Ele/Ele is my only 50 Scrapper and he's total fun. His run speed is only slightly slower than unbuffed super speed with Athletic Run going. I went into the Teleport pool for travel and for fun. I cannot post my build right now...power outage but I know 6 of the 8 resists are over 70% and my melee Def and S/L Def is at 45%. I went Ageless Core just for the recharge and to give teammates more End coverage but he has no endurance issues at all and cannot be sapped nor slowed. With quick casts and quick recharge there's always a button to mash be it an AOE or ST. The only down side and it's a big-ish one is there is no taunt aura. At first I wasn't bothered about it but it's gotten annoying. But on a team with a Brute or Tanker all is well. Also macro Lightning Rod to cast on taget. And I do like Thunderstrike. Actually power just came back up...I'll post this then edit to add my build. I will admit my slotting of Chain Induction is questionable but... If you don't have an End starved build you can do all of that with just plain ole teleport and have a much larger range. I slot stealth in sprint and it takes a second for the baddies to realize I'm there. The +toHit from CT is a waste as I'm always already good on accuracy. Just my 2 inf.

I was on my Defender yesterday and was fortunate to run a Citadel with a Fire/Dark/Soul Corruptor. She was stupid strong and was absolutely obliterating mobs. I stopped bothering trying to get my storms going, it was pointless, cause once Cat5 started to do its thing all the mobs would be dead. She has Mystic Flight, @Snarky, and she was porting all over the place with what I found out later was a macro she used to both help support the group and attack the baddies. Her tactics were solid, of course I was buffing the crap out of her with Fulcrum Shift, so there is that. After watching her I definitely want to incorporate Mystic Flight.
-
I looked at that power. I could take it instead of Twilight Grasp, which I was never planning on using. Heal isn't strong enough to be clutch and it's not an AOE, so it'd be no real loss. Does Twilight Grasp need accuracy or is it a guaranteed hit? Because I didn't see any accuracy stat.

Ok my bull-headed nature has taken over... Can't invest this much time into a toon then tap out...defeated...not when others can make them work. So, I've re-re-retooled... Attached is what I've cobbled together using the advice I've gotten (well I've cherry-picked the advice). If it weren't for the fact that I've got a great costume and name and that Fire/Dark/Dark works so well with it all, maybe then I'd be able to throw in the towel. I'm going to build an offset trying to use Mystic Flight but dipping into a power pool for just 1 power feels like a waste. Though I will admit, thematically, it works loads better, especially since you can macro the teleport to work like combat TP. @Snarky you think that is enough positional Def? I'm relying on the -5% toHit that's built into all my attacks to soft cap Range and then using Fearsome Stare and sometimes Darkest Night to be untouchable everywhere else. I did a KD proc in Inferno and in Rain of Fire, which is almost perma, like a 3 sec gap with cast time included. I still didn't take Aim. My thoughts are that Spirit Drain is a better option and I've got Gaussian's Proc in Tactics, so in a team it'll be firing off more often. Thing I don't like is I don't have alot of debuff protection. Hover Demon - Corruptor (Fire Blast - Dark Miasma)2-withNuke.mbd

Not a big fan of relying on pets. AI can be terrible and this one isn't even perma, last 2 min and best recharge I've managed is 63 seconds. So, if I go through a door or zone I lose the pet and if it's inside the CD time then I'm without. But now after playing this guy a bit I'm not digging the combo. The -toHit toggle doesn't work like I thought it did and with a +3 second cast....not flowing well with me. Gonna have to try something else I think.
-
I was building towards Snarky's Dark x3 tactic (Hit'n'Run) but apparently that's a nonstarter since Fire/Dark/Dark doesn't have the needed tools. I'm retooling now with yours and @Snarky suggestions. Doing it a couple different ways. One with the pet but no PBAOE nuke and the other w/o pet and w/ nuke. Got a question about Oppressive Gloom. Does it hit right away or is it on a 10 second cycle and how much of a drain is it on HP?
-
My vote is in on Kin/Storm. Soft cap your positional defenses, use barrier to cap them. Get Storm Cell on perma and Cat 5 makes the baddies flop around like dying fish. And you get to stay in the fray with all the melee benefitting from all your own buffs...cept for Speed Boost...stupid can't get speed boost.

