts... plus one Chloe Bennet as yer actual in-universe Quake. There was also a New Warriors live-action series developed and piloted for Freeform. Unfortunately it was canned before release by - quoting the showrunner - a rich, straight, homophobic Brentwood turd at Marvel. Who has since himself been thoroughly canned from Marvel for being... well, see above. Here's Milana Veyntraub (This Is Us) in the pre-CGI costume...

I'm sure there'll be a veritable Who's Hugh - sorry, Hugh's Who - gah, Who's Who of improbable variant Wolvies for the TVA to sort out. I don't think The Boys has run out of steam just yet, though after S3... ...S4 might be a good place to put draw a veil over things, tie up loose ends and 'ave a well-earned brew. And to be honest, I'm not sure anything they could do is going to top the "Herogasm" episode. As for GV, it looks more 20% teen angst, 80% teen survival horror. Or as some of us called it, "high school". 😛

Final trailer for The Boys' college-era spinoff is out, and while there are a few plot similarities - like a competition to wind up as the top-ranked hero and all the glory that brings - Sky High it ain't... So, two obviously hypercompetitive superjocks with their own issues and agendas, some second tiers who are probably the heroes/leads/Final Girls, something called The Woods that shall not be discussed, a whole new range of fun powers (shrinking, blood magick, and... puppetry...?), and a bloody disgusting murder mystery. Cast: Golden Boy is Terminal List's Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, one of Ahnold's kids), CAOSabrina's Roz (Jaz Sinclair) and Ambrose (Chance Perdomo) reuniting as very different students, guest shots from A-Train and other Boys regulars, and the ever-wonderful Clancy Brown as a suitably avuncular and probably mildly evil chancellor. Jensen Ackles is also rumoured to show up, though listed only as "Ben", not Soldier Boy, and that ref is not on IMDB. Drops on Prime September 29. Do we think it's gonna make the grade?

So, in the absence of m'learned coll (and having finally chewed through sixty pages of due diligence research in the real world), time to catch up with our new favourite Jedi... One other thing: has any Deep Nerd tried to translate any of the notes and directions of the credit maps?

It depends on the build. I do have one 50 that still uses temp jetpacks to get around, but I've lately fallen in love a lot with Spring Attack for melee toons. (My latest Brute Barbierienne had that, plus Shield Charge, plus all the Axe attacks, so a lot of crowd-control options. And looked great.) For non-melee toons, it's worth remembering most enemies don't think or fight 3 dimensionally... so going up is one way out of embarrassing one-shot melee kills.

We can segue that back to generational humour, mind... I’m a disappointed idealist. I think of myself as a skeptic, a realist. I think the cynics are the people who left the gas tank on the Ford Pinto, companies that kill people and just cross them out because they can’t afford to retool. That’s a cynical position. Because, quite rightly, they have two whole title cards showing off the cape and cartoon royalty joining JK and co this season: Hamill himself, Grey, Zazie, Clancy, Kari, LaMarrrrrr, KMR, Zach Quinto, Chloe Bennet, Tatiana, Diggs... and Flockhart? I'll allow it, but no dancing babies plz. That'd be just too weird and meta even for this show.
