Dude great advice! Thanks!
-
Funny how the good can be erased by the bad...hmm.
-
Dude you've posted twice now and not a single bit of advice only complaints...you probably grind somebody's gears too doing that. Sovera is cool AF. And probably doesn't need me playing defender but come on at least add something to the convo. Having said that... My only blaster is an Ele/Ele/Mu and I hover-blast with him. I find that as long as the T9 attack isn't a PBAOE then you can get away with it better without taking much off the table. I like staying at range, but as many have said playing in tight quarters nearly eliminates the advantage. Which is also why I spec'd into Electric Fence, Tesla Cage, and the other single hold (can't think of the name) and they pretty much hold anything when stacking them.
-
And just so we're all on the same page, my playstyle is fine... I have a Defender Kin, but the build is different, built with higher defenses and resistances. The problem I'm really having is with the "double" stun mechanic with Dark Pit and Oppressive Gloom. It's not hitting like I'd planned so staying in melee with the current level of protection isn't really doing it. I've been playing midrange to melee, but I'm using Super Speed, which is newish to me. I've never really used it, mostly stick with flying or Super Jump, but I wanted to make a go of it.... sometimes I shoot passed my intended mark when running in, it's mostly funny the first dozen times... Still though... Transference with range but only helping melee doesn't really support the entire team.
-
Then is the description of the power incorrect? It states, "Fulcrum shift drains the power of a targeted foe and all foes nearby, transferring it to all adjacent allies, you, and all those near you."
-
Nah, I think the build does though, but still...come on... Transference with range and it only helps with melee. Same for the heal really. What's really fun though is timing, just before Transference kicks in the baddie is floored. My guy is only like 43, prob just growing pains...

I have a /Bio brute and I can say that with enough regen you don't need maxed out anything. I've not built a /WP yet but look into Spaghetti Betti, I think that's her handle. She can absolutely put together a great regen build and then do things with it no one else can. My dude heals through everything. I've put him up against everything. I can fire farm with him, S/L farm with him. Run general content...pretty much anything, maybe that's just Bio, don't know, but your build, defensively looks solid. You may find that you can get away with less and bump your DPS up more. You just need to get to 50, get incarnates and see what might need adjusting.
-
Base 60ft range that does the Kin no good... Why oh why can't this give the user the benefit at range? Wish it worked like Fulcrum Shift where everyone by the target and the caster gets the buff, but newp... So I have to run in to get some End then rush back out. And I've been slightly out of range a couple times when it popped and got nothing, then there are the times where it just misses... It's fairly reliable and fairly dangerous to use. Would I just be better off taking Ageless to end my End-woes?

Money making in CoV/H (and how I dont do any of it)
WuTang replied to Snarky's topic in General Discussion
I'd like to jump in here and ad my 2 inf to both topics being discussed... One, I'm with Snarky about making inf. I did the whole AH thing and hit a billion and then quickly spent it, probably, actually, mostly unwisely. But it's play currency so no harm no foul. I also farm a little and it's about as fun as hammering a nail with my big toe, but it's an easy way to get some inf, recipes, orange salvage, and my kiddos play so alot of times they are door sitting...if only they had a farmer too! I have found that just having a 50 to play makes for a more fun time gaining inf and all the other stuff but having multiple 50s is the sweet spot. Especially, as I have found recently, if they are not all the same style AT. Fold Space... want to like it. Totally cool idea and great tool (when it works) for someone who either doesn't have a taunt aura like my Ele/Ele scrapper or someone who can sit the mobs on top of the tank or melee. But now, after having it myself, wasted respec. I have all the problems Ukase pointed out, AND like Tidge pointed out so many use it so poorly. I was in an ITF the other day, a quicky +0, and no sooner than I'd plop down my Tar Patch, the tank would yank all the mobs to him. Not really his fault but as we were all basically running up and killing everything at will, you'd think he'd have quit tailing me. I just began waiting for him to use it then do my thing. Maybe he thought he was protecting a squishy?? But honestly now my whole thought on "squishies" did a 180 after leveling 3. Built right they are tough as nails. -
First, the reason I'm asking is because after having legitimately leveled a toon through some levels and actually experiencing the endurance issues at certain levels, then after hitting 50 and getting the incarnates and enhancements that finish the build out and feeling the issues basically ease out of existence... When we exemp down the growing pains seem to be waaaaay less than I remember and sometimes there are none at all. Slots and attuned I/Os... Do these matter? Or is it some math in the background that gives a 50 an edge when playing at 25? Slots have levels based on when they were attained, so are all slots available when we exemp down or are the one attained beyond the current level blacked out? And if so, I'm assuming that reduces set bonuses and the values of any enhancement in slots that are blacked out. But, anecdotally, I don't feel as gimped as I did when I was actually playing at that level. Attuned I/Os I'm assuming that they shift in value based on the level that we've shifted to, but then what about AT I/Os? When we change them to superior, do we get any value out of them if we exemp down? So, then what of non-attuned level 50 I/Os? Do they lose all value when we exemp? It doesn't feel like it. I never really thought I'd like rolling backwards, but I was wrong. TFs always seemed too complicated and for a long time I didn't run any until I hit 50 and then I would only run those that allowed me to stay 50. I've come around. I had other questions....but life keeps interrupting my train of thought. So, thanks in advance for any help