The build I'm attaching in a minute is Snarky's fault....so don't laugh just at me 🙂 But seriously... Imma try Snarky's tactic with my guy except he's a Fire/Dark demon instead of a Dark/Dark vamp. I've only played him a little, but I like to have my builds mapped out to a certain extent and vetted by the vets if possible. My hope is that with the +20% or more Defense coupled with the -toHit built into Dark that I'll be fairly unhittable and that I smoke the little ones expeditiously, thus reducing the overall damage I might've otherwise had to endure. And, so long as I only mess up every 119 seconds or so...it's all good. This guy will be for general content, nothing crazy like star stuff, just some 4/8 ITF, Tinpex, and PI mish, etc... As always, I'm open to suggestions and comments, ya ain't gonna hurt my feels cause respecs are a thing and inf isn't a prob, that, and I'm new to corrupting so ain't like I know what I'm doing yet any ways. AND... As always, thanks in advance! Just gonna throw Snarks name down here, so I don't feel like I'm talking behind his back... @Snarky P.S. I did add a touch more survival in than Snarky did, cause I know I'm not on his level... Demon - Corruptor (Fire Blast - Dark Miasma).mbd

Take Sovera's builds to the bank. Sovera helped me build my Rad/Fire and soon my Sav/Fire for the exact same playstyle as you. It's a beast and it melts face. You can try to tweak it...but you'll only make it not as good. Quick questions though about one slot in Thunder Strike, did ya mean to slot FotG Acc/End/Rec and not -Res? Seems like an expensive one piece slot for no proc.

OK I just mostly finished out my only Defender (Kin/Storm). He's fully slotted but only T3 on all but Lore. And my thoughts are.... Holy crap! First of all, Kin is pretty awesome, and I absolutely couldn't live without Cat 5, though there has been one complaint about the "fog" making it "hard to see." But who cares what that shmuck thinks...not this dude. I got bodies flopping around me, my team is rocking with my Fulcrum at perma, actually all my buffs are on perma, and I'm doing hella damage. And I've gotten tons of complements about the "support" pretty much any TF I've been on. I wasn't sure I'd dig him too much, but before I figured his build out, I ran with a Kin/Rad Defender and he/she helped me with my build. It's basically a Scrapper with no mez protection, only maybe better. I have to be in melee range so I can use End drain to my advantage, so my Melee, Range, and AOE Def are roughly soft capped and my S/L Res is 75% with my Energy Res at 65%. I wanted higher Energy Res cause I like running MSRs. I can keep my team buffed and healed all while dishing out damage in the middle of the pile. It feels awesome. I definitely feel like I'm contributing to the team's success. Also, rolling solo...not bad either. Imma Cat 5 fanboy though. Even as a Brute I live for the runs where I have support with it going. I love the chaos it creates.

