Yup. "To the extent that I was aware of the kind of toxic fandom, the anti-SJW, you know, sad little corner of fandom — you just disregard that. Sometimes you’re motivated to have things simply because it’s possibly going to piss off or provoke people who seem to have missed the memo about just what exactly “Star Trek” is and always has been all about." https://variety.com/2020/tv/features/michael-chabon-star-trek-picard-1203544717/

You're a leading a team playing a video game, not other people's drill sergeant, parent or boss.

I'm not a fan of Discovery either. It's sole redeeming quality is proving that Voyager and Enterprise weren't bad after all, and that's including the abysmal "These are the voyages" finale for Enterprise. I can't get excited about this at all, which is truly a shame since I absolutely adore Michelle Yeoh. She was the only redeeming thing about Discovery and I didn't watch any episode she wasn't in and stopped watching altogether once she left. This looks just terrible and an actress of her immense talent is totally wasted on garbage like this. Then again, what does anyone expect when you have "showrunners" like Chabon who said he didn't care about what fans thought and wanted to piss them off, hiring "writers" who admit they've never watched a single second of Star Trek and have no clue as to the lore. No wonder Paramount is in the crapper.

There's never been 40+ Babbages. 28 is the current record. Last week there was about 20 Babbages and 2 Kronos Titans. Correct. The specific mission in the "Operation World Wide Red" arc from Crimson in PI is the one called "Stop All Wildflower Agents". Once you defeat all the Malta and rescue Dr. Lamarr, don't exit the mission. Use an Oro portal or Base Teleporter to exit from within the mission. We do this every so often to do a mass Kronos Spawn in Talos and some use this to spawn Kronos Titans during the Saturday Night Synapse on Torch.

Feature request: Stop buffs breaking poses
ZacKing replied to Mulligan's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
In addition to not breaking poses, I'd personally love to see an option to decline all outside buffs from other players. VFX spam in general was already way out of hand when the game was live and there's no end in sight to it here. VFX spam is a real deterrent in joining larger teams and leagues and I know I'm not the only one. Yeah yeah, I know about the noparticles thing. -
EU petition to stop video games from being killed off

I don't disagree with you, but I also understand that the software landscape has changed. It depends on the software too. Back in the day when you bought a CD, you had the physical product and didn't get any sort of security updates, bug fixes and such. Now, you're not really buying a physical product anymore and as I understand it and from what I've seen, you're getting bug and security fixes at least. Whether or not you're getting full upgrades included in your subscription fee is dependent on the publisher. I agree this is annoying. Cisco is infamous for this too in the ISP market. If they find you have anything in your network that isn't "genuine Cisco" they won't honor their Smartnet guarantee. They've been strong-arming the industry for years. Apple does this too. From my experience, most will work with non-authentic cartridges just fine. Remember, these printer companies don't make their money on printers themselves. The money comes from cartridge sales. Same thing with Keurig and K-cups. -
EU petition to stop video games from being killed off
ZacKing replied to Doc Spectre's topic in Video Games
If a company decides they aren't making enough money from a title, it's perfectly reasonable to shut it down. Like I said earlier, if those companies want to release their code to the public so someone else can manage it and pay for it, by all means go for it. I don't think companies should be required to operate at a loss keeping titles active that are losing money. -

Some of the shots in there looked like stuff from the SDCC, but whatever. I still think this is going to bomb. -

I don't really see a difference. If the game you've purchased requires an internet connection to play, regardless of whether single or multi-player, that means it needs to connect to a server the company is providing, and you're paying for access to a service. Unless those games specifically stated in their user agreements that they'd be around forever, then the companies can sunset them whenever they want. I agree with your sentiment though and can empathize, which I think we all can given the game we're currently playing here. -

Most of it is from actual teaser footage though based on what I've read and seen from the SDCC. Still a pass for me. You can't polish this turd enough. Pedro Pascal is just horribly miscast. -

Teaser Trailer from SDCC ... Yup, I'm out. Definite pass and can already tell this is going to be the next in an ever lengthening list of flops for the MCU. -

I don't think companies should be required to continue paying to maintain games in perpetuity. If it's a MMORPG, you're paying for access and as far as I know, there's no guarantee you'll have access forever. With that said, if the game companies are willing to let the community take over the costs for maintenance and running a server like they have here, I'm all for it. -
Pie in the sky idea - I'd love to see more team-oriented Trial/TF/SF content that's geared toward and balanced for small teams. Don't get me wrong, stuff like hard mode TFs and the Labrynth are fun, but if I'm being honest I much prefer content that's made for smaller groups and not full leagues. Trials like the Summer Blockbuster and Dr. Kane's House of Horrors are great and are designed for a max of 4 players. I can play these with the wife and kids without needing to recruit anyone else. Key points of interest to me are that I like smaller, casual groups and there's way less VFX spam on a small team than there is on a full league. Yeah, I know about the noparticles thing. I know the HC folk love teaming and making team content, but it would be nice to see some content that's made for smaller groups. Not everything needs to be for a full league.