OK need a bit more help. Can't figure out how to setup Inferno, it's a near death experience each time and sometimes a complete death experience. @Meknomancer What you said about Rain of Fire rarely proc'ing... Mids shows anything in the 3.5ppm range to proc at 90%. Even the resist debuff you slotted shows 90%. I understand a bit better now why Dark/Dark/Dark works so well. A 4mag stunner plus a melee AOE nuke that leaves anything standing with a -50% toHit (I know that's what Snarky said all the way at the top, but I didn't know about the nuke's debuff). I'm totally jealous and guessing Inferno is meant to kill'em all, but like @Snarky said, the Corruptor's version lacks the oomph of the Balster's, so its mechanic is gimped, and I'm left with too many alive to get away clean. Thanks all!

I have 2 of the 3 in heal, only Numina is left out. I've swapped things around since I posted the last build. I fully slotted the heal with a full set of Numina. But the 2nd End Mod in Stam should be the same, maybe a tad more End recovery.

What Is Your Reason For Choosing a Corrupter/Goals?
WuTang replied to Paragon Vanguard's topic in Corruptor
Started on Brutes, still probably my favorite. Got a Scrapper, then a Blaster, then a Defender...now working on a Corruptor. But I started the Corruptor for a different reason. Brutes are my comfort zone. In all games I prefer melee, especially tanky melee that don't always need help. Scrapper was a natural transition; I wanted a bit more DPS, and the way I built him he's still pretty tanky. The Defender was because I ran with a Kin/Rad Defender who was absolutely awesome. She stayed in melee for the most part did damage and healed/buffed us. I was so impressed that I had to make one, though I went with Kin/Storm. But the Corruptor... I built a Corruptor because I didn't, and to some degree still don't, understand their role, but I think I'm coming around. To be honest a Controller and Dominator both look the same to me as well. Actually, all the support ATs, to me, are like SUVs, basically the same with varying looks but barely distinguishable. The Corruptor looked like the more damage oriented one and hence my pick. And now that I've played for a bit, my Corruptor is starting to feel like the complete opposite of my Defender, or maybe it's the arbitrary role I've assigned them to, cause in my mind my Defender's role is to buff first then DPS and my Corruptor's is DPS and debuff (he's Fire/Dark). Really. though, it comes down to variety for me and COH has no shortage of that. Liking the Corruptor and the "Scourge" thing is funny. And I like the idea of a damage/debuff toon and it fits my theme to a tee. -
Been playing this guy, he's at 42 now, loads of fun. Though.... Need help understanding the End drain cause...it is REAL! I had to up slot Stam with an additional endurance modifier, and even then, I can crash. I don't think I've had quite this problem before, except with my Rad/Fire/Fire Brute, which he still has even with Ageless Core he can dip quite low. Is Fire just that much of a hog? Then /Dark doesn't come with any endurance goodies. What are some tricks to make the blue bar happy? Cause having the blue bar blues is the pits.
-
6 slot Energize with Preventive Medicine, you want it at perma - that means it's basically always up. It's a HUGE endurance discount and a heal. You won't need to have so much invested in Stamina when you attain this. I with ya on making concessions for thematic reasons and any power can be slotted to either perform well or help you in other areas.

Can't wait to check it out. Thanks!