I guess this is my newbness shining through, since I only started playing back in January or February; and, didn't know how to level, it was months before I had a 50. All that being said, I don't really remember these mobs being ROFLstomp easy. BUT, if they are too difficult don't solo at +4/8. If you are soloing ain't nobody gonna know but you that you can't handle max level. Also, the complaining sounds more like hurt pride than anything else. Sort of like that dude in the gym that just failed to bench 225 then hops up explaining to anyone that'll listen how just last week he rep'd it out. If you prefer rolling solo and find you're in over your head just dial it back to ROFLstomp +2/6 and come out the other side and regale us all with the tale of how you bravely faced the unfaceable at +4/8. Ain't nobody gonna call you on it...well, I mean....we might now that we know you can't. Also, the game is pretty awesome. Now go out there and smash some heads!
-
I'm just dipping my toe in the support pool BUT having played long enough now to understand, I don't leave the group behind nor let them pull away from me unless I can handle the situation solo. But I really enjoy running with support, it's more fun. On the flip side I ran an ITF the other day with 6 tanks (4 brutes, 2 tankers) and 1 support and a blaster and it was equally as smooth since we just divided the aggro so none of us were overwhelmed. I'm building a Kin/Storm I've got a funny concept and a solid looking build. We'll see how it pans out. But, I 100% enjoy runs more with support, especially those with crazy chaos causing powers. Love the insanity when baddies are flip-flopping all over the place.
-
Ran a +4/8 ITF with 5 Defenders once, I was on my best geared Brute, and I felt utterly useless. It was the smoothest run I'd ever been on. It felt more like a carry for me though. If you are on a team and mashing buttons, then you are contributing, but if you are the 35 on the ITF, maybe not so much.
-
Right! Because all the other animations are really cool!
-
I've been looking around and noticed some take Devastating Blow and some don't. Some only use a rotation of T1,T2,T5. Are you just joking about not using Atom Smasher? I'm going to build this guy, right now. I'm not disliking the combination.
-
So I wanted to see just how slow Rad/Fire is.....so I joined a few MSRs and a few PI +4/8 groups to zip up the levels. Now at 40 I've slotted some enhancements and started soloing. Yup sa-la-oh-wa doesn't even do it justice. But it does melt bad guys pretty quick just not very exciting. Prob gonna reroll....we'll see. May hold on to him for comparison. The animations....I mean even Atom Smasher is in slo-mo. What is the point?
-
Just curious if you'd be willing to post a build where you've managed to get 45% to all or 90% to all on any Brute combo? Not calling you out, but I'm newish to building out top end toons and have yet to meet either of those recommendations. I don't play "star" content but regularly main tank ITF +4x8 with my SS/Inv Brute and I think 38% is my highest Def on S/L with everything else falling in the 31-32%, except for Toxic and Psi. And my resists are 90% S/L, ~65% E/NE/F/C, and T/P is lower. and I run ITF with any level 35+. I also run a combination of Hyperstrike and Infinitum SS/Inv build. But very intrigued about your builds, would love to see one for sure. I have managed to almost max out a Scrapper's Resist on 6 of the 8, almost, but he's an Ele/Ele, so it was kind of easy.
-
Ok... I read your post where you said "Claws/Fire held a PR for the fastest run." I have a good idea how to slot Claws...except for Shockwave and Focus as a Brute do we really wanna be knocking people back? And I know there are different claws to pick from, but my Scrapper Claws is a Wolvey clone, so I didn't go any further after finding the right ones for him. I'm wondering now if, thematically, there'd be a set that would look right for my dragon. Have to check that out this afternoon. I'm not opposed to Claws at all, it a fun and fast primary. The Savage/Fire build is really good! I made the changes needed to include flight and only lost the immobilize protection CJ got me, still has 10 though. Res and Def remained, practically, identical. The End use is real though! Guessing Ageless Core for sure and/or Agility Core... Hmm but I bet you'd Go Cardiac Core for the End reduction and Res boost and then Barrier to plug some holes if only for a short time? Or does Consume slotted out like you have it fill the hole good enough? I was wondering, about defenses though... I heard mention of changes to S/L that made the "old" way of building not so good now. Are we still building for higher S/L Def for general gameplay, or are we supposed to focus on positional Def, or just average out all of them best we can? Just to get your thought on... well my thought 🙂 .... I know 2 travel powers is cray cray, buuuut what if instead of taking Hover to mule a recharge I took Super Speed to mule a touch more knockback protection? I was looking and the loss of 7.5% recharge only adds 4 seconds on Hasten's CD and on the attacks it's in the hundredths of a second increase. Thanks for all the help...again!! :)

Gonna ask the stupid question... How does the tanker build translate over to a Brute build? Edit: Oh I see you had a Claws/Fire Brute too. I'd lean toward Savage, I think.
-
No I want Radiation melee. I tried Fire melee but don't like the sword animations. But yeah...Savage Melee... That didn't cross my mind. I was in the whole "fire effect" mindset when I was choosing my primary. But can Fiery Aura be made for general content? I'm open to another that might work better. Just the only talk I found about Rad/Fire was all farm talk.
-
Just tossing this out but there is no rush. Still working my Inf back up...but looking for suggestions from folks a little more creative and knowledgeable about the game's looks and mechanics. I'm kicking around a dragon concept build. I've got the costume ironed out and I want Radiation for my primary and I want Fly but not hover as I want to fight in Beast travel form. However, I'm on the fence about my secondary choice. I've initially went with Fire, ya know...cause dragon, but I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to make that playable in general. I'm guessing it's all about melting face before being melted and fire resist....lots of fire resist. My SG mate has a dragon that is Ele/Ele so I don't really wanna duplicate his thing, and I've already got a Scrapper and a Blaster that are both Ele/Ele, so really, I'm all electric'd out at the moment. So is it possible to make Fire Aura work for general play? Cause I like the thought of all the fire around him. All I've really been able to find is farm builds. OR...what would be a good secondary that works well with Rad melee and could be all dragony? Energy? Bio? SR maybe? Too vague? Let me know. I'm really want to make this work, the costume is one of my best yet. I run alot of ITFs (it's my favorite) and any other TF people will have me on. Thanks!!

Saved me from blowing a lot of inf.
-
So if Gaussian buffs both, then logically the pet one does as well?
-
I forget the name of the set, it's in the Pet Damage category, but it has a chance for build up. Before I blow 20ish mil on it I wanted to understand it a lil better. Does its build up apply to both you and them or just them? Thanks!
