I liked Dual Blades for a long while. I had a DB/SR scrapper that was a lot of fun. I abandoned it because I couldn't stand the whole need to land a hit to get the BU from Blinding Feint. That was annoying AF.

I saw this and at first I thought it was a joke. I agree I don't like the casting choice. Seems like a cheap gimmick to get people interested in the MCU again after the last few years (and upcoming) of super flops and crap films. It's a shame Disney/Marvel totally wasted Christian Bale on Thor: Love and Thunder. He's an excellent choice to play Doom. So is Cillian Murphy. Let Stark's sacrifice in Endgame continue to resonate. It's kinda obvious this is going to be multiverse shenanigans to shoehorn him back as Stark. They also could've just recast Kang too. Would've loved to see Denzel Washington take that on.

Well actually yes, the cake could get better just like the show can. If you were to read the ingredients and then provide feedback to the chef, they could change the recipe. I don't know if you know anything about running a business or customer service, but it's important to understand what your customers don't like in addition to what they do like. Sometimes it's critical to know what isn't working, not just what is working. That's how you improve. Apologies if I'm misunderstanding you, but the rest of your post seems to be saying that if people didn't like the show, they shouldn't comment on it. I don't agree with that. People should be free to express their opinions. Star Wars fans, just like any other fan group, have likes and dislikes and I personally think it's important to allow everyone to share their thoughts and opinions. Why is it ok for you to let everyone know that you enjoyed the series, but no one can tell you that they didn't?
-
I understand that just fine. You can't control what other people post, but you can control whether or not you respond and how you respond. If folks would just put the guy on ignore, you wouldn't see the posts and don't have to bother with them. I don't disagree, but you don't have to respond. If you'd rather not just ignore the person and choose to attack them, that's fine, but you're perpetuating the whole thing.
-
Not directing this at you personally, but some folks here need to make up their minds. They go on and on asking people for feedback, telling them that feedback and suggestions are important, the HC team wants their feedback etc. Then when people do post suggestions, they get pounced on. I wonder why some don't want to bother with suggestions anymore? Yeah, someone may post a lot of criticisms and suggestions for improvement. They're still here though, so there's something they're finding enjoyable enough to stay. Attack the idea, not the person.
-
Whatever happened to "be excellent to each other" and attacking the idea, not the person? As to the topic, I'm all for a No FX option for all powers. That allows for customizing the way a player would like. The suppressvfx is nice, but it's all or nothing which isn't always ideal.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and you don't need to watch something to know whether or not you'll like it. Let me put it to you this way - let's say I'm going to bake you a cake. You ask what's in the cake and I send you a link to the recipe. You read the recipe and see the main ingredients are horse manure, cow urine, with a bit of syrup of ipecac. Reading that, you already know it's not appealing to you and refuse to eat it because you know it will literally taste like shit. Can/should you be criticized for not even trying it?

Your nitpick didn't make sense. It still doesn't. It certainly doesn't jive with the whole "suspension of disbelief" and "need for realism" in the game. This is a fictional world where people can run at super speed, fly through the air, literally breath fire, summon zombies and demons, etc. It's silly to suggest that an oversized guitar existing isn't "realistic", but a generic Stop sign stopping bullets from high powered rifles or blasts of fire hot enough to melt steel or being smashed by a giant warhammer without being destroyed is realistic. Seems like people can play an oversized guitar just fine.

There's a VFX item I believe it's called Hortha Funnel that might work. It's got a tornado-ish look to it, but IIRC it has a weird mystical sound effect. Might give that a try. You can try hiding an Interdimensional Shard teleporter found under Tech Teleport inside it.
-
Love the idea of guitars as melee weapons! Now this is a really interesting and very cool idea! Might be fun for the HC team to dive into making a whole new story arc and NPC group. Probably a whole lot of music related puns that can be tossed into the dialogue for the NPCs. I don't get the whole "suspension of disbelief" comment either. Makes no sense to want "realism" in the fictional world of this game. I guess the guitars would be made from the same stuff that weapons like the Garage Brand, Railroad Pike and Carnival Mallet are made out of. 🤣 There's shields that are manhole covers and stop signs too, so whatever those are fabricated with. 😁

Captain America: Brave New World
ZacKing replied to Excraft's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I think this is exactly it. I guess Disney hasn't learned their lesson yet. Hiring writers who don't know and therefore don't respect the source material is a recipe for a box office flop. Paramount does the same thing with Star Trek. They've notoriously been bringing on writers who never watched a single episode of Star Trek to write for the shows. It's stupid if you ask me. -
Looks like a fun set. I'm looking forward to trying it out myself. I'll definitely actively avoid teaming for a while once this rolls out though since everyone and their brother will be rolling new alts for it and the already over saturated VFX will get a whole lot worse on teams, much like when Seismic Blast was first released.

Captain America: Brave New World
ZacKing replied to Excraft's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
So Harrison Ford couldn't be arsed to grow a mustache for the role? Or wear a fake one? Love him but it's sad to see him wasted on this role. He's getting long in the tooth for these movies. -
Something of an experience tonight... (spoilers for Mr. G)

They did share their thought. I agree that un-avoidable, un-resistable, massive spike damage is bad design. -
Captain America: Brave New World
ZacKing replied to Excraft's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
GoTG had a much smaller budget of around $250 million (less than half of CA: BNW depending on most reports) and was made during the heyday of the MCU. It also didn't hit the billion dollar mark at the box office. Things have changed considerably for the MCU since then with a rather lengthy run of mega-flops that have soured the audience. The reported $450 million dollar budget (mostly due to reshooting the bulk of the film) is a bigger budget than Avengers: Endgame which had all the A-list characters in it. It doesn't take a genius to work out this movie is going to fail. No way this even comes close to breaking even, let alone turning a profit. I'm wondering if this is being forced out due to deals with other actors/producers/directors? -
This even more true now that the game isn't a for-profit business anymore. Difficulty grinds are made to keep people playing and paying longer. To be clear, I'm not saying people should be able to solo 4 star hard mode TFs or iTrials. Optional difficulty levels are a good thing.
-
I disagree with both. No one has suggested that the game should always be a cakewalk. This is why there's TFs, MSRs, Hamidon, iTrials etc. Those bits of team/raid content are made specifically for teams and several of them offer hard modes for even more challenge. Telling someone to just set themselves to -1 diff in order to feel super is a disincentive to improve.

There is a huge difference between how these ideas were presented on TOS and how the same concepts are presented today. Watch episodes like "The Save Curtain" and pay close attention to Uhura's reaction to the words Lincoln uses. Uhura didn't know what he was talking about and asked why would she be offended by what he said after he apologized. If tht were written today, she'd have launched into a 30 minute diatribe about slavery, oppression, how men are keeping her down, calling Lincoln ever -ist word in the book, etc.

A non-police Trainer NPC in King's Row
ZacKing replied to mechahamham's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As others have already said, go visit another trainer someplace else. Your problem is solved. Clearly you've also never seem to have heard of tropes like the hero's journey and/or redemption arcs in storytelling. Amen. I'd up-vote this 10,000 times if I could. -
Thanks very much for the compliments. I appreciate it. Please do drop by anytime and visit whenever you like. Feel free to brings some friends for a toga part! 😁

I know. I said as much. Maybe you missed my post.

I'm not no. I'll message you privately with further details. I'd rather not allow the actions of others to further derail the thread. Thank you though. Your note is appreciated.

Oh I'm sure it's meant as a parody. I think it's funny myself. But I can see how some would report it instantly on sight.