Ele/Ele is my only 50 Scrapper and he's total fun. His run speed is only slightly slower than unbuffed super speed with Athletic Run going. I went into the Teleport pool for travel and for fun. I cannot post my build right now...power outage but I know 6 of the 8 resists are over 70% and my melee Def and S/L Def is at 45%. I went Ageless Core just for the recharge and to give teammates more End coverage but he has no endurance issues at all and cannot be sapped nor slowed. With quick casts and quick recharge there's always a button to mash be it an AOE or ST. The only down side and it's a big-ish one is there is no taunt aura. At first I wasn't bothered about it but it's gotten annoying. But on a team with a Brute or Tanker all is well. Also macro Lightning Rod to cast on taget. And I do like Thunderstrike. Actually power just came back up...I'll post this then edit to add my build. I will admit my slotting of Chain Induction is questionable but... If you don't have an End starved build you can do all of that with just plain ole teleport and have a much larger range. I slot stealth in sprint and it takes a second for the baddies to realize I'm there. The +toHit from CT is a waste as I'm always already good on accuracy. Just my 2 inf.
-
I was on my Defender yesterday and was fortunate to run a Citadel with a Fire/Dark/Soul Corruptor. She was stupid strong and was absolutely obliterating mobs. I stopped bothering trying to get my storms going, it was pointless, cause once Cat5 started to do its thing all the mobs would be dead. She has Mystic Flight, @Snarky, and she was porting all over the place with what I found out later was a macro she used to both help support the group and attack the baddies. Her tactics were solid, of course I was buffing the crap out of her with Fulcrum Shift, so there is that. After watching her I definitely want to incorporate Mystic Flight.
-
I looked at that power. I could take it instead of Twilight Grasp, which I was never planning on using. Heal isn't strong enough to be clutch and it's not an AOE, so it'd be no real loss. Does Twilight Grasp need accuracy or is it a guaranteed hit? Because I didn't see any accuracy stat.

Ok my bull-headed nature has taken over... Can't invest this much time into a toon then tap out...defeated...not when others can make them work. So, I've re-re-retooled... Attached is what I've cobbled together using the advice I've gotten (well I've cherry-picked the advice). If it weren't for the fact that I've got a great costume and name and that Fire/Dark/Dark works so well with it all, maybe then I'd be able to throw in the towel. I'm going to build an offset trying to use Mystic Flight but dipping into a power pool for just 1 power feels like a waste. Though I will admit, thematically, it works loads better, especially since you can macro the teleport to work like combat TP. @Snarky you think that is enough positional Def? I'm relying on the -5% toHit that's built into all my attacks to soft cap Range and then using Fearsome Stare and sometimes Darkest Night to be untouchable everywhere else. I did a KD proc in Inferno and in Rain of Fire, which is almost perma, like a 3 sec gap with cast time included. I still didn't take Aim. My thoughts are that Spirit Drain is a better option and I've got Gaussian's Proc in Tactics, so in a team it'll be firing off more often. Thing I don't like is I don't have alot of debuff protection. Hover Demon - Corruptor (Fire Blast - Dark Miasma)2-withNuke.mbd

Not a big fan of relying on pets. AI can be terrible and this one isn't even perma, last 2 min and best recharge I've managed is 63 seconds. So, if I go through a door or zone I lose the pet and if it's inside the CD time then I'm without. But now after playing this guy a bit I'm not digging the combo. The -toHit toggle doesn't work like I thought it did and with a +3 second cast....not flowing well with me. Gonna have to try something else I think.
-
I was building towards Snarky's Dark x3 tactic (Hit'n'Run) but apparently that's a nonstarter since Fire/Dark/Dark doesn't have the needed tools. I'm retooling now with yours and @Snarky suggestions. Doing it a couple different ways. One with the pet but no PBAOE nuke and the other w/o pet and w/ nuke. Got a question about Oppressive Gloom. Does it hit right away or is it on a 10 second cycle and how much of a drain is it on HP?
-
My vote is in on Kin/Storm. Soft cap your positional defenses, use barrier to cap them. Get Storm Cell on perma and Cat 5 makes the baddies flop around like dying fish. And you get to stay in the fray with all the melee benefitting from all your own buffs...cept for Speed Boost...stupid can't get speed boost.

The build I'm attaching in a minute is Snarky's fault....so don't laugh just at me 🙂 But seriously... Imma try Snarky's tactic with my guy except he's a Fire/Dark demon instead of a Dark/Dark vamp. I've only played him a little, but I like to have my builds mapped out to a certain extent and vetted by the vets if possible. My hope is that with the +20% or more Defense coupled with the -toHit built into Dark that I'll be fairly unhittable and that I smoke the little ones expeditiously, thus reducing the overall damage I might've otherwise had to endure. And, so long as I only mess up every 119 seconds or so...it's all good. This guy will be for general content, nothing crazy like star stuff, just some 4/8 ITF, Tinpex, and PI mish, etc... As always, I'm open to suggestions and comments, ya ain't gonna hurt my feels cause respecs are a thing and inf isn't a prob, that, and I'm new to corrupting so ain't like I know what I'm doing yet any ways. AND... As always, thanks in advance! Just gonna throw Snarks name down here, so I don't feel like I'm talking behind his back... @Snarky P.S. I did add a touch more survival in than Snarky did, cause I know I'm not on his level... Demon - Corruptor (Fire Blast - Dark Miasma).mbd