I liked Dual Blades for a long while. I had a DB/SR scrapper that was a lot of fun. I abandoned it because I couldn't stand the whole need to land a hit to get the BU from Blinding Feint. That was annoying AF.

I saw this and at first I thought it was a joke. I agree I don't like the casting choice. Seems like a cheap gimmick to get people interested in the MCU again after the last few years (and upcoming) of super flops and crap films. It's a shame Disney/Marvel totally wasted Christian Bale on Thor: Love and Thunder. He's an excellent choice to play Doom. So is Cillian Murphy. Let Stark's sacrifice in Endgame continue to resonate. It's kinda obvious this is going to be multiverse shenanigans to shoehorn him back as Stark. They also could've just recast Kang too. Would've loved to see Denzel Washington take that on.

Well actually yes, the cake could get better just like the show can. If you were to read the ingredients and then provide feedback to the chef, they could change the recipe. I don't know if you know anything about running a business or customer service, but it's important to understand what your customers don't like in addition to what they do like. Sometimes it's critical to know what isn't working, not just what is working. That's how you improve. Apologies if I'm misunderstanding you, but the rest of your post seems to be saying that if people didn't like the show, they shouldn't comment on it. I don't agree with that. People should be free to express their opinions. Star Wars fans, just like any other fan group, have likes and dislikes and I personally think it's important to allow everyone to share their thoughts and opinions. Why is it ok for you to let everyone know that you enjoyed the series, but no one can tell you that they didn't?
-
I understand that just fine. You can't control what other people post, but you can control whether or not you respond and how you respond. If folks would just put the guy on ignore, you wouldn't see the posts and don't have to bother with them. I don't disagree, but you don't have to respond. If you'd rather not just ignore the person and choose to attack them, that's fine, but you're perpetuating the whole thing.
-
Not directing this at you personally, but some folks here need to make up their minds. They go on and on asking people for feedback, telling them that feedback and suggestions are important, the HC team wants their feedback etc. Then when people do post suggestions, they get pounced on. I wonder why some don't want to bother with suggestions anymore? Yeah, someone may post a lot of criticisms and suggestions for improvement. They're still here though, so there's something they're finding enjoyable enough to stay. Attack the idea, not the person.
-
Whatever happened to "be excellent to each other" and attacking the idea, not the person? As to the topic, I'm all for a No FX option for all powers. That allows for customizing the way a player would like. The suppressvfx is nice, but it's all or nothing which isn't always ideal.
-
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and you don't need to watch something to know whether or not you'll like it. Let me put it to you this way - let's say I'm going to bake you a cake. You ask what's in the cake and I send you a link to the recipe. You read the recipe and see the main ingredients are horse manure, cow urine, with a bit of syrup of ipecac. Reading that, you already know it's not appealing to you and refuse to eat it because you know it will literally taste like shit. Can/should you be criticized for not even trying it?
-
Your nitpick didn't make sense. It still doesn't. It certainly doesn't jive with the whole "suspension of disbelief" and "need for realism" in the game. This is a fictional world where people can run at super speed, fly through the air, literally breath fire, summon zombies and demons, etc. It's silly to suggest that an oversized guitar existing isn't "realistic", but a generic Stop sign stopping bullets from high powered rifles or blasts of fire hot enough to melt steel or being smashed by a giant warhammer without being destroyed is realistic. Seems like people can play an oversized guitar just fine.
-
There's a VFX item I believe it's called Hortha Funnel that might work. It's got a tornado-ish look to it, but IIRC it has a weird mystical sound effect. Might give that a try. You can try hiding an Interdimensional Shard teleporter found under Tech Teleport inside it.
-
Love the idea of guitars as melee weapons! Now this is a really interesting and very cool idea! Might be fun for the HC team to dive into making a whole new story arc and NPC group. Probably a whole lot of music related puns that can be tossed into the dialogue for the NPCs. I don't get the whole "suspension of disbelief" comment either. Makes no sense to want "realism" in the fictional world of this game. I guess the guitars would be made from the same stuff that weapons like the Garage Brand, Railroad Pike and Carnival Mallet are made out of. 🤣 There's shields that are manhole covers and stop signs too, so whatever those are fabricated with. 😁

Captain America: Brave New World
ZacKing replied to Excraft's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I think this is exactly it. I guess Disney hasn't learned their lesson yet. Hiring writers who don't know and therefore don't respect the source material is a recipe for a box office flop. Paramount does the same thing with Star Trek. They've notoriously been bringing on writers who never watched a single episode of Star Trek to write for the shows. It's stupid if you ask me.
